Got to hand it to Gary, a new 4WD and straight into the action. 👍 Have a fun and safe holiday season to you all, and looking forward to seeing more of your touring adventures in 2025. Bring on the 80 Series. 😁
1) well done TT for the 2024 season. Great work bro.👍 2) No, I didn't type this, used voice to text 😁 3) Some more FREE advice after yet another remote breakdown incident with WATER.. Anyone heading anywhere with major water or rain, ENSURE TO BRING A SINGLE ITEM OF INSURANCE - BOTTLE OF FUEL DOCTOR!! THIS one...happened just 3 weeks ago. A mate, his brother both in Patrols, the inlaw with a 79 cruiser (and friend with first series 79 that was fine) all coped around 15L each into their tanks of watery af diesel after a dodgy refill. After much debate (realising the jerry's also all had included water and a previous similar incident in remote WA which worked), it was decided to drop a 1 x bottle of FD 1 x litre into one of the Patrols and one in the 79. The #2 Patrol didn't want to 'risk' having the FD break down water and go through the fuel pump so he stuck with just draining the water catch filter. 51.5kms later the Patrol with NO FD stopped. Would not start. Even though both the Patrol and 79 which poured the bottle of FD in each tank did at times smoke, stuttered, and stalled, although after tanks ran down to 1/4 and they topped up with diesel, BOTH started to and continued to run sweet. Now all of the boys are stuck with the Patrol which wouldn't start, until he had enough as pissed off after finding out recovery cost Vs new engine, drained tank and put in a full 20L jerry contaminated with around 4 litres water...AND then a 1 litre bottle of FD. Once in his main tank, all shook shit out of the Patrol now with 16L of Diesel, 4L of water and 1L of FD inside. The Patrol started...it then ran bit ruff and smokey for the next 20+30kms, then started to run smoother and quieter. Two weeks later, fuel pumps on both the Patrols removed for a new replacements but when checked - Fine..no issues! NONE! All I can do is recommend (after 35yr 4x4 experience including 6@ DAKAR) to EVERYONE doing remote tracks - FFS...BUY AND USE FUEL DOCTOR...it will cover your arse, NOT ONLY by adding a few cap fulls on each fuel refill to prevent any water that may have stuck through either by servo or jerry can by getting through..BUT, when SHTF remotely and have a serious water breech either by refuel or by in through fuel cap during water crossing...at least you have an option by adding a bottle of FD to the tank to and will give you way more chance than to continue on driving without it..all for $20! NOTE; NO I am NOT sponsored by FD at all and are NOT receiving any other payment or goods whatsoever, I'm advising because I know from experience it works AND I don't want any of the bro's out there no matter what 4x4 they drive, to become a vehicle statistic all for the sake of a $20 option. Least just carry one so you have the option IF needed. ALSO, another safety option for just a one off payment of around $100, for those going REMOTE, ALSO install an AM CB, so when you lose the crew on the UHF (once they go over 5km away)...at least you can reach over for the AM CB mic and make contact again and stay in contact for up to over 35km apart. (once back in 3km range, go back to UHF) Hope this info was helpful. Any questions about AM CB, ask away. Keep up great work TT! Cheers 🍻 F. Hey Tyler, Just want to wish you and your family a merry Christmas and a great new year. Thanks for all the awesome videos and adventures you created in 24. Cheers😎
seeing the young lad along in the passenger seat has been good to get me out and about with mine, (he wont take his eyes of the ipad unless we are off the black top) appreciate it guys.
Tyler and co, BLOODY LOVED THIS mate! Long form worked form me, and your style works well and even music selection. It was lacking a bit of the ‘Burto tongue’ but made me want to be there with you guys. Great show :-)
Awesome video bud, looks like you guys had an epic trip, seen a few channels make a full episode out of 2 of the tracks you guys did. Great content. #fortheboys 😂. Love it. "Let's get it done Burto" 🤠 little legend
Cholmondeley Creek. Cholmondeley is an old English name and is pronounced "Chumley". Fun Fact. I watched the original episodes and this compilation is also well worth watching. Great editing and appropriate soundtracks 👏👏 01:13:30 I suspect Demmi had something to do with that edit - the broad shoulders, narrow hips ... the men's V-shape that women can't resist (sorry Burto). Oh, btw, buy Burto some brush bars 😁😁
Awesome movie 👍💯. Wishing you, the family and crew an awesome Christmas and New Year. Looking forward to all your new content. Time to sell the big GU, buy a 105, space cab chop it. Convert the 1HZ into a 1HDT. Make it the most capable solo rig you can. Please 🎉🎉💯👍
Hey guys, loved the episode just in regards to the GU It could be a good idea for the future to look at upgrading the intercooler as in a couple of the shots. You can see It’s weeping from the crimps in the tanks. Just one less thing to go wrong while you guys are on the trails. Keep doing what you guys are doing, loving it !!
Just put a 5 inch lift on the prado, and tyler uploads, and its christmas tommorrow, and i have a trip in a week to up north along the beach. Doesnt get better.
@TylerThompson90 doesn't compare to yours tho. Alignment shop just flattened the tabs on my IFS lower control arm adjustment. So I'm busy hammering them back out and will weld em back in place. Not a fun job. And still need to finish the alignment.
Lovely ep and spots guys, But for me to put my 4wd through its paces and the track not lead to a epc reef or creek fishing spot and not have a 3,7 to 5m tinny with me not worth it
Merry Christmas Tyler and team. Please pin this Tony Crooke (the gme guy with the beard) from yt: theouterside needs you to sign a petition to stop nsw tracks from closing. Hopefully the debate goes national, but see how we go. Cheers
Burto is worth his weight in gold. The confidence knowing you’ve got someone that’ll unf&$k pretty well any mechanical issue you get. Epic!
don’t give him a big head
Thank you for taking us along your adventures in 2024. Wishing you all a great Christmas and a wonderful 2025.
You too mate, thanks for the support
