I just watched an hour long interview with Dave from 7 years ago and so much of what he said still applies to him today and could and will be applied to this show in an amazing way. He loves to dig into the eu and make things canon. He did it with thrawn and now he may do it with the vong
Dude, the Vong had a whole planet they used as a scout ship! There was one of the New Jedi Order where Ben Skywalker (Mara Jade and Luke's son), being very nature aware, helped find a planet that warped in from someplace and previously visited by Thrawn or Empire scouts and dismissed, but it was a precurser "ship" for the Vong to travel from another galaxy. At the end of the book series, the Vong were defeated (well, more like fought to a "tie" but the Vong warlike leadership killed) and convinced to live on this planet instead of going around and killing off citizens of a "Galaxy Far Far Away".

I believe Dave Filoni has great knowledge of Star Wars having been taught under George Lucas, that he can steer Star Wars in this new direction never explored before. I just hope Disney and the executives don’t get in Dave’s way and just allow him to do his thing.
How could the Purrgil be part of the Yuuzhan Vong if we know that they were cut off from the force? Ezra uses the Forge to connect with the Purrgil, so that doesn't make any sense unless they're just completely retconning that huge part of the Yuuzan Vong story.
It could be great. The Vong could arrive sometime after the sequel trilogy. Characters like Grogu would be the equivalent of a teenager. Jacen Sendula would be in his early to mid 30s. Sabine would be in her 50s. Even with Rey included, it could be a chance to kind of do a reboot and go somewhere new. What’s needed is to get away from the Empire and Republic.
Dave seems like a very creative person. I don’t know why and understand why he’s getting hate and I see people wanting him to be fired. Like he worked directly under George himself and has done great work in the animation department, why would you want to get rid of him? I hope the rest of the Ahsoka series brings good results.

Disney/LucasFilm have treated Luke and gang with utter contempt, writing them out of all of the new content (save for a few appearances of Luke in Mando/BoB). It's inconceivable to me that the guys that just saved the galaxy from the Empire wouldn't be more present in major post-Empire events. And they just haven't been present. Ayo. New Republic and Empire and remaining Jedi and Sith team up and MCU Civil War fight it out with the Yuuzhan Vong? Jokes aside. It may or may not end up explaining why things ended up the way they did in the sequels. What we can take from the sequels, if you pull it out of the bullshit, is that Snoke and Luke both traveled to the unknown regions of the galaxy and threw away both the ideas and beliefs of the Jedi and Sith. What if the Yuuzhan Vong are already in the galaxy and that's what both Snoke and Luke found? What if JJ Abrams and Rian Johnson were so tied up in trying to make it their own thing, that we skipped over what the actual story was supposed to be? Now with Dave in charge, he's trying to fix what the sequels fucked up. Sort of like what he did with Clone Wars and rebels to explain a lot of what happen between the events of AotC and RotS both dealing with the main story line, but also what is happening behind the scenes and what is happening on the galactic scale.
If The Yuzhann Vong come to the Ashoka series they should do an entire episode from The Vong’s perspective. Explaining what they are about etc. If GOT did that with The White Walkers the show would have been much better. Great video!
The problem is that Ahsoka has been f*cken boring thus far. So not sure how "exciting" and "crazy" it is all going to get when they can't even make the first three episodes interesting. I don't know, seems like they should have Timothy Zahn working with them since he created Thrawn. The idea that Imperials and the New Republic team up to fight a bigger threat is cool, but have little faith in Disney's ability to handle this. For them to feel like a threat, this extra-galactic threat should obviously be darker than Disney would allow. So already I'm worried.

The Rakata were my first guess. I’m thinking they changed their origin a bit and that they will maybe even be amalgamated into the Vong to bring both of them into canon in such a way that a lot of what made both of those species so popular. The moment I saw how the purgill looked and the Star Map it’s the first thing I thought.
@@reyman011 I don't think they are scouts. They are likely the template or basis for organic hyperdrive tech. An intergalactic migratory mega-fauna that has evolved the ability for hyperspace travel. For a species that utilizes organic biological tech, they'd need something to exist like that. They are, the proof of concept in this case. They are also, likely, the basis for the intergalactic hyperlanes. The Purgills being the basis for the tech, and a naturally occurring phenomenon that has plotted the hyperlanes between the galaxies that other technological species can piggy back off of. That's the whole point of the map. They are just looking at basically an ancient map that shows the Purgill migratory route. That's my take on it.
The thing about the vong, is that what made the entire war interesting was the new jedi order, but here it doesn't look like we'll have an Anakin solo, Jacen Solo, Jaina Solo, Kyp Durron, Corran Horn, Mara Jade..etc to actually watch and see how they go about the war but instead we have lessinteresting new canon characters.
Yep hopefully that will change. We have jacen Syndulla now which is based off Jason solo so maybe Dave’s trying to do what he can do to get as close as he can to that without getting fired lol.
The biggest obstacle torwards a revitalization of Star Wars with reintroduction of all these Legends elements is the Sequel Trilogy with all it's baggage is sitting right smack in the timelime where much cooler shit is supposed to be happening. Disney will never completely reboot using time travel because all those final scenes with Leia, Han, and Luke are wrapped up in there, misused as they might have been.
This could literally revive Star Wars. For everyone. But I'm optimistically waiting. It's still the Lucasfilm we all know it to be. Would love this, but idk. We're all just so unsure what to expect. And not in a good way. And just one question I have. Did Palpatine know about this other galaxy? Did thrawn tell him? Did thrawn want to tell him?? Had he told him mabey Palpatine would have canceled order 66. For more resources to fight a war for another galaxy. This can open up alot of questions. Possibly mess with plot lines, ect. But I'm all for expanding this world of Star wars even more. That's how we get new and interesting stories.
This is the first legit Vong theory I've heard with actual evidence to back it up. However, I have 2 questions for you. 1. How, if at all, does this tie in to the World Between Worlds? 2. How, if at all does this tie in to the sequels? Good theory, but just some concepts you might want to consider.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the night sisters were once a part of the rakata empire and in general, the rakata empire Darkside force abilities, probably looked a lot like magic again the JE’DAII Use the force back then it was basically what the night sisters do now anyway I mean you had people that could literally cut just like A light saber with A wooden staff so in General before us was very much a whole different concept back then but either way, I think all of it is going to tie back to that time of the JE’DAII VS THE RAKATA
The theory is interesting but let me make it better. Pergil are not Vong ships, the Vong make their ships out of Pergil. 10 times better. The pergil are clearly animals not ships they have way too much animal behavior to be ships. How ever the Vong like to make things out of flesh so what better thing to turn into a starship than a space whale, and makes the Vong instantly menacing. It even makes sense why the pergil started migrating between galaxies, they were being hunter and turned into ships and needed to keep moving to survive
I’d recommend going to the New Rockstars page and watching them break down the Star map translation from the credits. They bring up some interesting theories at the end.
They might not be ships for the Vong but it could be what they used as a template for their ships. And I would be surprised if the Vong don’t show up, maybe the path to Peridea is discovered by the Vong because of the events of rebels and the ahsoka show
I think the original "hyperspace rings" were actually giant harnesses for the Purgill, giving a hyperspace travel option. With machine hyperdrives, there is no need for a ring, but the design held over in the SW galaxy, or the harnesses had engines mounted for use without being strapped to a Purgill.
I think you're on the right track. My supporting theory is that Ahsoka and the Rebels crew stay in this new galaxy and follow the threat back to the main one after the sequles, maybe for the new Rey movies.
So here's the thing. If this is all true and it does happen, that's amazing. But like 99% of these things, they are rumors. And in alot of cases just fan fiction and taken as fact and when it doesn't happen, you're upset. Unrealistic expectations and ignorance. Now with that said, surely some people inside Lucasfilm have ideas like this and would love to do it. In one way or another.
He was supposed to find out what happened to Outbound Flight. Which disappeared because of the Vong, and was in a vision that Palpatine had. Unfortunately, Thrawn being taken down by the New Republic, allowed the Vong to invade. So we will see what happens.
@The Den of Nerds - shout out to @NewRockstars for this bit - First, they do call out that Sam Witwer was also credited in all Mandalorian S3 episodes yet we never saw him or any reference to Starkiller or Galen Marek. Now while this does not disprove the potential Marrok could be a canon Starkiller version theory it does not necessarily add to the evidence either. However, I am with you and others that it seems to be heading that direction if you follow the bread crumbs. Sticking with @NewRockstars, I remembered their recap and "easter eggs" video from Andor S1E4. In their recap they call out the same Rakatan reference that as you mentioned would not have come from Tony Gilroy and likely not Jon Favreau either making Filoni the most likely source. Ironically, in that same Andor episode (S1E4) the New Rockstars point out all the easter eggs in Luthen's shop, one of which appears to be a version of.....you guessed it - Starkiller's helmet/armor!! I for one do not think it is a coincidence that Mon Mothma, the Rakatan reference, and a potential Starkiller easter egg all ended up in the same Andor epsiode. If Filoni did have a hand in this there does seem to be a larger plan, hell even the it being episode 4 could be a foreshadowing.....could we find out Marrok is Galen Marek or in canon Galen Marrok in the next episode? Could Filoni have changed the spelling to canonize Starkiller and introduce him in a way he is not super OP for now while also satisfying his own wolf obsession as in lore/mythology Sir Marrok ended up as a werewolf who also fought wolves? Does this somehow align as Skoll & Hati are also wolves? We have the image from Rebels with the black and white wolves on the mural as well. Could Marrok/Starkiller be the one to help Morgan escape Ahsoka this time as no one else is quite strong enough? Could we see the light side Anakin Padawan square off against the Vader dark side Padawan? What would Anakin's force ghost say to Ahsoka about this?! My mind is practically blown just thinking about that not to mention where all this may be going to your point! So many signs and I for one am excited to see where this all goes!! If it were to play out this way or something similar then I would have to recognize the genius of Filoni and his ability to save Star Wars from Disney's wreckage. The yuuzhan vong are not effected by the force… I mean it don’t don’t work on them , if I’m remembering it right so I don’t think Ezra could use the force to call them or there ships which were alive but still out side the reach of the force… or am I remembering it wrong….?
What if all the Empire's superweapons were ultimately for the Yuuzhan Vong? One thing I loved from the EU is that the Yuuzhan Vong saw invading when Palpatine was in charge as a major threat. Perhaps this whole arc sets them up, and that New Jedi Order they're working on is when the Vong realize Palps is truly gone. It would make everything Palpatine and Thrawn did more interesting, and would give Rey an actual villian instead of whatever happened in those sequel movies.
I also feel like that if all this stuff happens, it won’t be in the nose, Star Wars universe it cant because there’s literally no reference of it throughout the sequel trilogy some thing of that magnitude would most definitely affect those movies and be something that would’ve been mentioned so I am setting all this up to happen in another galaxy makes a whole lot of sense with essentially people from the known Star Wars galaxy, ending up in a new one and dealing with everything there

Regarding the Noghri, they were illustrated in Heir to the Empire. Tharen’s bodyguard Rukh was a Noghri.

What we can take from the sequels, if you pull it out of the bullshit, is that Snoke and Luke both traveled to the unknown regions of the galaxy and threw away both the ideas and beliefs of the Jedi and Sith. What if the Yuuzhan Vong are already in the galaxy and that's what both Snoke and Luke found? What if JJ Abrams and Rian Johnson were so tied up in trying to make it their own thing, that we skipped over what the actual story was supposed to be?
Now with Dave in charge, he's trying to fix what the sequels fucked up. Sort of like what he did with Clone Wars and rebels to explain a lot of what happen between the events of AotC and RotS both dealing with the main story line, but also what is happening behind the scenes and what is happening on the galactic scale.
If The Yuzhann Vong come to the Ashoka series they should do an entire episode from The Vong’s perspective. Explaining what they are about etc. If GOT did that with The White Walkers the show would have been much better. Great video!
The problem is that Ahsoka has been f*cken boring thus far. So not sure how "exciting" and "crazy" it is all going to get when they can't even make the first three episodes interesting. I don't know, seems like they should have Timothy Zahn working with them since he created Thrawn. The idea that Imperials and the New Republic team up to fight a bigger threat is cool, but have little faith in Disney's ability to handle this. For them to feel like a threat, this extra-galactic threat should obviously be darker than Disney would allow. So already I'm worried.

The Rakata were my first guess. I’m thinking they changed their origin a bit and that they will maybe even be amalgamated into the Vong to bring both of them into canon in such a way that a lot of what made both of those species so popular. The moment I saw how the purgill looked and the Star Map it’s the first thing I thought.

@@reyman011 I don't think they are scouts. They are likely the template or basis for organic hyperdrive tech. An intergalactic migratory mega-fauna that has evolved the ability for hyperspace travel. For a species that utilizes organic biological tech, they'd need something to exist like that. They are, the proof of concept in this case. They are also, likely, the basis for the intergalactic hyperlanes. The Purgills being the basis for the tech, and a naturally occurring phenomenon that has plotted the hyperlanes between the galaxies that other technological species can piggy back off of. That's the whole point of the map. They are just looking at basically an ancient map that shows the Purgill migratory route. That's my take on it.
The thing about the vong, is that what made the entire war interesting was the new jedi order, but here it doesn't look like we'll have an Anakin solo, Jacen Solo, Jaina Solo, Kyp Durron, Corran Horn, Mara Jade..etc to actually watch and see how they go about the war but instead we have lessinteresting new canon characters.
Yep hopefully that will change. We have jacen Syndulla now which is based off Jason solo so maybe Dave’s trying to do what he can do to get as close as he can to that without getting fired lol.

The biggest obstacle torwards a revitalization of Star Wars with reintroduction of all these Legends elements is the Sequel Trilogy with all it's baggage is sitting right smack in the timelime where much cooler shit is supposed to be happening. Disney will never completely reboot using time travel because all those final scenes with Leia, Han, and Luke are wrapped up in there, misused as they might have been.

This could literally revive Star Wars. For everyone. But I'm optimistically waiting. It's still the Lucasfilm we all know it to be. Would love this, but idk. We're all just so unsure what to expect. And not in a good way.
And just one question I have. Did Palpatine know about this other galaxy? Did thrawn tell him? Did thrawn want to tell him?? Had he told him mabey Palpatine would have canceled order 66. For more resources to fight a war for another galaxy. This can open up alot of questions. Possibly mess with plot lines, ect. But I'm all for expanding this world of Star wars even more. That's how we get new and interesting stories.

This is the first legit Vong theory I've heard with actual evidence to back it up. However, I have 2 questions for you. 1. How, if at all, does this tie in to the World Between Worlds? 2. How, if at all does this tie in to the sequels? Good theory, but just some concepts you might want to consider.

The theory is interesting but let me make it better. Pergil are not Vong ships, the Vong make their ships out of Pergil. 10 times better. The pergil are clearly animals not ships they have way too much animal behavior to be ships. How ever the Vong like to make things out of flesh so what better thing to turn into a starship than a space whale, and makes the Vong instantly menacing. It even makes sense why the pergil started migrating between galaxies, they were being hunter and turned into ships and needed to keep moving to survive

I’d recommend going to the New Rockstars page and watching them break down the Star map translation from the credits. They bring up some interesting theories at the end.
They might not be ships for the Vong but it could be what they used as a template for their ships. And I would be surprised if the Vong don’t show up, maybe the path to Peridea is discovered by the Vong because of the events of rebels and the ahsoka show
I think the original "hyperspace rings" were actually giant harnesses for the Purgill, giving a hyperspace travel option. With machine hyperdrives, there is no need for a ring, but the design held over in the SW galaxy, or the harnesses had engines mounted for use without being strapped to a Purgill.
I think you're on the right track. My supporting theory is that Ahsoka and the Rebels crew stay in this new galaxy and follow the threat back to the main one after the sequles, maybe for the new Rey movies.

If this is all true and it does happen, that's amazing. But like 99% of these things, they are rumors. And in alot of cases just fan fiction and taken as fact and when it doesn't happen, you're upset. Unrealistic expectations and ignorance. Now with that said, surely some people inside Lucasfilm have ideas like this and would love to do it. In one way or another.
He was supposed to find out what happened to Outbound Flight. Which disappeared because of the Vong, and was in a vision that Palpatine had. Unfortunately, Thrawn being taken down by the New Republic, allowed the Vong to invade. So we will see what happens.
I loved how the Vong wanted nothing to do with Palpatine and how the superweapons were ultimately created to defend the galaxy from a Vong invasion.
@The Den of Nerds - shout out to @NewRockstars for this bit - First, they do call out that Sam Witwer was also credited in all Mandalorian S3 episodes yet we never saw him or any reference to Starkiller or Galen Marek. Now while this does not disprove the potential Marrok could be a canon Starkiller version theory it does not necessarily add to the evidence either. However, I am with you and others that it seems to be heading that direction if you follow the bread crumbs. Sticking with @NewRockstars, I remembered their recap and "easter eggs" video from Andor S1E4. In their recap they call out the same Rakatan reference that as you mentioned would not have come from Tony Gilroy and likely not Jon Favreau either making Filoni the most likely source. Ironically, in that same Andor episode (S1E4) the New Rockstars point out all the easter eggs in Luthen's shop, one of which appears to be a version of.....you guessed it - Starkiller's helmet/armor!! I for one do not think it is a coincidence that Mon Mothma, the Rakatan reference, and a potential Starkiller easter egg all ended up in the same Andor epsiode. If Filoni did have a hand in this there does seem to be a larger plan, hell even the it being episode 4 could be a foreshadowing.....could we find out Marrok is Galen Marek or in canon Galen Marrok in the next episode? Could Filoni have changed the spelling to canonize Starkiller and introduce him in a way he is not super OP for now while also satisfying his own wolf obsession as in lore/mythology Sir Marrok ended up as a werewolf who also fought wolves? Does this somehow align as Skoll & Hati are also wolves? We have the image from Rebels with the black and white wolves on the mural as well. Could Marrok/Starkiller be the one to help Morgan escape Ahsoka this time as no one else is quite strong enough? Could we see the light side Anakin Padawan square off against the Vader dark side Padawan? What would Anakin's force ghost say to Ahsoka about this?! My mind is practically blown just thinking about that not to mention where all this may be going to your point! So many signs and I for one am excited to see where this all goes!! If it were to play out this way or something similar then I would have to recognize the genius of Filoni and his ability to save Star Wars from Disney's wreckage. One thing I loved from the EU is that the Yuuzhan Vong saw invading when Palpatine was in charge as a major threat.
Perhaps this whole arc sets them up, and that New Jedi Order they're working on is when the Vong realize Palps is truly gone.
It would make everything Palpatine and Thrawn did more interesting, and would give Rey an actual villian instead of whatever happened in those sequel movies.
It doesnt fit into the timeline. There's no mention of Vong in the Last Jedi series.
I also feel like that if all this stuff happens, it won’t be in the nose, Star Wars universe it cant because there’s literally no reference of it throughout the sequel trilogy some thing of that magnitude would most definitely affect those movies and be something that would’ve been mentioned so I am setting all this up to happen in another galaxy makes a whole lot of sense with essentially people from the known Star Wars galaxy, ending up in a new one and dealing with everything there

the day the Vong show up in Star Wars is the day Star Wars is truly dead. told my brothers this who don’t read the EU. i said if the day ever happens where the bad guys are called the Yuzhaan Vong- that’s it. it’s over. Worst garbage ass characters in sci fi history and i can’t believe anyone would want this or be excited about it. it blows my mind. i pray this is not where we’re headed but sadly it seems that way.
