I've owned my grenadier a since January and done about 12000km now. I'm 181cm and size 11. I never wear boots, and only drive wearing shoes or sandals. its doesn't bother me at all. However, also worth noting I've never driven more than four hours in one go. The door handle sticking is annoying as it happens when we have big rain also, and my car play maps still doesn't work properly. Other than that, the car has been faultless and i love it. 100% would buy it again.
I've had my grenny for 3K+ miles and I absolutely love it. Thank you Ronny because it was your real-world offroad tests and your credibility that convinced me to buy one. I do miss my old FJ62 but after driving it for 34 years and 400,000+ miles it was time to get something new and the Grenadier fulfilled my needs. Please keep the honesty, the objectivity and the Grenadier content coming.
UK driver of a specced up Fieldmaster since January 2024. I'm 6ft and size 8, driven it in boots (forestry) and trainers and the left foot pad has absolutely never been an issue, didn't even notice it from day one. Regarding the sensors going off when off road - just select OFF ROAD mode from the overhead panel and it cancels them. I am delighted with this vehicle, so much better than my 2012 LR Defender.
Press the off-road button and that turns the sensors off, changes the traction control activation and changes the engine mapping for off-road driving. The door locks are a known issue that is fixed at the first service. The footwell works for me as I prefer sitting more upright like you’re in a chair with knees bent at closer to 90 degrees. I’m 6’1” and push the seat right back and lift it to its maximum height. I have the petrol that has a bit more go than the diesel. It has worse fuel consumption as a trade off. Very happy with the car and about to head to the Gibson desert 😀😀
I think Mr. Dahl’s point is that both ways to deactivate sensors, including off road mode, must be reset every time you turn the car off. Minor nuisance that doesn’t necessarily bother me but it would be nice to include a fix in the next software update. Hope Ineos listens to the Oracle of Off-Road.
@@SaltShack I guess that is a safety first requirement and pressing a button is not a big inconvenience. The annoying aspect of turning the car off is when your diff locks are engaged and they disengage and you can not re-engage the diff locks until the wheel sensors pick up a different wheel speed and the light stops flashing. My advice is don’t turn your vehicle off when you are on the side of a mountain behind someone who has been stuck for an extended period of time. The other issue is the rear camera turns off when you are in off-road mode. That is very inconvenient when you are in a tight spot. Other than that, the car is really capable and crawls up some pretty amazing obstacles without having to be heavy on the right foot. It’s a great car, it’s just a bit quirky 😀
@@SaltShackford rangers and similar cars ect have had this for the last 8yrs. Not an issue. All are the same, as soon as you start the car and don’t want beeping, push the button.
the part where you guys are around the fire, talking about the lump left foot thing....your pup there enjoying the lounge chair and fire and his human companions is just what life is all about.
Grenadier owner since April 23. 15k miles. 187cm and size 10 feet (UK). Hump is fine and you get used to it. My tip is to raise the seat as much as you can so that the difference between left and right feet/leg angle position is minimal. Great review Ronny. Thanks
I have no intention of purchasing this vehicle. I don't go off-road; I don't have any toys, no dirt bikes, no atvs, no side by side. I drive a FWD. I'm just here to watch and support great content.
Hi Ronny- I’ve had my Grenadier for a year and a half. 180cm, size 42, almost always wear boots. The foot lump is very comfortable for me. I prefer it to my 200 series where I’m constantly looking for a comfortable position and almost always end up with leg pain after a long journey. In the Grenadier I’ve had no such issues, even in boots, driving 8-10 hours off-road a day. Totally agree about the offroad comfort- it just feels more planted and there’s very little bouncing around. I’ve got the Africa spec trailmaster, so no adblue! It’s the perfect vehicle for me!
Great video as always - keep the Grenadier content coming. Had mine for about 2 months. Had AdBlue on my last vehicle - the filling issue will be because you didn’t have the magnetic collar. You need to ask the attendant for it if it isn’t attached to the bowser. Problem with containers is they cost more than at the pump. After about 150k km including remote travel AdBlue was a non-issue for me. Grenadier parking sensors can be disabled permanently in the settings. Totally agree it’s not a perfect vehicle, but by some margin it’s the best on the market for my use case. I’m 180cm, size 10 shoe, footrest is comfortable for me in all footwear on long drives (but yet to do a 12hr stint in the drivers seat).
We drove out of there in a 2.4 naturally aspirated Diesel Hilux on ARB suspension. We had a full load of camping gear on board and 9 PSI in the 750x16 tyres. I was tail end on a 4WD club trip and the only vehicle that made it up without assistance.
Good Insights and honest review of the Pros and Cons of the Grenny. I've owned mine for 7 months, done 6,000 miles several trips being out for up to two weeks at a time. I did a rear seat delete, custom interior build, Added REDARC Manager 30 with 100ah Lithium batt. The hump on the right side isn't an issue for NA spec trucks as we are left hand drive . The niggles you point out are some of the same things I find a tad bit annoying about mine. Are these little issues going to make me say the truck is unacceptable, Nope! I think the the good things this vehicle offers by far outweigh the small nuisance's. Is the the best Factory built 4x4? I'll never say there is a perfect 4wheel drive. But for the type of vehicle I want to use, it is purpose built and suits my needs and met my expectations in many ways.
met a blok in the carpark the other day - 1st Greandier I have seen up close - he commented that the vehicle has a 150 litre main tank installed - the vehicle also had a really really nice ( and very usefull) "under roof rack" unside the rear load area -
Most cars, even 4wd, have a reclined seating position but the Grenadier is quite upright and I’ve found a number of advantages. Visibility, and leaning forward for more isn’t an abb workout. Feet sit fairly flat on the floor and the left foot hump isn’t an issue. Not being tossed around off road I call the Shakira effect - being upright means you’re pivoting at the hips not the neck (“head toss”) as you do when you are more reclined and the backrest is holding your torso in place. It’s also a mistake to think sitting upright is a problem for long drives as it’s actually the ergonomically correct seated position.
I like the “dead pedal” on my US version Grenadier so much, I bought an aftermarket version for my Jeep. I’m 6’ 2 / 188 cm size 12/46 boot. It’s comfortable! I live in Colorado so mud is not an issue. I spend a lot of time in the desert. The Grenadier has been stellar on the sand and rock. It’s more sure footed and better tuned than the Jeeps, Broncos and Land Cruisers I’ve owned. Zero regrets in buying the Gren. I kept my LX 100 series for 23 years and almost 300,000 miles I’m planning the same for the Grenadier. These are the keys my kids will take away from me. I love it.
Good review and keep the Grenny content coming. Left foot issue only became a problem when doing 8 to 10 hour long drives. Left knee started to lock up. Height 174cm shoe size 8 and no boots only running shoes.
Hi Ronny. Checked out your Skippy while having mine serviced at the agent while passing through Perth. Enjoyed your review and have to agree it's not too bad for an early production vehicle! I love mine.... which has just ticked over 30,000 km and 21,000 of those in the last 5 months towing a 2500kg off-road caravan across outback Australia from Brisbane and still a fair way to get home yet. I'm not a fan of the blacktop so it's spent most of the time on the lesser tracks through Central Aus and the Top End/Kimberley ....it eats corrugations, bull dust, rocks & ruts. On those surfaces it's a very planted and stable tow machine with no issues on the black top. It's all a matter of getting to understand the car and how its systems work. The foot rest is not an issue for me however not tall at 172cm and drive with size 10 boots. Average consumption since day one is 14.25L/100km. Cheers.
Adblue filler has a magnet function to stop it being put into the diesel tank on trucks. You can get a magnet sleeve to put over the nozzle to help it flow. However they don’t always help so from a 10litre bottle would be easier.
I am 5'10", size 10 boot size, travelled nearly 18,000 Klm since 12/2023 combined on road/off road, right hand drive Trialmaster. Longest trip, 6 hours stopped once for fuel, left foot issue, NOT AN ISSUE at all.
Been an owner for 15 months in UK and I'm a fencing and forestry contractor, changed tyres to cooper stt pros, wet clay on our lanes and in forestry no problems. Down side is you cant put in axle lockers in high range. But centre lock does 98% of stuff. I'm 5ft 10, 18 stone and size 10 feet. Footrest is noticeable but you do get used to it. Steering lock isn't great and I've come from a 130 defender.
Such an awesome vehicle. Great review Ronny always a pleasure to watch. Spoken to a few lucky owners and they absolutely love the drive & I can see why. Looks super comfortable with those Recaro seats !
I used to watch 4wd 24/7 all the time but I got over their reality tv bs and found some who actually know what they are doing and makes actually interesting and helpful content love you Ronny
6’2”. Size 9 feet (UK). Owned mine since August 2023. 11,000 miles on the clock. Longest drive in one day was 500 miles (800km). Foot hump never really bothered me. I too take my shoe off, or wear Crocs. I stretch my leg out and slide foot between side of hump and under brake pedal. Yes, in the ideal world I’d like to magic the hump away, but it genuinely doesn’t bother me.
Great and honest review - appreciate the effort you are going too to bring these to your audience. I've had my Grenadier for about a month (abt 2000km) and can honestly say that I don't notice the "left foot thing" even with light boots on. I am 173cm (5'8" in imperial) size 7 or euro 41 shoe size. One thing I have noticed (as has SWMBO) is the firmness of the seat bases compared to other cars I've owned. I'm interested to know if others have noticed/felt the firmness??
I’ve never driven a Grenadier, never even seen one here in Central America. But what I have done - every time I drive an automatic - is left foot braking. Learned it from a Scandinavian rally driver in the 80’s and have practiced it ever since. Learned left foot braking, Ronny
Thanks for your honest review, comments and feedback in this vid. My left foot thing (6’1”, 12 shoesize) is similar to yours Ronny. Barefoot or “normal” footwear is fine. That said I modified my footwell by removing the OEM floor tray then added 2 layers of dynamat and a carpet tile. Worked for me on a 7000km round trip to Emu Junction. In the car every day for minimum of 4hrs at least.
Left foot rest is a non-issue for me with boots. I’m 181cm size 9.5. Driven 12k since last Dec. Love the car! I had the door handle sticking issue when it got wet, but fixed at service center. No problem since.
I have just started driveing my 130 defender after a 6 year rebuild stearing feels just like you described the grenadier after 6 years of amaroks as my daily Never noticed it befor i gat the amarok
I’m 190cm with size 11 shoes. Bit over 30k on my Grenadier including a Canning stick route trip. The Foot rest won’t be an issue for most and hasn’t bothered me at all. Have the Brown Davis long range tank which solves the main issue with this vehicle for long range touring!
Great review! I've had mine (diesel) for just over 12m. AdBlue consumption varies between 800 and 1100km per litre depending on throttle load. I buy 10L in my own container from the bowser at a truck stop and top up every 5-6 thousand km. Am 175cm size 10 boots ...the footrest is a non issue...unless you want it to be😂. BTW: Re the parking sensors etc.. you haven't forgotten the "off road" switch in the overhead console have you...which attends to various sensors and optimises the vehicle when you venture off the bitunen😊
Hi from the UK, the raised floor under the left foot is not an issue at all for me . I’ve been driving autos for years and to honest to me it’s just like any other auto foot plate . I’m 5.10 size 10 shoe and 94kgs
Got my Grenadier (Trialmaster) end July 2024, length 1.85m, 95kg, shoe size nr 9 and travelled through Namibia quite extensive and no it never bothered me. Our country is vast and often travel up to a 1-kilometer in a day, and No not bother so far. The longest drive (one time) Windhoek - capital Namibia to Cape Town SA, and loved the entire trip.
5' 10'' 10.5 Bootsize 12k travelled, no issues with the footwell now!.but wasn't that keen at first, and like you said nothings perfect, (Apart from the video)😂 from Steve near Chester England 🏴 where the Roman's once lived.
5,11 , size 11, the foot est after a day it did not bother me, I have done 8000 miles in 10 weeks, 21 countries. Currently in Morocco. I think it is a great platform, for an overlanding vehicle
Adblu it’s not a blocked breather hose you need the magnetic filler adapter for a truck pump. Some servos have em on the pump. 6’ size 11. No issues. Bornholme beach is a piece a cake for the grenny- I always lock up anyway on the way back out.
Spot on, mate. Mine's got 10k on it - mixture of UK forestry and hill farming with general family duty and motorway use, plus regular 3.5t trailer towing. Bloody love it. I've owned every UK market pick-up, '90s Shoguns (Pajero) and every LR Disco and Defender product going back 30 years. Few niggles like the handles (lube up the latches with a penetrating grease or motorcycle chain lube) and the HVAC being useless, but all sorted under warranty (HVAC works now, but still crap - that air-con ok in Australia?). First service makes a huge difference to smoothness and my dealer is great (Lloyd Carlisle) - way better than LR. Excellent off road (better than Disco/Defender), tows well, grips in mud very well, a bit boaty on road, but fluid and comfortable and will sit all day at 85mph. Sits on rough forest roads all day long, 35mph, happy as owt. As for comfort, I'm 6'2" (188cm) and I've got size 11UK (12US, 47 Euro) feet and mostly drive in forestry steel toes, hiking boots or Wellingtons - no word of a lie, I genuinely never notice the foot rest. Not on the test drive, not in daily use, not when I just got back from a 10hr stint in UK road traffic hell... It's by far the best 4x4 I've owned and way more engaging too - proper pride of ownership of a car that's a workhorse and inspires further adventures. The only thing I don't like is high speed (60mph+) vagueness on narrow bumpy roads (but I'm a hooligan) and the small reversing camera. I get the sensor frustration, but at least they turn off in Off-Road mode or with the switch - better than most. Also, I think it's a bargain - mine cost me £10k less than a similar spec Defender and only £4k more than a Hilux.
I love the Grenadier and had conversations with engineers designing prototype regarding what we require in a real usable 4x4. I said a Minespec vehicle which sounds like there is one in planning at the moment. I currently own Defender 110 which is terrific for my requirements currently.Next could be this vehicle but the Add Blue is a big turn off for me as I have witnessed so many AB issues of late. So more the petrol version. This is very heavy compared to my Defender which is another consideration. The sensors are a big issue, and this is where the Defender comes into its own but Ineos are forced into the high tech updates in the European standards for new vehicles. Also I had a bloke approach my Defender the other day asking me how my Grenadiere drove.Wow,❤
@@SaltShack range indeed, very well pointed out. So the Grenadier has a 90 liter fueltank, and I average about 13,5 liters per 100km, giving me a theoretical range of 660 km. You probably use only 11 liters per 100 km giving you 810 km. Both are high numbers allowing you ample time to find a gas station. And you have an extra 150 km to think about range. I (in Europe) was never out of range of a fuel station, so I am curious what kind of distances you have to overcome in your country before you see the next gaspump and accept the hassle of this adblue thing?
@@Fr99763 only for long overlander trips off-road like Cape York, Gibb River Rd, Simpson desert etc. 600km is plenty if on the hwy unless towing but even then longest between fuel stops is around 300km.
ThankU for a very interesting video. Always nice to to watch! I have been waiting for this summary, since I am considering a diesel Grenadier. To day I am driving a Defender Td5 110" 2006. I love the car but want to go more modern 😅 The other candidate is the new Toyota Land Cruiser 76 2,8 V4. I would love to see a comparison between those two cars 😊
I'm currently touring around WA, and have done about 33000km. The foot rest is not really an issue BUT it would be nice if it wasn't there. I'm 6ft, a size 12 shoe and yes it can be more comfortable without shoes but not necessary.
I love these things. I bought a Defender 90 last October and I like it but I really wanted the Grenadier but they weren't available and they are just a little out of my budget. Maybe in a few years I can find a nice used one that was a pavement princess in my budget.
I'm 184 cm with size 12 feet. The left foot thing is simply not an issue for me, and I often wear boots while driving. The Adblue has also not been an issue - you get plenty of warning (at least a couple of thousand km) before you run out, and I just went to Repco and got a 20L container of it with a screw-on filler tube, and poured it in. If you are going somewhere really remote you could just top it up before going, but it doesn't seem hard to get the stuff. There's only two things I'd change. 1: I agree that it could use more range, and I'm seriously looking at a long range fuel tank. 2: it could use better lights - a proper set of foglights at the front, and spotlights with more reach, like the HIDs on my previous vehicle.
Hey, I’m 6ft with a Uk 8 (yes small feet!). I would say there isn’t a major issue with the support, but after 9 hours of driving in approach shoes (chunky trainers) I was definitely feeling it. There are some people in the Uk that have found a way of reducing it down, which I will probably do when mines out of warranty. As you say though, it makes things so easy, it’s worth putting up with.
6 foot, size 10. no issues. done 35,000 km. quite a number of 10 hour days behind the wheel in the Territory and qld and back. You have to be alert driving at NT speeds - 130km/h plus - it wanders and tramlines a bit. 68 litre sub tank installed fixed the range issues (also have to 30 litre tank on the side - but not really needed now). High tyre pressure and temp alarms are a pain. Diesel usage at high speeds is pretty horrendous approx 17.5 unloaded, 20 with gear on the roof rack - Very impressed with this vehicle - a worthy replacement for my disco 4 and much more comfortable than my defender 130.
With the adblue it’s not actually a breather issue, you need a specific magnetic collar that slides over the adblue nozzle to release it. You can the fill it up flat out and it’ll only take a few seconds. It’s a safety thing so you don’t inadvertently put adblue in the fuel tank.
To everybody saying the foot rest is not an issue, well it is an issue if you like to drive with your left leg straight and you wear size 11 work boots.
Foot rest for me @ 185cm and size 12 boots is a non issue, even on the Holland Track when the bottoms of my boots were caked in mud.(must have been either just before or after you Ronny) I rest both feet on the LH foot rest with bare feet. I must say it is by far the most comfortable vehicle ive driven long distance.
I learnt how to turn off the sensors at pre delivery! The Grenadier is now officially called Wally after hitting the Wallaby. The name is on the driver's side of the bonnet. Sadly I followed Ronny with a roadkill - a wallaby.
7000km, 179cm. Hump doesn't make me uncomfortable anymore than any other vehicle doing the same 4hr commute. I don't wear shoes with heels though. More people nedd to start questioning their footwear.
Don’t have one but really like it! Only concern is the reliability of the BMW engine full of plastic parts. Used to have BMW’s and every plastic engine component failed. My options are…Toyota Land Cruiser, new 4 runner or this.
No issues with footrest, I’m 189cms with 11.5 shoes. Done 8000kms in mine. The seating position is more upright than some other vehicles. I think it depends on what vehicle you’re used to driving.
I trust by now you've found the AdBlu adpater that you need to use to fill up with? Either borrow the servo's one or carry your own. Repco sell them. Then it only takes a minute to fill up. And pump Adblu is WAY cheaper than supercheap bottles
Your series on the Grenadier is the absolute best. Most reviewers and content creators are either trying to sell stuff or don’t have a clue about what this car really is and what it’s capable of. I know I’ve watched them all and often comment telling people to watch Ronny Dahl if they want to really know the Grenadier.
I have personally tested my vehicles at bornholm, stock 1999 prado went up very easy, with lift and 285 tyres it really struggles, i think this vehicle impressed ronny because it has correct tyres on it. He usually has 35's on his LCs and they just too big in sand Completely stock 2016 dmax got up with standard small tyres Oversize tyres are horrible on sand unless you have a lot of power to push them
I don’t think it was Mr. Dahl’s point that the Grenadier is the only car that’s capable of driving off the beach, but rather that it can and do it competently. This series is designed to poke at the Grenadier until it turns ‘round and bites him! So far so good.
@SaltShack i just think any stock 4wd will get off of that beach just fine, people modify 4wds in a way that is often limiting them for sandy hills especially
@@corey797 Can’t disagree with that. But, it’s reasonable to test the Grenadier there, if for no other reason, its weight that results from its robustness, payload and towing capacity. Mr. Dahl has lifted his Grenadier and put 34” tires on it by the way but those are reasonable modifications to improve performance elsewhere, if not on the beach. But what do I know I’ve never driven on a beach in my life.
At the moment there is no competition for grenadier. Durable inside out, heavy duty and economy, ergonomic with comfort. A lot of tests show it is a real beast.
The left foot thing doesn’t bother me - had my IG for 9 months. 6’4” (194cm) and UK12 feet. Tall but not a giant - one thing though, I do have the seat quite high which probably helps. If you have the seat really low it’s going to exacerbate the angle of the footrest. If anyone finds it awkward, lift the seat!
Seeing as you asked- I’m 190cm, with size 15 feet. I don’t notice the Grenadier’s left foot lump at all. Honestly, I didn’t notice it 15 minutes into my first test drive. Yes, I have driven it with boots.
The sensors can be turned off permanently in the menu system if needed The footrest is not an issue, 95% of the time, I dont notice it, but it does have its moments on long drives when you get restless generally. 175cm Size 9 boots . I do like to sit my heal on it with my foot more verticle against the fire wall /dash plus a few other positions to mix it up on long drives.
Good review as always. I thought I saw flashes of the Grenadier on your Holland Track video and was wondering what it would be put into... Yes, Ive had the door handle stick a bit, but like you, a quick wiggle and it frees up. As for Adblue, the cost per litre might be cheaper at the bowser (when you can find one), but the 10 or 20 litre bottles are easier. After sitting in the first prototype I was worried about the foot rest, but you very quickly forget it when you're driving. I'm 183cm with size 43 shoes and wear boots occasionally.
sticky handle button is a known issue, you do not even need get dirt into it to get it stuck. My solution is good old wd40, whenever I found it becomes sticky, I spray a little bit into its crack.
Thank you for the review Ronnie, looks like a well capable utilitarian vehicle, still think that when they were developing it that they could have had a raised roof behind the cab for bench sitting 😁, other than that it seems pretty versatile apart from all of the EMP suseptable electronics, oh non electronic vehicles come back, 😎, nice video, 😁
6ft & only a size 8 shoe size..?!? 🤔🥴😉😁
Very happy with the car and about to head to the Gibson desert 😀😀
i mean, but what happens when you want the sensors off and not be off road ?
There is a button on the dash to just turn them off, Ronnie shows it in the video !!

Good to see the Grenadier back and put through its paces. Thankyou
One of the only guys whose opinion matters when it comes to four wheel driving! The Ineos has my attention. ;)
met a blok in the carpark the other day
- 1st Greandier I have seen up close
- he commented that the vehicle has a 150 litre main tank installed
- the vehicle also had a really really nice ( and very usefull) "under roof rack" unside the rear load area
-
It's only a 90 litre factory fitted tank; maybe he had an aftermarket auxiliary fitted as well?
Fantastic real world testing. Surprised how capable this vehicle is.
Yep. Agreed! Drove mine for 6hrs and it was way better on my back and abs than my expedition.
I love it.
Love my Grenadier… I’m 6’1” with size 11 feet and the left foot hump is no problem even with boots on… keep up the good work 👍
Good review and keep the Grenny content coming. Left foot issue only became a problem when doing 8 to 10 hour long drives. Left knee started to lock up. Height 174cm shoe size 8 and no boots only running shoes.
Grenny McBoaty! Thanks Ronny, awesome to have all this real world commentary!
That’s why I bought the gasoline version. No adblue problem for me😊
@@Fr99763adblue ain’t a problem, seems to be for some though, not hard to buy a 1litre bottle from supercheap and keep it in your car.
I am 5'10", size 10 boot size, travelled nearly 18,000 Klm since 12/2023 combined on road/off road, right hand drive Trialmaster. Longest trip, 6 hours stopped once for fuel, left foot issue, NOT AN ISSUE at all.
Had mine since January and it’s a beast.
What a great review and video. I am kicking myself a little. Purchased 2023 TRD Pro 4Runner vs the Grenadier. I was so close to buying one.
Great review! I've been really curious about this vehicle, and so far it looks amazing given that this is the first car this company made.
The grenadier quartermaster (Ute) looks awesome and gives me cruiser vibes and that excites me a lot
Saw it in Goodwood this year, pure beauty
@@TheWorseyYes it looks great when you see it in the flesh. Great all round vehicle.
No issues with the left foot on the rest. I am 5 foot 11 inches, size 10.5 to 11 boots. I drive always with beefy boots.
Is it unreliable? With that bmw everything in it.
I have just started driveing my 130 defender after a 6 year rebuild stearing feels just like you described the grenadier after 6 years of amaroks as my daily
Never noticed it befor i gat the amarok
I’m 190cm with size 11 shoes. Bit over 30k on my Grenadier including a Canning stick route trip. The Foot rest won’t be an issue for most and hasn’t bothered me at all. Have the Brown Davis long range tank which solves the main issue with this vehicle for long range touring!
Awesome job Ronny! Love watching your in-depth reviews. Thanks for the hard work.
Great review Ronny watching all grandia content closely not that I can afford one but would tick so many boxes for a solid off road touring rig !
Is that off road switch always on or off or do you have to turn it on each time you start the vehicle like he says?
You turn it on for serious off roading only
@@ryanwilling6302must be reset every time you shut off the car.
Great update Ronny, love the ladder mod for the extra fuel!
Well Ronny, a very good video, well presented facts, no fluff.
looks awesome in this setup. this should of been the defender 30 years ago
Instead they went soft
Adblu it’s not a blocked breather hose you need the magnetic filler adapter for a truck pump. Some servos have em on the pump.
6’ size 11. No issues. Bornholme beach is a piece a cake for the grenny- I always lock up anyway on the way back out.
Hi ronny, really love your videos, I'm happy to say that i have been selected to go test drive the ineos in Namibia
Love the Grenadier, such a nice complete offroader
Finally the video I've been waiting for. Unfortunately here in the US, we don't have Diesel variant. Over-all it's still a great honest video.
You mean fortunately? The gasoline version is so much better
Range, range, range. The extra range with diesel goes a long way at curing the only deficiency the Grenadier has, range. Did I mention Range?
@@SaltShack range indeed, very well pointed out. So the Grenadier has a 90 liter fueltank, and I average about 13,5 liters per 100km, giving me a theoretical range of 660 km. You probably use only 11 liters per 100 km giving you 810 km. Both are high numbers allowing you ample time to find a gas station. And you have an extra 150 km to think about range.
I (in Europe) was never out of range of a fuel station, so I am curious what kind of distances you have to overcome in your country before you see the next gaspump and accept the hassle of this adblue thing?
@@Fr99763I know of Australian locations with places your easily 1000km or more between fuel stations on and off road
I love the car but want to go more modern 😅
The other candidate is the new Toyota Land Cruiser 76 2,8 V4.
Thanks Ronnie, we need more on this vehicle! Keep it coming.
Interesting insight in this 4wd. Having just got a 300. I’m doubting (only slightly) my decision. Steve 🇦🇺
Love my grenadier. I agree with all of the comments in this review. I’m 180cm size 10, was noticeable for the first 100km but is a non issue now.
Turning on the "Off road" mode will also disable the sensors (plus some other things like ESC). As well as the sensor button pointed out in the video.
Required every time you go off road. Silence is amazing.
With the adblue it’s not actually a breather issue, you need a specific magnetic collar that slides over the adblue nozzle to release it. You can the fill it up flat out and it’ll only take a few seconds. It’s a safety thing so you don’t inadvertently put adblue in the fuel tank.
MORE, MORE, MORE, MORE, MORE, Grenadier content pleeze!
I'm 204cm tall, wearing a UK 13. However no issues with the left hand drive Grenadier. ^^
The lump is the killer for me. Ended up with a Ranger Raptor instead. If they can fix it, I'll be in a Petrol one in a heart beat
Awesome video!! Keep them coming brother!!
A very positive review, thanks.
He usually has 35's on his LCs and they just too big in sand
Completely stock 2016 dmax got up with standard small tyres
Oversize tyres are horrible on sand unless you have a lot of power to push them
I don’t think it was Mr.
Economy is a big plus and offsets issues with the smaller tank, not to mention the saving$.
Love it thanks - really interesting new vehicle on the scene.
Hey mate, i'm about 197cm and 12.5, does lifting the seat cut off your view at all? do you find your head hitting the ceiling ?
@@James-fj9dm I have it set so the top of my head is 4 fingers from the roof head lining, doesn’t block view at all. 👍
Very interesting Ronny thanks mate.
Is this the #1 4 Wheel drive channel from Australia on TH-cam?
Seeing as you asked- I’m 190cm, with size 15 feet. I don’t notice the Grenadier’s left foot lump at all. Honestly, I didn’t notice it 15 minutes into my first test drive. Yes, I have driven it with boots.
Awesome video, Ronny! Always well informed my friend.
The sensors can be turned off permanently in the menu system if needed
The footrest is not an issue, 95% of the time, I dont notice it, but it does have its moments on long drives when you get restless generally. 175cm Size 9 boots . I do like to sit my heal on it with my foot more verticle against the fire wall /dash plus a few other positions to mix it up on long drives.
Excited to hear your thoughts on this truck🏴🏴
I LOVE this vehicle! Hope to buy one someday
NICE work exposing THAT BEACH !!!! BOZO
Welcome to solid axel front and rear life Ronny best thing I ever did was go from 76 series to a 105 don’t need lockers in most situations
But doesn't the 76 have a solid F and R axle? same as a 105
Mike 76 has leafs in the rear
@matthewbrasier3034 yes, but re read your comment, it says nothing about leaf springs 👍🏼
I would Love to join you on this Holland track, one day. I'm about 24.000 km away, unfortunately. 😎. Greetings from Holland.
sticky handle button is a known issue, you do not even need get dirt into it to get it stuck. My solution is good old wd40, whenever I found it becomes sticky, I spray a little bit into its crack.
An episode doing a towing test would be nice to see Ronny.
Honestly that car is just insane offroad. I haven't drive anything that capable with such minor mods before.
Yes, more Grenny content!
It’s certainly impressive.
