Real-time Marketing, RSS Feeds & Subscription Centres - Dynamics 365 Marketing

  • For my own website, I have a way for people to subscribe to different categories of blog posts. I give them a subscription page and the option to select which types of content to receive. I appreciate that not everyone is interested in all of the areas I cover, so they can select accordingly so that when a new blog post hits my RSS feed, an email goes out to only those who want that kind of content.
ClickDimensions has an RSS Feed connector, essentially giving users the ability to create the same kind of experience. D365 Marketing does not, BUT now with Real-time Marketing I figured out a way that we can achieve this. I use WordPress and make sure each blog post has its own category, so I am approaching this from that perspective. Sorry, this is a long one, but there are a lot of important parts to get right to make it work. Watch on to find out how!
    Contents:
    01:46 - WordPress Categories
    02:43 - Subscription Lists

    07:56 - Event Trigger
    09:56 - Real-time Marketing Email
13:44 - Flow in Power Automate
    19:56 - Real-time Journey
    21:03 - Final Email Received

Megan, one thing I noticed was once you create the attributes on the event trigger, we cannot go back and update/add to the list :(

This is correct. At the moment you cannot edit a live event trigger. Hopefully that's something that will be added in the future so you can adjust if you need to make a change once it's live.

    Hi Meghan
What is the newly added bindingid field in the unbound action step within the Power Automate Flow? I cannot find any documentation on what is it used for.

Hi Deepak, that is for an upcoming feature I believe, but until there is documentation, it's not something to worry about (Microsoft can of course always change their mind about new features). It is not required and can be left blank when creating your Unbound action step. Also, based on the question you asked two months ago below, you can now edit and add to the list of attributes on your trigger which is good news!
