Hey, glad to see you back! I feel you about the thorough cleaning. Besides the regular weekly water change, I do a deep clean once in a while too. Gotta make sure tanks look clean!

Thanks so much. This is how I usually clean but might do a deep clean less often from now on. Totally with you! A clean looking tank is a very pleasing sight!

Lori Venker Thank you. Would LOVE to have a larger tank like that! There’s something really satisfying about seeing the tank after we’ve cleaned them. Love changing up the scape too to give them something different.

I would like to make a video of my little pea puffer dude! He's so camera shy, though! :D I like your tank setup - simple anubias and crypts. Those are two staple plants I've had the most success with over the years.

    • @peapufferkingdom118
      @peapufferkingdom118  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Haha What size tank is your pea in? Maybe you could add a tank mate of some sort. Yeah the Anubias seems pretty bullet proof and the crypts are amazing once they’ve settled in.

@@peapufferkingdom118 I have two planted ten gallons. One of them has my single pea puffer, all by himself. (Well, also two surly ghost shrimp). :D I bought three puffers when I got him, but two died immediately. I got nervous to introduce any new ones in the tank in case they were also sick and harmed him.

Impassion I think if you wanted to get a couple more only get ones that look super healthy with a rounded belly so you know they are eating and de-worm the tank straight away. That’s why I wouldn’t order peas online as you don’t see them until it’s too late. Hopefully we can go to our fish stores properly soon. : )

The way to pronounce the super glue is cyano-acryl-ate. Think of it as cyanide and acrylic.
You can even use it underwater, though a gel type is recommended rather than the thin liquid.
It cures from moisture, so upon contact with water the glue forms a skin. So you can put a blob of glue in place underwater and then push your item into it.

Casey Wagner Had no idea it could be added to a piece under water! Very interesting. Will have to try this. It so useful to be able to just stick plant exactly where you want them. Thanks for the tip!

So, the first time I did a deep clean taking a scrubber to the class, the little biter beans started ramming my (thankfully gloved) taking turns taking nips out of it.lol I always wonder if it hurts to get bit by one of these cuties. But I am in no rush to test it out by sticking my hand in without my trusty glove.lol i am hoping someone else has had the experience already.lol anyway. Great video. Hope to see more soon. I know this is an old one. I am sure neither one of us here will ever get bored watching videos of your puffers.

OCD is a serious thing so I'm not gonna be poking fun with you but let me just say that this level of cleanliness where one pulls EVERYTHING including PLANTS and stuff out of the tank is neither everyday normal nor healthy for your tank. A little bit of substrate vacuuming and glass cleaning is OK, once every 6 wks you can service your HOB filter or a canister but this is simply too much. The Beneficial bacteria usually resides on all of the large surfaces inside the tank (substrate, plants, driftwood) and excessive cleaning makes your tank biologically fragile . Your tanks can crush very easy like that 'cause everything depends only on your filter. Now let me be constructive and give you an advice on how to control this pea-puffer messy eating habits. Train them to eat inside a jar or some glass container that you submerge in your tank just during the eating sessions , then pull the jar/container out together with 80% of organics left after feeding. I use this and you're welcome : www.craftyplants.co.uk/shop/accessories-for-airplants/glassware/9cm-x-20cm-pear-shaped-terrarium/

Option Master Hey. Thanks for the feedback.
A huge chunk of the beneficial bacteria live in the filter whilst your right they absolutely do also live on wood/plant surfaces. Also the video doesn’t really show it but the back glass actually has quite a lot of algae growing across it as that never gets scraped.
I don’t actually stir up the sand up in any way so I am just taking the poop off of the surface and shaking the layer of Otto poop off the wood.
Bizarrely my puffers slurp up bloodworms with next to no mess and I have a jar to feed the ottos algae wafers as well as cucumber.
The link you posted could be interesting but my peas panic when they get ‘stuck in the ottos jar so I would be slightly hesitant to use it.
It could well be useful though to put the pieces in a bowl of tank water though keep more bacteria alive.
      Thanks.
