About this game:
See how considerate you can be, without worrying about what others think. The smash-hit game "KUUKIYOMI: Concider It!" is coming to Steam with some new problems to consider and a two-player mode. Take it with you wherever you go.
"Turn right"
*Turns left*
"God he's good"
I swear to god this man has the greatest comedic timing whether hes aware or not
@@RandomUserYTisFailing You're supposed to be the character at the moment, so he turned left instead of right
I was in the middle of typing that when I read your comment
this was when I lost it
*if the scene continued*
"Your other right."
I love how NL'S Tetris brain takes over and he doesn't even notice the robot because he's prioritizing the SEND
For anyone interested kuukiyomi literally translates to "reading the air"
Really funny how they take on that particular subject in this game
So, reading the room.
@@DoctorShroom ye it just doesn't directly translate
vibe check
@@ahhhhyes really? I feel like it does. "Reading the atmosphere" makes sense in english, doesn't it?
空気 was a word that I was actually surprised how well it *does* translate.
In the "call the waiter" scenario, the key fact is that the bell for calling the waiter is next to you - so it's hard for anyone else to reach, and it's your responsibility to notice when they need it.
He also let all the rectangular egg sushi make it to the chicken at the conveyer belt restaurant
@@PodreyJenkin138 I guess you have to actively call for the waiter
When he served that poor near-heat-stroke woman piping hot coffee I felt that
you will offend many people here by "misordering" request. she did ask for coffee no?
@@Aiveq Yeah but she asked for the drink because she was clearly hot and thirsty for something cold, so when it's revealed the cold coffee is out, I think the cold tea is the next most considerate option
@@pseudopod4835 no. she asked for coffee because she wanted coffee. buying different drink will be insulting/condescending. local "fuck you" is all you gonna receive here for such moves and drinking it your self
@@Aiveq Hey man, can you get me an Ice cream, Viveq comes back with a block of cheese
@@gamesdisk if ye pass me that chocolate so i can make a cake
15:58 a pattern has now formed: NL cares more about a tetris score than the wellbeing of Gundams everywhere!
He was supposed to get underpants for that poor embarrassed robot.
@@varedna I bet you he was thinkin "Man I wanted a t-spin to send em' "
@@varedna I didn't even realise those were underpants until you mentioned it...
When he took that poor robots arm and Yeeted it just to get a tetris, I knew NL was secretly a monster, it's finally come to the surface.
Oh huh were you supposed to considerately fix the robot? I took it to mean that you were having the robot sacrifice its arm for the greater good. I guess it probably makes more sense to identify with an outside viewer and fix the robot though.
@@o_o_o_o_o-o_o_o_o_o It was def confusing. I didn't understand until the one later with the T-piece. It makes more sense with the T-piece because the robot is naked and the T could function as underwear for him
o_o_o_o_o o_o_o_o_o I’d assume it’s choosing to give the robot his arm in place of satisfyingly finishing the tetris block
Bunch of autists
And he didn’t even give the robot pants the second time through. Guess he loves shaming robots in public as well.
I love how the second he sees a Tetris piece all other considerations are instantly forgotten.
😭
Capital offense to cut in line, but what about using another's grocery store points without asking?
What about ordering more than 1 meat at the deli?
I understood that reference I must be a veteran
rivanianx A large multitude of meats, but only one at a time, while a line waits eagerly behind you?
A war crime.
She's got bigger problems than politeness is where I landed on that particular interaction
That moment when u realize NL was sandbagging so others wouldn't feel insecure about how inconsiderate they are
these are advanced levels of consideration
"Is it inconsiderate to go to the bar as a bald person?" The real questions..
6:48 "We walk closer to the road so if a car hops the curb we'll be absolutely obliterated and she'll only be psychologically scarred for life."
Yelling: ARE YOU KIDDING ME, IM THE MOST CONSIDERATE MAN ON PLANET EARTH
I too am extraordinarily humble
Nimble Sheep Venomous you’re wrong! ME, I am the most humble, very humble INCREDIBLY HUMBLE!
After Trump you mean ;-)
20:28
Cowboy 1: *Slides drink to cowboy 2*
NL: *Catches drink meant for cowboy 2*
NL: Uh oh...
I love how the game sets you up to fail at that one
How was he supposed to know? Those cowboys are inconsiderate
@@SkribbleNL You've yee'd your last haw, pard'ner
Pass me a drink.....barrr tender
@@Thefuzzion115 the cups slides off the the table comically
My favorite part was when you left two and a half hours after the shift ended when you were the boss. Never change NL, your work ethic is showing. This one had me in stitches!!! I would love to see more!
Egg Daddy is only vaguely considerate.
Just trying to get those engagements on this video up. I want it to go viral.
Wholesome thread 🙂

"Turn right"
*proceeds to turn left*
"God, he's good"
... He turned right tho
It was supposed to be characters right, not the players
@@miwiarts We are looking at him from front view so he actually turned left (hope I am not getting whooshed)
@@miwiarts The character turned to his left.
For those Tetris segments, I think you were supposed to put the piece on the robot. The first one was his arm and the second were his pants.
that's like showing tiger woods a one putt for birdie and asking him to not tap it in
@@Northernlion There's an entendre to be doubled here, I can taste it
Finally NL gets to unleash his full Unparalleled Canadian Strength in it's most raw form. The rivers fill overflow with consideration and tolerance.
They need a deli counter scenario to REALLY test true consideration
Mate, I worked at a Deli counter in Kiwiland for 9 or so years and I actively ignored line-jumpers and twats who wouldn't get off the bloody phone... I'd love to see how this is handled in Japan as none of my host families trusted my language skills enough to take me shopping XD
@@viennperidot1119
Do you know the deli counter saga, I think he was referring to that. (How much different meats can you order?)
I have been living in Japan for 6 months and I am not sure I have ever seen a deli counter though...
@@tobin1677 B1 or B2 of shopping malls! That is where they lurk.
@@PodreyJenkin138 umm, I think it was somewhat accurate but it's hard to say as I watched the video 10 months ago and have since forgotten the content. As a whole though Japan is a very courteous place.
"Turn right", proceeds to turn left followed by "God, im good".I spit my drink.
But that WAS to the right? I'm dumb?
@@bryce4395 it was to NL's right, but not the character's
@@alexkozliayev9902 oh. yeah, makes sense.
you should totally finish this one if it isn't a long game. Just one extra treat for a random day
^ Would absolutely enjoy this! Great video
19:35 Can't believe there was no comment here about the game constantly mocking NLs lack of hair XD
If only one of the levels had him saying please to his phone assistant
This game shows how Enel is truly a considerate and respectful egg. Keep up the amazing content Eggdaddy
Now I know why Canadian men keep sitting on my girlfriend's lap on the subway.
If she is dressed like a Gundam, you got yourself a keeper.
Strongly disagree
I remember a flash game called something like public bathroom etiquette, where you saw a row of urinals and had to decide which one is the politest choice, depending on which urinals are already occupied.
"She is a .... like literally she has a cow head" 11/10

NL, if you like the style of humor in this there's a switch game called Mom Hid My Game that you might enjoy as well.
13:58 You're not supposed to touch other people's food with your chopsticks, so you should have taken it yourself (but not before waiting a bit to see if she didn't want it).
Not with your girlfriend
12:33 "it looked like my twitch-con Meetup"
Nooo omg 😭

Did i just see a reference to Grave of the fireflies in there somewhere?
I audibly cried "Nnnooooo!!" the moment I saw it. Such a sad movie!
It was just weird and didnt fit at all
I finally saw that movie for the first time a couple days ago and I think I'm just going to be sad forever now.

@@gartgartsman478 I feel you man :((
The bowling one really got me
16:57 Clearly, the right thing to do is play your music on speaker so the entire train can hear it.
2:54 I think the considerate action would be to get something non-alcoholic so you can drink your drunk friends home
Though this is Japan- while in a country like america you'd want at least one person able to drive, over there the public systems are much more readily available.
@@YourCrazyDolphin True, true. But still, I think it's always safe to have a sober friend to make sure nothing get's out of hand
I would said its impropriate in omiai or blind date not to get alcohol, if the other party want to drink alcohol. Its like party mood killer. So i would said beer is right choice.
The jumprope minigame at 11:00 actually made me choke on my coffee. Thank you for this very blessed video Ryan :)
When he bought the overheating lady a hot coffee, I cringed internally but did not show it so he wouldn't feel uncomfortable.
面白い動画をありがとう!!
日本より愛をこめて。
15:23 No.54 is a grave of the fireflies reference i was sweating, scared NL would cause this poor boy’s sister to starve
Hold her hand, you fool! She has gifted you the supreme honour of her hand, and you have not embraced it!
Uh is 15:25 a Grave of The Fireflies reference? Oh no
18:23 Oh my god this is the exact same reaction as in the Key and Peele skit with the retired specialist who tries to catch a bullet to the stomach! The clap and the groan! It's PREFECT!
about the bus stop one, in japan, all buses say for you to wait until the bus has made a complete stop before getting up, since you could get injured, or hurt someone else
That's such a good way of doing it, I wish that was how it is in England! You have the ding the bell and scramble to the exit while it's moving lol. Even upstairs.
@@TheLugiaSong when I was in Japan, the driver always waited for everyone to get in or out of the bus before leaving the stop
I was here when this video was called "Japanese Politeness Simulator"
Also just cuz you said you're reading the comments, I wanted to mention how much I enjoy every single one of your videos. You are one of the few people that make me laugh, and I appreciate it.
Very inconsiderate of the game to rate you poorly despite your efforts.
"Oh I know this one!" Fails instantly
This had me dying.
thank you for making me laugh the first time in two weeks, I really needed that ❤
PS: anybody else got the Feels during the Grave of the Fireflies reference?
Kuukiyomi roughly translates to "Reading the Air", and it is a phrase used to express people reading the situation and acting appropriately. There is a slang called "KY" (as in "That person is KY") for kuuki wo yomu nai (can't read the air) for people are bad at doing this, saying this at inappropriate times, not timing a punchline, etc. The expectation is that you can do what is expected without being told.
I'm KY af apparently :'(
"Turn right" *turns left because the character is facing NL "WE'VE DONE IT!!"
the fat yellow ranger bit's a bit messed up, largely bc the first actor who played him did commit suicide over being typecast
lookatroopa oh shit that’s a bit? I don’t really know anything about power rangers; I just assumed it was a “no one else wants to take that role so you should”.
Gotta love how NL genuinely does a lot better at Japanese manners than a lot of the actual Japanese VTubers who streamed this gamw
6:15 This exact situation happened with me and my gf in Korea. The guy jumped to the other side of the rail
Aw, that's nice.
I remember when this video was called "Japanese Politeness Simulator - KUUKIYOMI: Consider It! (Northernlion Tries)"
Capitalize on the video making into the algorithm
You were supposed to go on the other side on the date so you can hold hands, her right hands were full :D
Edit: It even gave you a second chance, you egg!
the new title worked, this showed up in my recommendations POG
I would like nothing more than a Canadian version of this game.
This game has so much meme potential. Its crazy
11:10 Excuse me sirs I am going to have to fine you for having a large gathering in a public place.
14:29 Top ten anime betrayals....
Its interesting, some of these minigames to me seem to imply that the creators of this game have a distatse for Japansese politeness culture (IE: "The dog lying down for its master and the books falling in line.", while others seem to be universally positive things such as helping the woman with heatstroke and sick child. Might be a bit more nuance to the game than it appears at face value, or maybe I just got out of a college english course and am reading into this way too much.
Haha love how invested NL got - this was a really fun Northernlion Tries :)
The rooster at the conveyor belt: you let three eggs go by... you were slightly considerate... but... chickens... eggs... yeah...
Ohh I see... I was thinking, "is chicken sushi a thing??"
Here for the [current year] title change.
The grave of the firefly reffrence made me cry. Just by thinking of it
Follow the rules. Don’t break protocol. Stay in your place. Don’t question authority. OBEY.
It’s like a super polite Warioware. I’m down with this!
A minigame collection about social norms. This game was made for NL.
The game definitely has a theme of Japanese social norms, but that is not at all what the game is about. The game is about social *awareness*.
Such a new and interesting title. I just have to click on it.
This was gold! Loved to see more of NL’s politeness
Commenting to get this into the algorithm again after NL did a Smallant!
Walking street-side on a sidewalk is an oldie, in which the gentleman becomes a bulwark against mud splatter from the dirt road.
17:57 the one that looks like wings is actually beancurd. I think you're supposed to take the egg ones.
I winced at the game when I saw that one. I knew we were supposed to take the egg ones, but couldn't tell which ones they were without color.
Game "turn right!"
Northern *turns left*
Me *lays there questioning my right from left * 10 years later... "BUT WAIT"
19:50 Char Aznable always rides the red Mobile Suit! Goddamn it, this one got me good!
one year and new thumbnail style later this gets on my recommended page to rewatch. If only we could actually go out and apply the wisdoms of this video irl
2:42 Santa should go for the tree, not get so close to the kid... consider the poor child...
"Turn right"
*Turns left*
14:00 _YOOO_
Came back to pog the algorithm as this game pops off
In Tokyo if someone wants to get past on the escalator, simply sprint ahead at 20mph
This was great! I'd love to see you play more of this game honestly
i love how the expectation is that you should let everyone else be inconsiderate and suffer for it every time.
Such is life, die good or live evil.
The lesson is that if everyone sacrificed their well being for others the world would be a better place, even if that means being considerate to some assholes on the way there.
for anyone wondering, kuuki yomi is the Japanese equivalent to "reading the room" ! I've lived in Japan now for a bit and I'm still learning but honestly, this game is like a hilarious tutorial for life here.
P.S. I'm Canadian too and it prepared me for n o t h i n g
@@RandomUserYTisFailing As far as talking to C! Definitely, she was the only person not being talked to. And then when her drink is empty, yes he should have pressed the button. Not so much ordering for her, but it's really common for someone to see your empty drink and ask if you want another!
@@pseudoasphyxia Yeah, NL's character was closest to the buzzer, so he should have pressed it. No one would have had the nerve to reach across him to do so
6:42 My anime/manga sense are tingling
This has been my favorite video all month.
I honestly had absolutely no idea what to do in half of these
2:49 Ryan when he gets a side job as a waiter in Japan.
13:33 Ryan after having his second child.
Nice one mate
"I paid for the seat, I dont wanna just use the edge"
That might be one of the most NL NL-isms I've ever heard.
Enjoyed this one more than I expected. Your comedic timing is off the charts.
kukiyomi
directly translates to read the atmosphere. That might have been a better title given the things that’s one.
Some of those levels are not about being considerate but about being blindly obedient. Also, it is noticeable that apparently in all the couple tests, the boy is expected to convenience the girl in all matters...not other way round
That grave of the fireflies reference is heartbreaking
Just came from the stream pog
At the conveyor-belt sushi I'm pretty sure you're also supposed to take the tamago sushi... Egg of all people should get that...
No. 55 was a reference to "Hotaru no Haka" or "Grave of the Fireflies" by studio Ghibli.
Oh god my life just improved 5 times atleast. I miss NL tries so much. I think the last 10 games I've purchased were due to this series.
at 14:30 if you listen closely ryan sharts
You gave your overheated queen a hot coffee..... very very vaguely considerate
