      burrell755 Thank you so much for the great feedback! They are brilliant little fish. For their size they are so personable. Just ask your local fish store if theirs are captive bred. Enjoy them. Sounds like you have a good set up planned.

    That tank seems pretty bare for pea puffers. From what I know they like to have a lot of hiding places. You should add more plants! I've been doing research on pea puffers because i'm planning on getting one and it seems that they actually do really well if you have cabomba plants in your tank.

    • @peapufferkingdom118
      @peapufferkingdom118  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes the Java Fern is taking a lot longer to grow out than expected. If you check out my latest video you'll see the tank as it is currently. I have heard of cabomba plants so thank you for the advice. Will look them up for sure. Will definitely be getting more plants as they get older. They live peacefully at the moment but I am aware that probably won't last longer than a year.

    How many liters is this tank ? 40 gallons are i think 160L ! Maybe is about 60 L ? It look like 60 ? Please let me know because i have now 3 girls and im planning to get a boy and move them to my 60L and i wish it will work out :)

    • @peapufferkingdom118
      @peapufferkingdom118  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey! It is 180L/40Gallons. It doesn’t look that big on screen but it has a ton of space for them. 60L should be really good for 3 females and a male. The only issue is the sell as very young so you probably won’t know if it’s a female or male for up 8-10 months.

    I was looking for pea puffer sometime ago when I have a ramshorn over population but I learned that pea puffer is some what tends to be aggressive towards other fishes so I just find an alternative and get an assassin snails. I still wanted to have one though.

    Very informative well done.
    Is that plant an Amazon sword?

    • @peapufferkingdom118
      @peapufferkingdom118  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Török Gigi Thanks Torok! It does look very similar actually but I think the amazon sword has a green stem that matches the leaves?

      The Explorer Thanks for the suggestion! Yes that would be a really interesting topic actually. Have heard numerous people keeping peas in community tanks with just one or two pea puffers. Glad to hear your community is doing well. I was debating getting Khuli loaches but haven’t bought any at the moment.

    • @chrisherrera228
      @chrisherrera228 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@theexplorer7569 do the khuli loaches compete for snails with the pea puffer? My 3 puffers won't touch anything other than the snails already in the tank.

    • @MrAlbion1
      @MrAlbion1 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've heard that Khuli Loaches generally finish off the snails after the Peas are done eating them. If you add quite a few snails once a week or so there shouldn't be too many problems.

    I have a question about pea puffers, I am planning on getting one pea puffer in my 5.5 gallon planted aquarium. So I accidentally got some ramshorn snails on some aquarium plants in my betta tank, and they have been rapidly breeding so will small ramshorn snails be a good main food source? I may mix in some frozen bloodworms too

    • @peapufferkingdom118
      @peapufferkingdom118  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey. In short yes. However it's always good to mix up their diet where possible. Smaller snails will actually be easier for them to eat. I have an episode on the different types of food they can eat which may be useful for you also. Snails and Bloodworms are a good mix.

    • @FishinMichigan1
      @FishinMichigan1 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jah Rastafari Yes, I will also probably get some Amano shrimp or something to clean up some of the dead snails. And I will also be manually cleaning it up.

    • @FishinMichigan1

      Jah Rastafari Yes I will be extra extra careful lol. At my local pet store I believe the tanks that they sell pea puffers in have shrimp too.

    Hi new sub here! I have a dwarf pea puffer and I have had him for almost a year now and he suddenly isn’t wanting to eat! He has done this before but was tired of what I was feeding him so when I gave him frozen blood worms he was just fine. Water levels are fine, temperature is fine and he has a wide variety of different foods and the newest I got yesterday was tiny baby pond snails and some frozen mysis shrimp and this morning I still see a few of baby snails, but don’t see the others but it still looks like he’s not eaten, he won’t eat at all any of the new food and old and no belly bulge. He is in a 10 gal tank, he is swinging around like normal but he does hide from me sometimes but he did this same thing last time but it’s gotten me worried. What are signs of stress and what could it be that’s going on?

    • @peapufferkingdom118
      @peapufferkingdom118  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Amanda Smith Sorry to hear that. I would see if the pea is getting skinnier, darker and if it’s refusing food then de-worming might be the answer. Fingers crossed for you!

    • @agds91078
      @agds91078 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Pea Puffer Kingdom even though I’ve had him for almost a year he still needs to be dewormed? If so what do I need to get to treat him for that? Any info I will greatly appreciate 🤗 he looks absolutely normal but belly isn’t as bulged out as it usually is but he’s swimming around and doing his thang just don’t seem interested in any of the foods I’ve offered ☹️

    • @peapufferkingdom118
      @peapufferkingdom118  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Amanda Smith If he’s a year old it might have been something he’s picked up from a food source which is unusual but possible. If you are in the U.S PraziPro is very good. If UK based Esha NDX might work. It didn’t work for me but it has done for others. I actually ordered PraziPro from the U.S which was a bit more expensive. So he’s not eating at all when you put the food in? Good luck! 🙂

    • @agds91078
      @agds91078 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Pea Puffer Kingdom I’m in the US and nope not eating at all unless he’s are a snail I put in a couple days ago but I haven’t seen a belly bulge at all. He will come up to the food and act interested but will not bite at it

    • @peapufferkingdom118
      @peapufferkingdom118  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Amanda Smith That’s usually signs if Parasites I believe. I would definitely medicate if it getting skinnier too. They can be so tricky to know what’s wrong for sure.

  • @Cory_Dora
    @Cory_Dora 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    How long did you have them in qt for internal parasites?

    • @peapufferkingdom118
      @peapufferkingdom118  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey. As I bought them all together they went straight into the tank (after it was cycled) and medicated them for I believe 4-6 weeks. I learnt this the hard way when I hadn’t bought medication for my first few peas that ended up all getting internal parasites.

  • @Arbear64

    Listen guy, I am not telling you how to run your show, but I have raised Peas for about 25 years now and you are going to need a lot more plants in that tank if your going to house that many peas in there. If your going to house more than two peas your going to need a tank filled with plants not just a few hear and there. They need large leaf plants like Java ferns, Crypto, Amazon swords, jungle val. If you don't plan on getting somemore plants in there soon, you want have but one or two left in about a week.
