You should look into making a video about the Post Store in Post Oregon. I think we’re up to around 60 people as a population. Last gas to buy for a 100 miles on East 380.
There was nothing like walking in a old country store and hearing the wood floor squeak & creak. Lord what I'd give to go back in time and visit the old country stores in my neck of the woods in southern WV. Great Video !!!
Crow seems like a great guy!! Also a fantastic little store. Another great job of showing the physical beauty and the tremendous kindness that exists in Harlan County. ❤❤
My great grandfather was John Turner 1852-1925 lived in white oak and buried there. I’ve been to this area lots of times in my life and love every time I go back in there.
I'm a Michigander, in 2007 I moved for a year with a friend to Lexington Ky, we worked downtown at a scrap yard but outside of work we didn't have much to do, so we would hop in the car and drive for hour's through the countryside and small town's. Place's like this are true American, a display of how life was meant to be lived.
Awesome country store Coyote's! I just love those country stores like that, makes me happy that theres still some around! Thanks for sharing them with us!👍
Those little stores are great! They do have everything you need in one compact place....lots of stores had several pay phones out front, and it wasn't unusual to have to wait in line to use one...
THIS IS SO AWESOME. IM 63 YRS OLD. AND REMEMBER THE OLD COUNTRY STORE IN LAFAYETTE LOUISIANA. JUST LIKE YOUR STORE. IT WAS A COMMUNITY STORE .. WE WOULD MEET OUR NEIGHBORS THERE AND BUY WHAT WE NEEDED AND HAVE A BIT OF A VISIT. I MISS THOSE DAYS.. GOD BLESS YOU ALL
REALLY ENJOY YOUR VIDEOS. I'm building a camper van so me and my dog can live our lives traveling. I've seen seen several places in your videos, that we'll be coming to see and experience. THANK YOU for the inspiration.
I live in rural Ohio. Dg has destroyed or is working hard to destroy these stores. The only town around me that still has a home town store got a dg a couple years ago. The store is partially post office, partially flea market looking, some snacks and cigarettes. I'd guessing being the post office is the only reason they're still open.
Always remember the more we gain the more we lose. I was born in the 50's and can remember the small Mom and Pop stores, pay phones, Saturday night sock hops at schools,TV with 3 channels, out houses, having to remove one's hat before sitting down to eat, and cars with pull chokes. I would go back in a heartbeat if I could.
i'm from Winchester originally, but moved to Irvine a few years ago and i wouldn't trade it for nothin neither. i absolutely love this region, KY is so beautiful i can't hardly stand it! thank you for showing these videos.
I have done 7 mission trips in Appalachia apart of ASP APPLICATION Service Project. 3 times as a youth and 4 times as a young adult. I loved every minute. Helping give a old lady running water for the first time, to building extra rooms for kids. I got the honor of going to Harlan county twice. I am not sure if Dairy hut is still around. Dairy Hut had the best burgers I have ever had😵🤤🤤. Before I went to Harlon county I hated burgers with cheese and tomatoes. That only changed when I went to Dairy Hut. Till this day I have never eaten a burger with everything on it. Dairy hut was the only place where I would get a burger every day for a week with tomatoes and the fixings. 2007 my church youth group would go every evening for burgers and ice cream. Then we got lucky to go back in 2009. Surprisingly i was recognized and the lady knew exactly what I wanted to order. A double Chessburger with tomatoes, onions, pickles and a Vanilla ice cream cup. Every day twice a day. I was 5'7 125. I destroyed those burgers, and then I would have vanilla ice cream. AMAZING! Amazing burgers, and amazing people. From Aurora IL God bless to everyone living in Harlan county and the rest of Appalachia.
Beautiful Mountains ✨My father from Olive Hill Kentucky and my mother Clintwood Virginia ✨I am proud of my heritage and you will never find any better people 🌄✝️God Bless you all ✨✨✨✨
I managed a store that was not quite as rural as this but it was still a country store and I absolutely loved it. You will have the same regulars everyday like clockwork. I guarantee you I know how that store smells. People who are not from rural areas have no clue how valuable a store like this can be. If you need something in a pinch like something to drink, milk for your baby, soap, cigarettes whatever you need and you don't want to go all the way to town a store like that is worth its weight in gold.
True,, theses little store are so important to there small communitys,,, I used to stop at this store every day for about 4 years I work at a strip job just up the road from it. And on the weekends when I went to pine mountain game club I’d always stop there and get me a bag of ice for my drinks and some snacks for a long nite at the game club,,
I love that..that little store n those nice folks give me joy..i was up close to that way a few years ago with my cousin in his big truck deliverin furniture..i wished we could've stopped by that store..it reminds me of a little country store a mile from my farm growin up..mr spencer casteel.. you could get gas he a couple of pumps just like that store you could buy milk n eggs n bacon..buy your chicken feed get your chainsaw blades sharpened..his sweet wife would make big ol dagwood sandwhices..it broke my heart when he closed the store..that boar head n ted nugent story n picture is awesome.. God bless yuns all n have a blessed day
I live in west Virginia and I would not give this country living up for nothing in the world country living is the best God bless you and your family amen
That store reminds me of mr baggies country store located in the fairview community about 5 miles west of jonesborough,tn. In the 70's as a boy i remember grandma bonnie jones buting some thickly sliced cheese and thickly sliced piece of bologna. Loved eating a cooked bologna sandwich with a thick slice of cheese on them sandwiches. Man i wish we could go back in time to much simpler days.

I LOOOOVE Harlan county. My wife is from there. I feel more at "home" in those mountains than anywhere I've ever lived. The people I've met are some of the most down to earth and friendly anywhere.
Just came across you my Beautiful friend Love this old country store looking forward to seeing more of your videos soon. Peace and GOD Bless You Always from Saginaw Michigan Dontoons
Stumbled here by accident, how great is this? The accents! And of course that USPS attached to that country store, mountains behind it. The scenery is incredible. Might be a little country store but the real estate it's sitting on? Wow!
I love this video. Normally I don’t comment on videos. But I live in the Appalachia part of Va and We have a place like this filled with wonderful people all around. Living in the city is overrated. I know because I was born and raised in Northern Va and I’m never going back. God bless all y’all!!
When I was growing up in Elmore County, Alabama, outside of Montgomery, back during the last of the 1960s and the early '70s, I remember these types of local stores that were owned by simple folks, everyone got along. This was back in the days when EXXON gas stations were known as ENCO. I vaguely remember the green dinosaur gas stations.
When I was young (born in early 1964), I recall how very common you’d come across average railroad tracks. And Montgomery was really the only big city around. Growing up in Millbrook, Alabama, every holiday was special. Every holiday had its own family meaning, something that tied this whole country together back then. I especially recall how it was whenever my parents would stop by these country stores to chat or handle business, and my brothers like me were forced to wait it out until we went home. But I remember listening to those old timers at those country stores, and them using the old Southern words and phrases you don’t hear anymore. I think the only bad thing I recall in those years was Vietnam on TV a lot, but I didn’t understand it.
great video ! really nice area and store the food looks good , i remember we had those style pumps early 70's at our family's gas station , really cool history and view of laurel ky ..great channel !
I've never been here, but I'm not far away. I'll have to check this out sometime. You'll never find a nicer bunch of people than those at these little stores. I grew up near one that is fairly similar in Camp Creek, TN.

Dollar General is probably salivating to build a store right on top of them.
Nah, not enough crime for a Dollar General, maybe a Family Dollar!
