I got a lot of respect for the Killer B guys, not just because they're fellow virginians lol. They have helped A LOT of folk over on NASIOC and igottasti. Super knowledgable folk. Their claim is that they've tested the iag style cooling fins and couldn't find any consistent gains with a stock under tray or skid plate. The O ring gaskets are the only real claim to fame from what I've heard.
@@zmmmzmmmz GNG is the only place you should be going in central. Up north, Mach V or IAG are great spots. Unfortunately Killer B doesn't work on our stuff, go figure :(
I'd love to see their testing data. It's hard to take seriously a company saying their competition's product is worse than their own. Obviously they have all the motivation in the world to say that and try to drive more consumers to their own product. No hate on Killer B, I run their pick up and like it. It's just a fact that they are not an unbiased source and I'd like to see the data on that claim.
I like the RCM oil pan because it’s a modified stock one so you have no fitment issues and can fit a skid plate underneath. Plus, RCM reaalllly likes black and it is some pretty packaging when you get an RCM part in black.
Nice vid. Can you guys do a video on blow by, primarily on what causes it and how to prevent it. I know you previously did a series in the pcv system that was very good. Thanks
Thanks for watching and thanks for the question. We actually have a few videos on this topic. Blow By is caused when your PCV system is over run, and here is the video talking about that: th-cam.com/video/pXQdgxHWFwk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=PWQzF0GScTJ9YlqJ And there is this video specifically looking at what is in Blow By: th-cam.com/video/vcohpGMFwI8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=_cFzFCxzMRA6v2mT Let me know if you have more questions after going through those and I'll do my best to help. With the IAG pan, do you still need to use RTV on the pan along with the O-Ring gasket? Or maybe just a few dabs of RTV where the block seams are, instead of all the way around the pan?

Nice comparison. I was in the market a few months ago for an upgraded pan and went with killer b super g. Personally, I did not like the iag pickup, which tries to do weight savings by engraving the iag logo on one of the pickup legs. Like why the hell would they do something like that on such a critical part, it baffles me (no pun intended)
Thanks for watching and thanks for the question. The IAG and Killer-B pans will clear both Equal and Unequal Length headers, but they do not clear Twin Scroll headers. Hope that helps and Stay Tuned!

I have a highly modified EJ257 with a competition IAG pan. I also have a ported IAG oil pump. At the track we have recorded less than 500kPa at 7200+ rpm. Is running additional oil at the track safe? I have a stock oil dip stick. Currently I am running on the factory markings of the dipstick.
I don’t believe the oil exceeded 85°C, but I have to check logs. I’m starting to wonder if oil is getting caught in my AOS. But you’re right my first thought was to increase the weight of the oil for the next track day.
Mostly stock daily STi here...my problem is I start looking at just a pickup, that's work I can't do myself, so if I'm paying that, there's a slippery slope and all of a sudden I'm looking at a $2000 setup
Thanks for watching and thanks for the comment. For a stock car, you really don't need to go in and replace the pick-up, or the oil pan for that matter. The stock components are fine for street use. This really starts to come up when you are tracking the car more because there are more benefits from the baffling, etc. Hope that helps and Stay Tuned!
I just picked a torque solution oil pan and pick up. It looks like a copy of the v1 killer b oil pan and pick up. Kinda concerned about the lack of baffling in pan. Only has one baffle plate and leaves huge gaps all around. Kinda wishing I got the iag.
Thanks for watching and thanks for the comment. For the street, baffling is not nearly as important. If you start tracking your car, and especially if you are tracking your car with sticky tires, switching to a pan with good baffling will be a big help to keep your oil pressure consistent. If you haven't installed the pan yet, you could add something like the RCM Baffle plate: www.flatironstuning.com/rcm2428 Which will help to keep the oil in your pan too. Hope that helps and Stay Tuned!
