    Fish Reveal makes it so easy to see the fish. Fish reveal gimmick or game changer?

    I own Simrad on one boat and Raymarine on the other. Simrad has very rudimentary waypoint management while Raymarine has outstanding waypoint management. Key features that Simrad is missing: 1) waypoint grouping 2) ability to turn on or off waypoint names for a group 3) different size waypoint icons (fish icons are tiny) 4) ability to bulk edit a group of waypoints 5) ability to filter waypoints by a string and then batch edit the filtered group
    The lack of these features makes the Simrad unusable for most fishermen and cruisers. I do not have a dog in this hunt other than making people aware of the shortcomings of Simrad.

      Most fisherman?? Ive never had that type of an issue..... Coming from a Garmin unit

    • @snookman9920
      @snookman9920 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bobbertee5945 you must fish a small area and/or have a small number of waypoints. I have a GARMIN on my pontoon and it works fine for a small lake. For fishing the gulf I prefer a more sophisticated unit like Raymarine.

    Would really be great to show the size/footprint limitations of a typical external install and also what is required to remove the unit from the boat when not in use. For example, if you wanted to remove the unit from the boat in between uses.

    Hi.
    On my new Evo 3 S mfd, I see horizontal lines across the screen when I have stopped. These lines disappear when underway and captures bottom.
    How do I stop seeing lines on this screen when stopped/ anchored up?

    What’s your favorite transducer today if cost was not an issue. I plan to use it primarily between 100-650 feet

    • @AquaLifestyle
      @AquaLifestyle  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Active Scan Skimmer Med/High transom mount transducer is a great option and will work well at those depths (The Medium CHIRP element). If you are looking for an non transom mount then the ultimate set up would be a single or dual thru hull transducer (depending on dead rise) such as the Structure Scan 3D Thru Hull (also need a 3D Module) and a xSonic 175 CHIRP transducer for traditional/CHIRP soundings.

    What transducer is recommended for all the features on this video? Thanks Pat

      The Simrad Active Scan transducer is a great option. It is an all in one transducer. See the link below.

      Brilliant affordable transducer for inshore and estuary , lake, etc

    The size of the arcs don’t determine the size of the fish. The length of the arc determines how long the fish was under the A scope for. If you go over the same sea floor again at a faster speed the arc lines will be smaller. If your boat is still they will be long like worms because it is pinging the same object over and over and not receiving new information there for it passes the same info up to the transducer more times per second than it would if you were going at a faster speed. The colour of the sign is what determines the size of the returns. In this instance above: Red sign = bigger denser returns (larger fish) and yellow, green and blue are smaller returns but this can also mean that the objects are on the edge of the pings cone hence why the bottom goes Red, green, yellow then blue.

      But it would b relative surely...if u r going slow bigger fish would have larger arcs than smaller fish as they r detected for longer...if you go fast same logic...right?

    Hello.
    There are 2 x versions of the 9” Evo3S.
    - Screen with physical Knob / tabs on RHS.
    - Screen without physical knob / tabs on RHS.
    Besides the physical RHS knob / tab, what differences exist between both units from a feature, functionality and processor point of view?

      Not sure on this one but think you are getting them confused with the GO series. I don't believe Simrad offers an NSS Evo3s 9” with no controls on the right hand side. NSO Evo3s starts at screen size of 16”. That could be confusing but not for a 9” screen. All NSS series units come with controls on the right side.

    Does the NSS EVO3 have the fish reveal capability also? I’m running the Active Imaging 3-1 transducer.

    • @AquaLifestyle
      @AquaLifestyle  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It should. If not then it should with the latest software update for that model that can be acquired from the support section of the Simrad web site.

    Would you recommend running down scan with fish reveal over using normal sonar?

    • @AquaLifestyle
      @AquaLifestyle  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Both serve their purpose but I find I do run Down Scan with Fish Reveal over traditional sonar more often. It is great for identifying both structure and fish and I have found the more I use it the more I like it.

    what transducer is best for this model? deep sea water 200 to 400feet . thanks

    • @AquaLifestyle
      @AquaLifestyle  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends on what type of boat you have and whether you want a through hull transducer or transom mount. Go to the link below to get the best suggestion directly from Simrad.
