Acetone will eat polycarbonate. Better off with white spirits.

You are correct. This is why it went cloudy. White spirit or WD40 would be better.

Mine is leaking also. I’m waiting for a dry day to replace it. No idea when it’ll stop raining!!!
      Cheers

Great video, just noticed some water in my boot today and realised it was the seal around the light. Difficult to remove the light until you watch your video many thanks.
I have a 14 reg GS and it doesn't have those 2 modules makes it much easier to get to the clips both sides.

Thank you for doing this video and for your other Freelander 2 videos, they have been most helpful.
I fitted the 30% thicker eBay seal today using some silicone grease as well. The sticky stuff remover I used on the old seal worked really well and didn’t seem to stain the plastic at all. I will await the next rain storm to see if it has fixed the problem!

Thank you for posting this video, I have the same problem and will now attempt the fit. Without seeing this video I wouldn't have known where to start. 🙂🙂🙂

Thanks for the video. Saved me a lot of head scratching. Just replaced my seal. I needed to add a little silicon bead too but at least my parcel shelf is not getting wet now!

A rubber o ring has come off the windscreen washer pipe it's inside the light. You can see it in the video it mat leak from there too making you think it's the seal

Yes, well spotted! The barbs on the nozzle also broke off meaning it kept pulling out and leaking. I ended up changing the entire lamp to clear and sealing the nozzle in place with silicone.

Jus discovered I had this problem thanks to storm Ciara.... a lot more relaxed now I've seen how easy the fix is! Good video 👍🏼

Thanks for the video. I have just finished replacing my seal that had started to leak. The residue from the old seal came off reasonably easily using Sticky Stuff Remover.

Thanks. Just been wondering how to do this exact job.

Same problem with my LR2 in New York. Do you have a link or description of where you get your seals? Thanks.
