Either parent is a British citizen at the time of the child's birth, or

I was born in the UK, in 1980. My parents are Nigerians; and did not have the indefinite to-leave package before they left back for Nigeria together with me in 1981. I was just a year old when my parents took me away.
I returned to the UK for the first time, in 2021 after being issued a British Passport and was sent to me in Nigeria. OTHERWISE, I would not have been able to return to the UK.
My Question now is this: Is the same 1981 act binding on me even though I was born here in the UK?
I believe you got your passport based on the fact that you were born before the laws changed in 1983, when passports were issued based on birth.
I have an almost similar issue only that I was born in 89 and taken out after 2 years. Only returned as a student in 2022. Now I'm being told I may have no chance of getting my passport.
But I'm quite sure there's a way around it. I'll be happy to know if anyone knows a way to fight for it
