My orange plug was partially tape into a loom. I couldn't find it at first. I've used it for a live feed for my reverse camera. I now have an interior rear view mirror 😊 Thanks for the information 👍

Great video. However 2 mistakes. 1). It’s DC so positive and negative supply. No live and neutral. Also when connection on to a powered unit you should always connect the negative first. I’m an electrician by the way. All in the detail. However you are 100% spot on regarding the power in the back. Really impressed. Keep up the great work.

@MrDbow2010 My understanding when DISconnecting cables the negative is disconnected first then the positive. When CONnecting as in this video, connect the Positive THEN Negative. I'm not a electrician. I just know how to do research. Cheers

i am fitting a reverse camera to my transit custom 2020. You need a connection to the reverse light to switch the relay and also a separate 12v supply , I was going to run a supply from the fuse box and saw your video. Happy days i have a supply and also a 12v socket at the back of the van Thanks pal

    • @tomkatgastraining

I believe it is the same as the 2 in the front protected by a 15amp fuse. The power goes of about 2 minutes after you turn the ignition off just like the 2 in the front. I checked if the wire got hot after our 6 hr drive and it seamed ok. I guess if you treat it like the ones in the front you will have no problem

If you have a simple transit custom panel van then there should be no problem taking power direct from the battery and running it to a point in the rear of the van. The battery is under the drivers seat. You MUST put an inline fuse as close to the battery as possible and use 2mm CSA cables. This would allow you to draw about 25 amps or approx 325 watts. Fit a 25amp fuse. If you need more current then increase the cable size, the fuse and fuse holder accordingly. You could potentially draw up to 100 amps but this would seriously shorten the service life of the battery, standard or leisure.

It's there ARE no live and neutral, not IS no live and nuetral. DC uses positive and negative, (which is a bit easier when talking to someone than saying + or - ve!)

@@gbwildlifeuk8269 Nope, there is no live and neutral is correct in the way I used it. And Neutral is spelt neutral not nuetral.

Calm down, guy. Don't get so hung up on terminology. Polarity still exists in DC circuits, and that's what dude is trying to say here.

No real reason, manufacturers make all the connections available on their base platform and add modules and components as needed depending on how far the trim level is going for the particular build/order. Dodge does it too. My Truck has all kinds of connectors for the primo trim levels and I just buy them as needed and plug them in.
