The so-called alpha needs betas the feed his ego. The beta needs the alpha for leadership. The sigma is not in the middle. The sigma has alpha like qualities and can provide leadership but the sigma likes to walk his own path and doesn’t worry so much about being popular or about the approval of others. Absolutely brethren. The sigma energy is pure comfort in solitude yet still feeds off conversation from others with strangers and random connection. We are alphas, minus the attention and validation on a mass scale. Sigmas are NOT a 'mix" of alpha and beta. Sigmas are intelligent, confident, loyal, generous and trustworthy. They do not seek to dominate, nor will they allow themselves to BE dominated. They are not "loners", they are very selective about with whom they spend time. Most of us have a close group of friends who are Sigmas as well, because we REQUIRE intelligence, confidence, loyalty, generosity, and trustworthiness from others. There's huge misunderstanding in defining a sigma personality. Sigma is all about negating conventional social hierarchy. It's not about 'who fits where' but what's best for a sigma nature.
It’s kind of hard to misunderstand a randomly made up BS concept. People like to feel special and since “sigma” is supposedly the rarest of all archetypes then it is appealing to self identify as that. But if everyone is special and rare then no one is. The concept of alpha and beta simply means leader and follower. And I hate to break it to you but if you exist within modern society you fit into one or the other. Self identifying sigmas think to themselves “well I could be alpha but I don’t need to have power over others to be happy”. If you’re a true leader others will naturally gravitate towards you like moths to a flame. You will be naturally propelled to leadership positions if you exert those qualities. I’ve literally seen people promoted into managerial roles even against their will in some circumstances simply because their leadership qualities were recognized and they were best suited in that position. As humans we actually crave strong leadership because a group with no leader is lost and directionless. And if someone truly exerts those genuine leadership qualities, as a society we can’t afford to let them hide in the shadows.
So true and when you assert dominance and presence in any situation it is powerful and everyone stares and absorbs your energy..it’s like they don’t expect the confidence and how genuine we are about things. Most wives do not exactly understand their Sigma spouses. At this point, I no longer expect them to. I just look at every situation from both mine, but also no their’s. Most of the time I see things from their view which makes me respectful, but it’s a curse because very few people see things from my vantage point. For years I thought everyone thought like I do, and really struggled. With videos like this I have realized how rare my thought process is, and now stay silent. I never feel better than anyone else, just glad I can circumvent the drama triad and remain calm.
I can relate and have experienced a lot of these things, the worst of all which keeps me from being in a relationship with other women is being wanted by other women. This is not the first time I've seen a video where you seem to fundamentally misunderstand sigma males. Being sigma isn't like being an ambivert (though we do tend to be that as well), where you're a mix of introvert and extrovert. The difference between an alpha and a beta is a matter of being socially dominant or socially submissive. Sigmas aren't a mix of both, we're on a different dimension. The difference between an alpha and a sigma is a matter of being socially dependent or socially independent. It's like you're trying to understand an ISFJ as a combination of an INFJ and an ENFJ and that's just not how it works. Alphas are socially dependent and dominant. Sigmas are socially independent and dominant. Betas are socially dependent and submissive. It's also possible to be socially independent and submissive, but they like to be unique and call themselves by a bunch of different random greek letters (omega, gamma, and delta are common), and nobody can really decide if they're just one type or many. First time I have heard of Sigma M actually, but her description and yours both fit me. I am more socially independant yet dominant in relationship, and would have considered myself somewhere between alpha and beta leaning toward alpha in independence, same only leaning toward beta in confidence. I have been considered by my friends as both alpha (could get any girl I want) and beta (as I will give openly to my GF freely and sometimes walked over) but I don't take crap, play games and when these start, I am done, would rather be alone. As a true blue Sigma male I truly believe you have never met one of us. We are all different but you're so far offside it's scary. Sigma people plan 6 months in advance and then figure out how to get there. That's why no normal people understand why we do certain things. We think best when alone making contingency plans. This is why we often own our own businesses and seem so mysterious when in fact we are creating a better world around us usually bettering the lives of the ignorant people that annoy us. We simply get tired trying to explain our logic to people who only care about themselves and will never understand it anyway. We are very considerate and caring people we just don't like attention. I'm a sigma, and there's definitely no beta in me. I follow nobody, and assert myself quickly when I believe I'm being done a substantial injustice. Minor inconveniences I will usually just try to ignore or let go because I'm not a petty person. The first impression that many people get of me is that I'm a beta because I'm so quiet, which isn't because I'm timid, it's because I speak when I have something to say, not when I have to say something, but interact with me for as couple minutes, and you won't see me as a beta anymore. I get along fine with beta males for the most part. Really, the only things betas do that piss me off are when they accept responsibilities that affect me negatively when they aren't taken care of, and their spinelessness causes them to accept responsibilities/perform tasks that they really don't have to and usually shouldn't, then the responsibilities that affect me aren't taken care of because they're off being taken advantage of somewhere. I clash with alphas in a real bad way, for the most part, generally because I don't put up with people being pushy towards me. I'm definitely not a mix between the two, I have my own traits
100% man. I just take it as an advantage when people at first overlook me. I would prefer to be under-estimated. Alphas always rubbed my fur the wrong way too, I remember I had almost no friends in grade school because the alphas didn't know what to think of me. I am Sigma. You're blinded by the shadowless mountain hiding in plain sight. You won't know your weakness until you fail to conquer my might. "I follow nobody" isn't completely true. I've been an Officer, in one capacity or another my entire career. Professionally anybody willing to put their life on the line for me is worthy of my trust. Personally I follow my (wolf pack of) fellow Sigmas. It's a long story (CIA) but every single person I have trusted in my entire life has betrayed, abandoned or sold me out except other Sigmas. Even when they knew I was innocent & the Sigmas didn't know anything other than their own integrity wasn't for sale. When I clash with Alphas its only because they won't stop talking and saying nothing, flat out lying, are selfish or Narcissistic. Betas end up being cowards when my enemy comes for them. I'm not mad at them for being true to their nature, but it is frustrating when anybody you speak to gets harassed by the super cops. But I hold no debts - Good or bad, everybody pays the reaper.

I wasn't always a sigma, yet I became one due to necessity. I am not evil or have evil intentions towards women, neverr had, never will have and yet, when a woman plays hard to get with me, she has already lost, because I instantly reject her. No friendzoning me, no playing hard to get and I will NOT become "just an option" for later. Something like that happened to me not too long ago when I met a woman while I played a Concert with my band (I am a rhythm guitarrist and backing vocalist in a rockband). We talked for some time, but then the tone in her voice was a dead givaway. She tried to play hard to get, but after listening quietly to her bullshit, I decided to stand up, turn around and walk away.
No matter where the Sigma is in or outside the organization. Alphas 'rule' hierarchies. Sigmas don't give a rip about hierarchy. They will run things from below, above, outside, if that is what is needed to achieve the just and right outcomes. They will almost never fire you. But if you need to be gone, they will ensure that happens, and most often they will arrange things so you think it was your idea. If your with a woman they want, and you are wrong for her, you will find yourself elsewhere and not know how that happened.
I feel like you’re describing me to a T. I have had and still have great times with women while still living my own personal life outside of us being together. I had women (by their choice) take me shopping, paid hotel rooms, buy me clothes, games and food, all off of their dollars. But they know I’m not into using them. It’s just a vibe thing. When a woman really likes a guy she will break her own custom made rules that she made for other men.

The reason for their development is a bit complicated but generally can be thought of as a lower level alpha when they were younger and became frustrated with their failure to be THE leader so adapted by isolating themselves and becoming stronger. Once they become older and more self confident their Sigma personaliry come out further.

The problem with Alpha is that the ego controls so much of the choices in his life. Sigmas are much more egoless, in general. He actually is the boss of himself, and his choices. His ego - which he has reduced in himself - doesn't control him. The Alpha doesn't really know himself, but strives to live up to a mental ideal - to dominate or control - based upon status and glory, all of that striving a sign of insecurity. The Alpha would have a hard time with failure to achieve goals while the Sigma can more easily learn from mistakes, brush them off, and move forward.
The person that you'll are talking about is a "well rounded person". Whom over the years have learned to make the appropriate adjustments when need be. And have achieved a high aptitude when it comes to time management ...

All my life I've had people tell me that I'm alpha but I never felt like an alpha I never cared to be front and center but what would always happen is that my alpha friends would always ask me for advice or would send people my way who needed an answer for whatever they were going through... Where it concerns Sigma males, I do appreciate your efforts to try and pin down some of the generalities. However, some of your examples are a little too precise and as a result can be misleading. The more specific, the less likely it is to be accurate. Sigmas are very difficult to pigeon hole, although I do applaud the recognition and attempt. With sigmas it is always better to understand what motivates the individual rather than simply ascribe a particular behavior to being Sigma. I think in some instances you are putting the cart before the horse. Nevertheless, thank you for the efforts.

If you're looking for Sigma males on the nightlife scene or online you may be disappointed. A mature Sigma male will plan a date unless it's early on and he's trying not to seem too interested. If he makes you plan a date or fails to properly plan one call him out on his bullshit, he'll appreciate your class and backbone. I believe the Sigma male needs teasing, incredulity and assertiveness from a woman at the right times to stay interested.

I'm Sigma. I eat Alphas and Betas for snacks. Not even my main meal, just boring, chewing. I don't even do it on purpose it just happens. I've lost friends for this reason but like I don't regret it because I easily make new ones. I'm loyal but not subservient. Us Sigmas are unashamedly weird but don't care. I've recently found out that I'm a sigma. Upon farther research I see that I'm just 1 in 500 dudes that fit the profile. The lone wolf analogy is correct, but it does get lonely sometimes. I don't think I've ever met another sigma, let alone a sigma female.
I recently met a woman that is so much like me it's scary. A fellow introvert, hates social media, prefers to spend her time alone when not with me, is more than happy to simply find somewhere comfortable for us to be together instead of bars/parties/restaurants. The biggest thing about her is she "gets" music the same way I do, and we can spend hours playing songs for each other and discussing the notes, vocals, messages in them. My boss falls under the "Sigma" label, and he and I are like brothers, we wander off to the backyard at his house and spend hours at the forge (teaching him blacksmithing) or simply sit by the firepit sipping whisky and discussing philosophy/life/the universe.
But marriage is often suffocating for me, my ex never give time to be alone. It's very tiring, and constraining. Now after my divorced I don't date anymore. I rather be alone.

It's more like "Alpha" is a technique that is used. A switch that is turned on. Like a performer going on stage. We use it, but it is not us at our core it's simply a small part.
There's huge misunderstanding in defining a sigma personality. Sigma is all about negating conventional social hierarchy. It's not about 'who fits where' but what's best for a sigma nature.
It’s kind of hard to misunderstand a randomly made up BS concept. People like to feel special and since “sigma” is supposedly the rarest of all archetypes then it is appealing to self identify as that. But if everyone is special and rare then no one is.
The concept of alpha and beta simply means leader and follower. And I hate to break it to you but if you exist within modern society you fit into one or the other. Self identifying sigmas think to themselves “well I could be alpha but I don’t need to have power over others to be happy”. If you’re a true leader others will naturally gravitate towards you like moths to a flame. You will be naturally propelled to leadership positions if you exert those qualities. I’ve literally seen people promoted into managerial roles even against their will in some circumstances simply because their leadership qualities were recognized and they were best suited in that position.
As humans we actually crave strong leadership because a group with no leader is lost and directionless. And if someone truly exerts those genuine leadership qualities, as a society we can’t afford to let them hide in the shadows.
So true and when you assert dominance and presence in any situation it is powerful and everyone stares and absorbs your energy..it’s like they don’t expect the confidence and how genuine we are about things. It comes straight from the heart with me mixed with intuition and a splash of logic. No facades, no BS, no vanity....just pure light and consciousness, forever and always.

I'm not interested in whether its rare or not. I don't want to lead anyone, but I can influence and inspire. This is how I have my say. Otherwise, I lead myself. I love the sciences, I love people and enjoy listening to well developed trains of thought from various perspectives, but tire quickly of mindless small talk. I don't participate in the hierarchy unless I have to, but in my business I have assigned an alpha type to manage it.
I celebrate my solitude but I have a wonderful relationship with a woman who I visit in the weekend. I have only couple of very close friends who I would defend with my life.

I don’t agree with the presenters assertion that they don’t plan dates, Or do a large, romantic gesture. Most of the ‘alphas’ I know are only alphas because someone like me allows them to be, but I am not afraid to step up and slap a bitch down when they get out of line. Well, as a Sigma brother, I do give a sh** about my wife's views, and I've been married longer than you have. But I get it. However, in the end, you are correct. Most wives do not exactly understand their Sigma spouses. At this point, I no longer expect them to. I just want an uneventful life so I can pursue my most important goals, and that, I'm afraid, is a lifelong challenge. One example: I am a painter (artist, with works in museums, collections, etc).. .and yet my wife has a VERY sensitive nose and simply HATES any smell of paint, turpentine, etc!!! That is akin to telling a musician: "I support your career choice, but I FORBID you to practice it in my house!!!" Wow. Hard to process, hard to find a tolerable solution. Not to be egotistical, but I have a lot of options and this helps me narrow them down in the future after quite a bit of healing from poor choices. This also helps me feel more ok with who I am at my core and to stop trying to fit into these other boxes that just don’t and won’t fit.

I just look at every situation from both mine, but also no their’s. Most of the time I see things from their view which makes me respectful, but it’s a curse because very few people see things from my vantage point. For years I thought everyone thought like I do, and really struggled.
With videos like this I have realized how rare my thought process is, and now stay silent. I never feel better than anyone else, just glad I can circumvent the drama triad and remain calm.
I can relate and have experienced a lot of these things, the worst of all which keeps me from being in a relationship with other women is being wanted by other women. That’s all that makes me feel good, I flirt with women only to purposefully ignore them to the point that either she has to text me all the time or there’s not even basic communication between us. This is not the first time I've seen a video where you seem to fundamentally misunderstand sigma males.
Being sigma isn't like being an ambivert (though we do tend to be that as well), where you're a mix of introvert and extrovert. The difference between an alpha and a beta is a matter of being socially dominant or socially submissive. Sigmas aren't a mix of both, we're on a different dimension. The difference between an alpha and a sigma is a matter of being socially dependent or socially independent. It's like you're trying to understand an ISFJ as a combination of an INFJ and an ENFJ and that's just not how it works.
Alphas are socially dependent and dominant. Sigmas are socially independent and dominant. Betas are socially dependent and submissive. It's also possible to be socially independent and submissive, but they like to be unique and call themselves by a bunch of different random greek letters (omega, gamma, and delta are common), and nobody can really decide if they're just one type or many.
Anyway, if you're going to make videos for sigma types, please try and understand us a little better. Thanks. And keep up the otherwise excellent work.
First time I have heard of Sigma M actually, but her description and yours both fit me. I am more socially independant yet dominant in relationship, and would have considered myself somewhere between alpha and beta leaning toward alpha in independence, same only leaning toward beta in confidence. I have been considered by my friends as both alpha (could get any girl I want) and beta (as I will give openly to my GF freely and sometimes walked over) but I don't take crap, play games and when these start, I am done, would rather be alone.

In college, I helped a friend who was going for her doctorate in psychology. Took all the tests. When my Rorschach test was analyzed, she showed it to me. It looked like I’d flatlined. She proudly said I was the only one with a balance like that, everyone was sloped to one side or the other. I laughed and said “Well, I’m either dead or a zombie!” It took a moment to sink in, and we both had a hearty laugh.
I love to listen to a date, but I can also hold a very good conversation as well.

I'm a sigma, and there's definitely no beta in me. I follow nobody, and assert myself quickly when I believe I'm being done a substantial injustice. Minor inconveniences I will usually just try to ignore or let go because I'm not a petty person. The first impression that many people get of me is that I'm a beta because I'm so quiet, which isn't because I'm timid, it's because I speak when I have something to say, not when I have to say something, but interact with me for as couple minutes, and you won't see me as a beta anymore. I get along fine with beta males for the most part. Really, the only things betas do that piss me off are when they accept responsibilities that affect me negatively when they aren't taken care of, and their spinelessness causes them to accept responsibilities/perform tasks that they really don't have to and usually shouldn't, then the responsibilities that affect me aren't taken care of because they're off being taken advantage of somewhere. I clash with alphas in a real bad way, for the most part, generally because I don't put up with people being pushy towards me. I'm definitely not a mix between the two, I have my own traits
100% man. I just take it as an advantage when people at first overlook me. I would prefer to be under-estimated. Alphas always rubbed my fur the wrong way too, I remember I had almost no friends in grade school because the alphas didn't know what to think of me. I remember scoffing in disgust as I watched kids literally kneel down and tie those guys shoes for them at recess, poor kids.
I am Sigma. You're blinded by the shadowless mountain hiding in plain sight. You won't know your weakness until you fail to conquer my might. "I follow nobody" isn't completely true. I've been an Officer, in one capacity or another my entire career. Professionally anybody willing to put their life on the line for me is worthy of my trust. Personally I follow my (wolf pack of) fellow Sigmas. It's a long story (CIA) but every single person I have trusted in my entire life has betrayed, abandoned or sold me out except other Sigmas. Even when they knew I was innocent & the Sigmas didn't know anything other than their own integrity wasn't for sale. When I clash with Alphas its only because they won't stop talking and saying nothing, flat out lying, are selfish or Narcissistic. Betas end up being cowards when my enemy comes for them. I'm not mad at them for being true to their nature, but it is frustrating when anybody you speak to gets harassed by the super cops. But I hold no debts - Good or bad, everybody pays the reaper.

A Sigma male falls outside the Sociosexual Hierarchy and is on the same level as an Alpha similar potential, with a different dynamic on qualities and personality trait’s. A Sigma never displays beta mentality. Hope you can correct this in your video or future videos.

I wasn't always a sigma, yet I became one due to necessity. I am not evil or have evil intentions towards women, neverr had, never will have and yet, when a woman plays hard to get with me, she has already lost, because I instantly reject her. No friendzoning me, no playing hard to get and I will NOT become "just an option" for later. Something like that happened to me not too long ago when I met a woman while I played a Concert with my band (I am a rhythm guitarrist and backing vocalist in a rockband). We talked for some time, but then the tone in her voice was a dead givaway. She tried to play hard to get, but after listening quietly to her bullshit, I decided to stand up, turn around and walk away.
Betas work for Alphas. Alphas work for Sigmas. It’s really that simple.
No matter where the Sigma is in or outside the organization. Alphas 'rule' hierarchies. Sigmas don't give a rip about hierarchy. They will run things from below, above, outside, if that is what is needed to achieve the just and right outcomes. They will almost never fire you. But if you need to be gone, they will ensure that happens, and most often they will arrange things so you think it was your idea. If your with a woman they want, and you are wrong for her, you will find yourself elsewhere and not know how that happened.

This sums up me, I grew up with 6 sisters no brothers, born on valentine's day. I can listen relate to girls, I don't push myself on women, but somehow the downside is girls I'm not interested in take my kindness for me liking them and puts me in awkward positions. I don't seem to attract super hot girls but always seem to lure the nerdy very intelligent women, which sounds great but honestly they say you want what u can't have and when I'm with smart intelligent women I find I'm desiring quirky off putting clumsy girls. 😫

The simplest explanation is an introverted Alpha. The reason for their development is a bit complicated but generally can be thought of as a lower level alpha when they were younger and became frustrated with their failure to be THE leader so adapted by isolating themselves and becoming stronger. Once they become older and more self confident their Sigma personaliry come out further.
sigma is the real alpha. It’s the poignant intellectual who speaks the truth and values it over everything. It’s the real definition of a high value man.
The problem with Alpha is that the ego controls so much of the choices in his life. Sigmas are much more egoless, in general. He actually is the boss of himself, and his choices. His ego - which he has reduced in himself - doesn't control him. The Alpha doesn't really know himself, but strives to live up to a mental ideal - to dominate or control - based upon status and glory, all of that striving a sign of insecurity. The Alpha would have a hard time with failure to achieve goals while the Sigma can more easily learn from mistakes, brush them off, and move forward.
Speaking the truth with a constructive attitude. Destructive honesty is not good.
The person that you'll are talking about is a "well rounded person". Whom over the years have learned to make the appropriate adjustments when need be. And have achieved a high aptitude when it comes to time management ...

Where it concerns Sigma males, I do appreciate your efforts to try and pin down some of the generalities. However, some of your examples are a little too precise and as a result can be misleading. The more specific, the less likely it is to be accurate. Sigmas are very difficult to pigeon hole, although I do applaud the recognition and attempt. With sigmas it is always better to understand what motivates the individual rather than simply ascribe a particular behavior to being Sigma. I think in some instances you are putting the cart before the horse. Nevertheless, thank you for the efforts.

If you're looking for Sigma males on the nightlife scene or online you may be disappointed. A mature Sigma male will plan a date unless it's early on and he's trying not to seem too interested. If he makes you plan a date or fails to properly plan one call him out on his bullshit, he'll appreciate your class and backbone. I believe the Sigma male needs teasing, incredulity and assertiveness from a woman at the right times to stay interested.

Us Sigmas are unashamedly weird but don't care. More importantly our bonds to close friends(over 5 years minimum) and close family are lifelong but immune to gaslighting so like I'll avoid family members that even try for their own well being.

You failed to mention the inevitable disappointment & resentment a lot (read "most") women feel & express when they find out they thought you were an Alpha "bad boy" & you reveal your quiet, softer side. I've recently found out that I'm a sigma. Upon farther research I see that I'm just 1 in 500 dudes that fit the profile. The lone wolf analogy is correct, but it does get lonely sometimes. I don't think I've ever met another sigma, let alone a sigma female.
I recently met a woman that is so much like me it's scary. A fellow introvert, hates social media, prefers to spend her time alone when not with me, is more than happy to simply find somewhere comfortable for us to be together instead of bars/parties/restaurants. The biggest thing about her is she "gets" music the same way I do, and we can spend hours playing songs for each other and discussing the notes, vocals, messages in them. My boss falls under the "Sigma" label, and he and I are like brothers, we wander off to the backyard at his house and spend hours at the forge (teaching him blacksmithing) or simply sit by the firepit sipping whisky and discussing philosophy/life/the universe.

It actually amazes me lol. Everyone here is like "yeah, that's totally me, bro." and it's quite amusing.
But marriage is often suffocating for me, my ex never give time to be alone. It's very tiring, and constraining. Now after my divorced I don't date anymore. I rather be alone.

Sadly, you can't just wake up in the morning & decide you're going to be a Sigma man because you're introverted, partly because we're NOT introverted but mostly because it is something you are born with.
It's not an attitude, though our attitudes seem to be what most people focus on, it's who we are. We are the ones who "march to our own drums" & we're just as happy taking control when required as any Alpha BUT we are also happy spending time alone because, at the end of the day, we are the only ones who actually understand us.
The other thing is, we're not distracted by the thoughts & views of others. In fact, we (that is I) love hearing what others think & feel about the world so we can have more to draw from when forming our own opinions

I see loads of men calling themselves sigmas here in a comment section as if it was a good thing. i'm 40 and i fit perfectly in this description. the only difference is that I'm not afraid to call myself a loser. i am still in that 80 percent of men that women will never find attractive.
I thought I was a sigma. Then I took a test that said I’m a gamma, which makes more sense when I examine my history. Then I took another test that said I’m a sigma, which I may be becoming as I age. So I took another test and it said I’m equally divided between gamma, sigma, and beta. 🥴🤣

This video was VERY educational for me. I learned more about myself than I ever did from my "sign" or personality tests! Which have only been at most, 60% accurate. Every point she mentioned in the video, I thought "That's me..."
Yes my group of 10 friends is run by the one Alpha male and 2 sigma males. I am 1 of the 2 sigma males. The Alpha is physically stronger and has a louder voice and is bigger. Though he is not as cunning composed or mysterious as myself or the other sigma male.

What you have said is so true. I am sigma male, give me a agressive horse in a round school no problem ! I train dogs and horses with kindness but firmly if my order is not obeyed I make my displeasure know with a growl . If I call horses and the dogs I use a whistle,my mouth. If women would want some one like me ?. They probably need to be military happy to be on deployment but happy to come home to a loyal partner .
People frequently mistake Sigmas for Betas, but we are OK with that because you will be caught completely off balance when you realise you were wrong.
