Excellent video mate. Very entertaining as usual love the way you piece together all the highlights. yep it is the land of high Adventure alright one of my favourite places. Spent a month there after the previous OCR exploring every track I was allowed on amazing place. It is where the rally convinced me of its capabilities, fully loaded and solo it just walked over everything much easier then my DR and definitely much easier then my BM 1150 😅. Even the soft bulldust of the Starkle and the goldfields track did not faze it much, what an amazing little bike. Not much fun to dewater though, thankfully it only happened once. Love ❤️ the way you sent the canary to the Starkle track lol
This is bucket list stuff for me! Do I take my own DRZ though and make my own way or join a tour like this and flog someone else's bike? 🤣 And have support on hand if needed. I think I would have chosen the scenic route over the Starky route for sure. Having access to a private property is pretty cool. The Frenchman's Track looks pretty wild! I recognise that creek crossing after the one you had to carry the bikes through. I've seen that on heaps of vids. You didn't shy away from the difficult parts of the Tele Track either! Well done! The Ansett Resort looks stunning! I'd stay there! Nice job getting to the tip! Great video mate! 👍
I stopped just 2 mins into this to ask what special techniques might be used when a bike go down under water? I know you got to get it out ASAP but is there any preferred method to help get her up/going again? SO I'm back for part 2 of my post; unbelievable footage of beautiful places & I couldn't make it thru day one of that place. Some hard riders/tough too. Makes the DRz400 shine & I like it for simplicity. Don't need a lot of electronics on your bike, the only one I might want for the street side of riding is an ABS system but just on the streets. Great video peace
If it hasn't sucked water into the cylinder, you may need to drain water from carburettor and get it started. If it has sucked water in, you may need to remove the spark plug, remove and dry the air filter, drain the water from the airbox and exhaust and then try to start it. You may have water mixed with the oil which will need to be changed as soon as possible. The DRZ400 hire bikes have been specially set-up for speedy recovery after a drowning.
I'll be evaluating all bikes until I've got the money to buy but the DRz400 hangs right in the top of my list. I've never dumped a bike but I've seen a few go under but never knew the lengths they went thru to fix it? The faster it's dealt with the better & what I saw here, they might have needed to squeeze out the filter but I know all those bikes were taken care of by the staff working the ride. Quite an impressive event. Never heard of nice rides over such distance and providing the bikes/staff to make it all nice. That was really a cool thing to see.... better to experience but I got the idea... peace
Does anyone happen to know where I might find some photo's from the Pajinka Wilderness Lodge BEFORE it was abandoned? Searches turn up pretty much nothing useful. Seems like the place is more popular since it's abandonment than when it was operational. There's a million pics of the ruin, but I want to see what it was like BEFORE.
@@TwoWheelerSparky Yea, these were geared up and better on the transport sections. A wide range gearbox would be a great mod. But, as you say bulletproof.
One of the best adventure videos that I have seen on TH-cam …cheers.
Thanks mate. I really appreciate that comment.
Good underwater footage of the crossing 👍
Thanks. I was trying to capture how challenging it is to cross with a rocky bottom.
Watching this on a Bali bike tour, love from the whole crew bro
Thanks boys. Enjoy your ride.
In under a minutes, you've covered all kinds of terrain I never want to ride on! lol

The Cape..always a great adventure. How about the mighty DRZ🚤👍
I have a new found respect for the mighty DRZ now.
The judges give a10 to old mate who bounced himself clean off the bike using that tree! Great vid

Thanks. You already have the perfect bike for it. But it's so nice to just fly up and have everything available and your bike serviced every night!
Awesome!

Nice job Sean. Hit us up for a ride if you’re down in Vic 👍🏻
Will definitely do that.
Hell yeah 🤪
Out of interest where would you rate the trip to cape York against your other adventures? (Simpson desert etc) thanks great video

I found the original travel brochures online and saved them. I'll see if I can find them again.
@@ShonkyProductions Yes please! I'd LOVE to see that.

The 5 Speed DRZ is horrible on long high speed trips; but their immortality is the reason they haven't changed in over 20 years 👍

“There’s always one in the group” next minute you can’t make it to the start! Karma’s a bitch mate.
