Another tip to spread that pinch bolt from the strut is to slide in couple of 2ps in the slot. Slot the bolt the other side and tighten it. This will spread the hub.
Loving the content. Maybe worth investing in a little pop up gazebo. 😊
I bought one in August. Not used it yet. Ok for rain and hot sun but no good in high winds.
Amazing video how much roughly did it cost in parts was this to to?
Not finished yet, but I’ve probably spent a good grand or two on parts so far. Only a few hundred pounds worth will end up actually fitted to the car.
@ is that just for the modified induction?
Sorry, thought you were asking about my webasto heater project. The catch can and pipework were not expensive. Full parts list in the video description.
That's a neat job. Can't wait to see it working. 👍
Great to have the project back. In Germany with my FL2 for Christmas and my webasto is lovely . Looking forward to the next video Scott. Best of luck.
😂 thought you had given up, merry Crimbo an all the best for new year 👍
Not given up. Just been very busy lately.
I cant believe you do all this on your drive!
Even worse than that, I do it all in the communal car park. I’m lucky to even get my parking space and an empty space next to me. One day I’ll have my own drive way.
I bloody enjoyed watching it mate!😊 but I don’t think my anxiety wouldn’t take it if I go through very deep water on flooded road in my normal car! In case the water gets into the cold intake and into the engine causing all sorts of trouble!
What is visible inside just behind the bulkhead?
There are a few things behind the panel. The ECU, the brake servo, heater hoses, plus a few other things.
Skip to 0:39 if you want to see Beavis coming past!😊
That was my stunt double
Great video very informative, I'm actually a bit scared now trying to do it myself, knowing my luck I'll probably end up snapping them in the engine, but I'll give it a go, PS you could get away with doing a voice over for Jeremy Clarkson You have a voice that's easy to listen to 👍
Thanks for the feedback. You’ll be fine so long as you soak the old plugs in WD40 overnight. Hammond!!!
that video is hard work. watch powerful uk.
My videos are the long version…the real life job complete with thought process and swearing. PowerfulUK offer much shorter videos showing ideal world highlights and missing out most of the issues. Take your pick.
really hoping for a miracle next weekend when i'll be able to try to fix my mist and draining problem. THanks a lot, Beavis
You can change it easily then that
Yes, it is just a bit fiddly to refit
Just buy the gap

@BeavisPits still not working that one. Odd. Comes up with that, we looked everywhere picture on ebay lol. Even tried that item number.

@BeavisPits brill, thank you. That works. I'll get all the new clips ordered now. Keep up the great videos, much appreciated. Happy Christmas.
Ok so how as it lasted and what does it look like now after a year, please let us know.
I’ll have a look underneath tomorrow and do a quick video
@@BeavisPits that would be good, but also understandable if you do not get time, because of Christmas, have a good one by the way.
I recently got a pair of these … just looking at videos they don’t seem to be much brighter than standard halogens just that they give whiter light but when I install them I will see… I installed them today Dec 20..2024 they give off a whiter light compared to my standard halogens just that those were 100/90 and put a lot of light down road because of the lower wattage on the Philips guess they will be cooler … don’t see much improvement in terms of brightness just that these are whiter and look more modern …. vorrei ordinare il kit della mia landrover freelander 2 del 2007
No kit. Parts list is in the video description.
so the facelift lamp can be retrofited in with an easy swap? No coding or additional wiring needed? i'm shopping around for an L359 and not sure whether to pay the £1k+ premium that the facelift model commands in the used car market.
Yes, the H11 halogen projector type are a straight swap. Not the xenon HID type though, that needs a software change, check the bulb type fitted. Personally, I’d pay the extra and go for facelift, it will be newer and probably in better condition.
Just to add my thanks for all this work you have put in creating these videos. I'm an old hand but none the less having this kind of resource is absolutely invaluable. My 2011 Evoque is going back together nicely with the new plugs. I must say I've never seen so much design and engineering go into a fuel filter mount!. All the very best and thanks again.
Thanks for the great feedback
That approach to glow plugs works fine on the older basic on/off systems. All the more modern cars are different. Even my freelander 1’s glow plugs are controlled by the engine ecu not the ignition switch. The factory manual states on the freelander 1 that the ecu decides whether or not to use glow plugs and for how long to heat them, the ecu’s decision is based on the battery voltage and coolant temperature. In cold weather or anytime the engine ecu can keep the plugs on for a few minutes after startup in order for the engine to run smoothly and to reduce emissions. So for this system to work well you need 4 good plugs, a good battery and a good temp sensor. To maximise its starting potential in cold weather wait ten seconds after turning the ignition on, then crank it. Mine starts within 2/3 compressions even when it’s frozen.
Yep, the two stage start method definitely helps. I showed this in my original “Cold starting tip” video. If the plugs are all blown though, that method won’t help, hence resorting to easystart. In later videos, I change the glowplugs and talk about the different types and the later models which are PWM driven with afterglow. No issues starting this winter now that all four glowplugs are working.
I need the number of the bell
Belt is LR000996
Very nice explanation. Were you battling to start when hot and cold? I've got an issue with my FL2 where it doesn't want to start when hot, no faults have been logged
Mine was jerking under acceleration. Sounds like your fuel filter thermostatic valve is sticking open. I did a video on this. It could also be your crank sensor failing when hot, that can happen.
@ I'm thinking it's either the crank or cam sensor, I've done the fuel filter three times with one from Land Rover and not a generic. The crank sensor was replaced last year with an OEM part. Just seems odd a new part would fail so soon (though not unheard of). It's also got no power when she's hot
Good luck with fixing it. If it isn’t the crank or cam sensor, then look at the fuel temperature sensor and then fuel pressure sensor. Definitely sounds like fuel delivery is not adjusting correctly as the engine heats up. A decent code reader will help to pinpoint the cause.
Worked for me !! Thx from Brazil !! 🍺
si può avere tutto il kit in italia? e quanto costa?
Not available as a whole kit. Watch the video for details of where each part can be bought.
Hi. Tnx for the video. On my evoque 2013 2.2 diesel ptu started to make noise. Inside is all black and have some space on part where drive shaft come. What is the problem?
PTU has failed. It will need replacing.
But still working and have humming noise?
Bearing or sleeve worn
Hi, are these still in stock, I’ve got your grill mounts before and they were ace, would love to have some of these brackets for the roof bars.
No, sorry, I don’t make them any more
@@BeavisPitsdo you have the design link format as I have a 3d printer. No worries if not, I just desperately need something like this
@ sorry, I don’t give out my design files
Thank you for doing this. It was a pain in the a*** to figure out the clip Lego thing. Then I watched your video and it all made sense..😂
Glad to hear my video was useful. I’d also like to mention that I sell much stronger headlight release rods if you managed to snap the Lego axle factory item.
Thanks for the help, I bought this from Ebay and the seller didn't send me the brackets!
Great! I knew someone would find this video useful!
Wait so the legislation allows you to have led high beam?
Yes, sort of…there are no limitations on brightness for high/main beam, and the beam pattern check is less strict. There are only really three rules…colour, facing forward and must go off when you dip the lights. This is UK regs, other countries may differ.
Watch my LED bulb videos, I study the regs
The Phillips will probably last longer than the Halfords.
Na -3 ne moze da upali, sta bi da je bilo -4 ili -5 recimo ,😃😃😃😃, tebi čovječe auto nije u redu
Yes, the glow plugs had blown, as I explained in the video. All changed now and starts fine.
You gave me an idea by put the volt meter on!! I actually fitted the volt meter today and it actually looks good and it’s not too bright while driving at night! Where did you rewire the voltmeter to? I’m worried about having the flat battery the next day as it’s always on.
Just wired it into the interior light positive supply, off fuse 17, it goes off 20mins after locking the car. It won’t draw much current.
Appreciate your reply Beavis. It does look bloody good!
IT WORKS!!! 2012 Facelift Auto. Don’t know how you worked this out but you are a hero! 🦸♂️
great video do you have a video on servicing the haldex unit plus oil spec and quantity?
I did a video on the fluids, but have not serviced my haldex yet, on my list!
Im having these fitted on my Picanto. Dark roads the current ones are like candles.
Excellent video series, thanks Scott
At 1:28:06 I bet the pedestrians were like “don’t be such a child with that bloody horn!!”😅😅 I did the same thing by drive through the tunnel, and I’ve been insulted by one of my family member in the car saying “you’re such a child!!”🤣🤣
Thanks for the video. It worked really well. I put some masking tape on the paintwork to avoid scratching and used a stiff feeler gauge to push against the locating catch. Thanks again.
Save the claw hammer for nails . I pulled out the 10 pound sledgehammer. Think I’m gonna try a spring compressor to get another inch to get the bottom of the strut out tomorrow. The sway bar was hitting the knuckle. It won’t go down anymore. Don’t really want to mess with this control arms. But we’ll see and may have to do it like that. Thanks for your video.
A rubber o ring has come off the windscreen washer pipe it's inside the light. You can see it in the video it mat leak from there too making you think it's the seal
Yes, well spotted! The barbs on the nozzle also broke off meaning it kept pulling out and leaking. I ended up changing the entire lamp to clear and sealing the nozzle in place with silicone.
How much was the clutch replacement out of curiosity? my dual mass is getting noisy
£1300
Starts at 2:50
Some people like the intro waffle…not everyone though
@@BeavisPits Haha normally I do too! Just was in a rush last night when I watched this. Sorry for being a big grumpus! Wishing you a good week 💫
I don’t understand why people think it’s clever to steal rear light clusters from other people’s cars? People have no life but to commit crime by stealing something that doesn’t belong to them….🙄🙄
Ill do that in the summer. What years are without the swirls, as ill look for some 2nd hand ones (without swirl)
As a general rule, facelift 2010-on are flap free. Evoque inlets are also suitable.
The grease is more for high impact areas, bolts, arms, springs etc.
Looks good can it program the keys like the autel
Not sure yet. I don’t think my Autel AL519 could do keys, but the bluetooth one can.
@ yeah the blue tooth one maxi2000 something. I think I will Get this aswell, seem to have a problem with traction control and throttle response when cold. It’s the petrol i6 so no one seems to know much about it, don’t fancy handing it over to a specialist just yet£££££😂
@ I bough the icarsoft but sending it back, don’t seem to be able to change the head lights to hid and didn’t bring up any more faults than the maxi2000. Plus it can’t program keys either shame was hoping it would do all those things at that price.
