Any tips for the upbeat snare rolls after the opening bass line? I get through the rest of the song okay but no matter how much moeller and push pull I apply (not gripping the stocks very hard), I still lock up.
The biggest problem you’ll be facing is probably your left hand. What you can’t see in this vid is that my left hand was totally tensed up and the only way I made it through it was stiffing it out, which is really bad! Technique is something I’m really working at these days. You’ve got to remember to stay relaxed when you play at these speeds. A great exercise is singles to doubles, but start slowish so you get used to the motions and stay relaxed. Make sure you’re playing from your wrist with a lose grip. Just TH-cam search single to doubles exercises and general technique exercises. Good luck!
HELLO MY FRIEND! Love your stuff, keep up the good work. I'm also a drummer, and I mainly play to old school hardcore punk, kinda like yourself. I've only been into it for like a year, so I'm still probably considered a beginner, MAYBE low intermediate, but I play everyday and am always trying to improve. Recently, I've been listening to this song called "Too Good For You" by The Freeze, which you may know from This is Boston, Not L.A. Awesome band, at least in my opinion. It'd be pretty rad to see a cover of that song, or even a cover of something from This is Boston, Not L.A. would be cool. Hell, I wouldn't mind seeing a medley for the Boston Not L.A. comp itself. Not demanding you do any of this stuff, just some suggestions for some future video stuff. Take care man :).
Wow man, didn't know the drum track was so intense. They call it punk but it takes skill to play it!
