Hello Donny, you just gained a new subscriber, from me, and like many i would like to know which canned fuels are worth while and what ones to stay away from, where we live we find either ethanol blend fuels , that i try to avoid, or canned gas. But from what I hear what you think.
The second thing has to do with a Poulan pro 5020 that has been run on canned gas( true fuel 50:1 mix) last time running it I set it down and it stalled out, now it will start after priming/ choking and about 10 pulls, run for 3-5 sec, stall and not restart for 2 hrs only to do the same thing again. I drained the true fuel, and refilled with pump gas mix 50:1, same results. Would like to keep it for a second saw to my new Husqvarna 545 x-torque.
I also don’t want the new saw to have a three year issue like the poulan if it is fuel related.
Thank you for your insight on the saws and the wealth of knowledge you share.

Very infomative video, but it convinced me not to buy a new saw with the auto tune feature Too finicky, fuel has to be perfect etc, and a lot of failures in the recent past. I am not a pro logger, just a firewood and land clearing homesteader, who has owned newer Husky and Stihl,s in the past, but they all wore out quickly and I went back to useing my old McCullochs and Pioneers. Many are 40 years old and still on the job with no engine failures. They all recieve regular maintenence, and that is key to the long life. Buckin mentioned that your dad worked for McCulloch, and I was wondering if they had any models that were prone to failure more than others?

Great info Donnie thank you, I have a 462cm on order and a west coast saw muffler cover waiting, can't wait to get my mitts on it. I have 2 cm saws now What would you recommend for maintenance. Other than the usual would it be beneficial to take it in to get a vacuum leak test and a plug in to computer once a year just to make sure it's running right? Or should I just keep it clean and run it. ( I use non ethanol 93 octane with amsoil Saber 40:1). I work with my saws it's just for peace of mind. I'm asking because these are my first autotune saws if I can't adjust for fix things with a computer I'm not really sure what to do with it to keep it at peak performance for years. Thank you for taking the time to teach us all.

@@donnywalker4691 oh yeah I love my jred it's my absolute favorite but I gotta say for what I paid for the echo it's incredibly impressive and reliable starts every time , I need to have a tune up done on the 2172 it was brand new when I received it but it had sat in it's box for about 8-9 years never being touched so I think some stuff like fuel lines filters and that kinda stuff may have suffered from dry rot cause it's starting to have some small surges at idle like 5-600 rpm bump and then back to normal so I'm thinking if just doing a swap on all those parts carb, lines, filters, and plug cause its a great runner and I wanna keep it going for as long as possible

Do you have a patron or way people could donate a couple bucks to the channel. I live in Oregon and I have some old saws that need rebuilding but I think the shipping would be to much for a round trip and your work .Do you ship/work on saws for people in the states? I figured the next best thing to do is shoot you a couple of bucks to possibly pick your brain and support the channel.
