I live in New Caledonia & our local dealer here (Altomarine) isn't very cooperative. I bought a NSS9 evo3 and I was told to read the user manual when I needed help from them. Not very customer friendly if you want my opinion. Fortunately, you have these great & very helpful videos that enabled me to fully understand my new Simrad "toy" without needing to rely on a non-caring local dealer. Many thanks for that.
This is the best Simrad video I could find, great job guys, super helpful ! Just bought a Chaparral 267 SSX with dual simrad screens and this was way more helpful than the user guides. Thank you !!!
Why do my engine gauges on my Dash have the back light on them always when my sounder is in operation even though my engine is switched off as well as my Garmin engine display connected to backbone to my 90 HP Suzuki Engine ? Is there a way to turn the illumination off from the engine gauges aswell as turning off the Garmin engine management system that is linked to my NSSEvo3S 16 inch Sounder without losing them talking to each other Please ?
If you are travelling along on water and spot a say a tree branch in the water how do I mark that spot at speed so I know its there on my way back please ?
If the sonar is operating when a waypoint is created does the unit automatically fill in the waypoints depth field with the sonars depth reading at that point?
I have a cmap Chip in my small boat unit for the inland waterways. how do I leave it in the unit but go back to the ocean usage with the preprogramed info? New Cruise 5 with northeast cmap chip.
During the editing a waypoint section, I didn't see an option to move the location of a waypoint. Can you click on the waypoint and drag it to new location?
Then you will need a AI 3in1 transdcuer, which will give you 2d, downscan and sidescan. Per the future, you will need both, 3d module and 3d transducer.
If I install a dual NSSevo3s display with a B175H-W 1KV transducer and a B175L 1KV transducer can I plug 1 into each display without the need for a S5100
Wish you guys have a better reseller here in Sydney, Australia. Lack of support n basic customer service made me chose Garmin gpsmap series over your nssevo range.
Go to the Waypoints menu, under Tracks section. Once you have deleted them, go to Storage > Waypoints > Purge otherwise even if deleted, those files will still user internal memory.
If you use it for 2d sonar and chart, then one screen would be enough. If you want to view radar, autopilot and other instruments/data, then you'd better off with two screens.
There's a lot of great information in this video. I am wondering, when I navigate to one of my waypoints, it always draws the red line Over land. Is there any way to make it only go over water?? I live in Boca Raton Florida. Thank you so much!
I really appreciate these videos, But I do have one problem, You always talk about the top of the range equipment (NSS EVO 3S)and what it can do and how to do it, BUT, There are thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of people that cannot afford the top of the range equipment, For example I have the GO7 and my friend has he Go 5 I do not see you producing videos to help us out with the best way to do stuff and what our modest unit can do, But maybe the units that are under 1000 USD are not that important, only the 5- 10,000 USD unit provide sufficient profit to matter to you? But you know there are many people who just have a 17-21 ft boat that loves to fish and need some help too!

Wheel key. I have mine programmed to turn of the transducers when I get on the lift. Short press for the main and long press for the 3 in 1.

Sure you could drop waypoints and use the icons to help you reference them

Yes you can directly connect the B164. You'll need the 7 to 9 pins adapter cable, ref. 000-13313-001

You will need to use a C-Map Reveal chart card in the unit. Make sure your unit is compatible.

NO, you cannot operate the autopilot from a mobile phone nor from a laptop.

Yes you can, it is a straight forward connection.
My C-map doesnt have photo overlay from factory its greyed out

Does NSS EVO3S have autorouting (Autopilot) system??
It does indeed. You need to have a C-Map chart card in the unit to have that feature active.
