    Really glad to see a patrol rifle course with qual put on. Malfunctions suck to go through of you don’t do them often for sure. It’s helps to understand soft vs hard trigger malfunctions before doing malfunction drills. Lastly the stock on top of the shoulder as a position of retention can still be fired from just like that pistol position can be which is always a plus. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

    Homestead training center I love that place. Been there several times for our USCG qualifications and just shooting on my own and love being able to really train there.

      Everyone should learn on a Milspec trigger, get good with that and progress to something smoother.

    looks like a decent class to get their feet wet, hopefully they will take the initiative and work on developing their skills on their own time. dry fire and mag changes and most malfunction drills can be preformed without ammo and a range.

      I mean… I can explain for myself. This is my job in the military lml. Weapons, weapons training, FID, firearms safety and functionality lml. And one of the key safety features is to place that weapon on safe FIRST(if able), SECONDLY remove the source of feed, THEN you lock it to the rear and FINALLY clear that jam as best as possible. But you can switch second and third action, as they did in the video they locked it first and then removed the mag. Well instructed.

      @@SquigglesTheSnake By the numbers, you are right. One is supposed to use the bolt catch/bolt release as it was designed. However, a good shooter knows that the "by the book" answer isn't always the only or even best answer.
      Source: Me, a military and police firearms instructor for the last decade or so.

    Cool vlog! I saw multiple different brands and lengths of rifles. Are these issued or do officers get to buy their own rifle from a list and qualify with it?

      Both. Some are issued, others are personal rifles. And yes, they have to meet certain guidelines.

    Being an ex 95B, the Army guy talking about being trained using low ready I had the same eye opener. I was taught (high ready) by an ex Israeli soldier and I fell in love with it. SEALS apparently use this method not sure about SF.

      IIRC Mike Glover in a video said that he was trained to use Low Ready while in USSF as well because all Army's kill-houses have overhead catwalks for the instructors so even SFs are trained that way to prevent flagging them

      @@DonPatrono and Shawn Ryan (ex-US Navy SEAL & founder of Vigilance Elite) responded stating that the SEALs train high ready even though they have the catwalks and that it's the instructors responsibility to move.....goes to show the difference in mind set and trust in the competency the different branches have in their elites!

    Retired Miami-Dade police here but worked with numerous Miami police officers, top notch cops. Not familiar with That over the shoulder technic, definitely going to try it when I do my training.

    They don't let us use sights unless we can plaster targets from atleast 25 meters with them factory irons

    You made a great video again, thank you. But I have a question, the police officers have different gun configurations. Where does it come from? Can the police officers buy their own rifles and use them on patrol?

      Some of the rifles you see in the video were issued to the officers by the department, others are rifles that the officers purchased on their own.

    Please do more patrolling in the Little Haiti area where crime has skyrocketed drugs has skyrocketed and shooting has also skyrocketed.
    Not all residents of this area have a code of silence so why don't you guys use the opportunity of when the community is giving you tips on crime or other issues please address them thank you so much
