We've all done this overthinking thing! I was taught to always start at the consumer and work backwards in the same way you would check a faulty tail light by testing the bulb first. Good video all the same👍 Keep em coming
I suppose that the test lamp at the rhs screen positive shows that the feed is OK but what about the 0Volt return? Is this common to the other side or separate too? If separate then it might be an issue.
Can you confirm if a new screen was the fix? I have the same issue ( I know it’s common) I fixed my Ford Focus one years ago and the issue was under the plastics at the bonnet.. same idea you had by the looks of it. I’d have thought the only Connections on the A pillar would have been for the heated wing mirrors?
also... if you don't have a thermal imaging camera handy you can see if the screen is working by fogging the inside of the glass with your breath and watching to see if it clears around the heating elements.
well done buddy. very helpful. same fault in my Transit Custom 12 plate. Right hand side packed up working. Haven't checked my fuses yet but knowing where that yellow wire is that feeds the power to screen is a little blessing for me. I was wondering though, is it possible for the connection to windscreen to fail. I would imagine its some kind of connector at the screen?
@@intelligentauto737 I was testing Range rover heated screen the other day I used a bulb in it's place, then I thought about it resistance check just wasn't sure if would be a valid test. did make sense, it tested open circuit. Haven't tested a known good.

I think we have all over complicated a repair at some point or another. I’m loving your channel. 👍
I'm loving your videos, but did you check the earthing of the RH side of the 'screen?

Great Video !

is it same for transit mk7 2012
I need a new windscreen on my 2016 transit but I want to upgrade to a heated windscreen and I'm hoping I can just add the wires and a switch
Great video thanks 😊
Watched this just in time, I’ve got one in next week with left side not working
Very helpful thanks 👍
🎩 offs for showing your struggle 👍🏻
None of us are perfect and I think we need to embrace that.
Hi,would a resistance check be valid test on the screen itself?
Possibly would as this would prove an open circuit

Thanks
It would have been easier with SnapOn tools! 😂
