    Thanks for the video. It worked really well. I put some masking tape on the paintwork to avoid scratching and used a stiff feeler gauge to push against the locating catch. Thanks again.

    Thanks for the tip of not having to take the entire cover off inside. I’ll probably buy a clear lens now I know it’s not a nightmare fix. Good video

    Absolutely essential and the better way to do it. I chose the normal bulb, to avoid hassles related to the LED interference.

    Very useful thank you. I might suggest that an old credit card releases the side tabs with less risk to your paintwork! Just changed the bulb in under 2 minutes. A white LED will be far less efficient than a red one since all wavelengths other than red will be stopped by the filter. I'm staying with bulbs.

      Thanks Jon, good idea about the plastic credit card. I’ll revisit this again in a video soon. I may switch back to a regular bulb as the radio interference from the LED is awful.

    Another vote for the use of an old credit card to remove, was off in 30 seconds. Would not have thought of trying without seeing this so thanks.

    Hi Beavis, Can you do a straight swap from original light to a led.Ive seen the complete units on eBay.

      I swapped the bulb for an LED bulb. That was easy. I also changed the red lens to clear, also easy to do. Not seen units with LEDs built in. I’ll have a look.

    Did you source another led bulb or sort out the interference? Also does it have to be a red bulb?

    • @BeavisPits
      @BeavisPits  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It can be a white bulb. The lens has clear red plastic inside, even on the clear type. I have not yet changed the bulb and I still have the interference when braking. It is getting quite annoying so I will be looking at this soon!

    What is the bulb type for that center break light?

    • @BeavisPits
      @BeavisPits  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is a W21W type. The LED bulb I’m running is an Osram W21W Red LED type.

      Clear lens available online from various parts shops. I bought mine second hand.
