Great info, I have a 2012 pilot that had all three lights come on as well, I left the key in the ignition and it drained the battery and triggered these lights to come on, I cleaned the terminals added some brake fluid, replaced the battery with a new one and drove it for a minute and thank God the lights turned off, appreciate the help.
God bless the internet. You just saved me a big headache of a trip back to the dealership. Just fixed this problem in 2 minutes after watching this video. Had routine service done last week and they didn't connect this cable back tightly to the battery. That bolt was loose. 230,000 miles on my 2004 Pilot and hope to keep it going for a bit longer.
Great video Jay, had a 2005 one of these from 2007-2020. Put 270,000 miles on it. Change the timing belts and water pumps and they’re bulletproof. Change the diff fluid too. I had a transmission slip from 3-4 for 100,000 miles but never had to get a rebuild. Great information on the 4WD.
I have a 2011 Nissan Pathfinder SV 4 x 4 and the check Engine light has been on for about 2 years we had it checked and was told that there was a short somewhere they'd do what they do to make it go out and it would be right back on. I went to the positive battery terminal as you had shown on the pilot and there was 2 fuses and 3 wires. I took the whole thing apart and cleaned it all up and the light is now off!!! I just wanted to Thank You so much for your tips those of us who aren't that mechanically inclined learn so much from them
I swear if this is the issue I'm having I'll be so happy. I just finished up outside after midnight changing out all sorts of parts that I've been recommended. Also crazy that my positive battery post is incredibly corroded and I'm constantly having to clean it.
4 wheel drive is always on up to 18 mph. Every time the car starts from a stop the four wheel drive activates, but the differentials are not locked to prevent tire wear. That button is a differential lock for all four tires to get out of a stuck situation and should never be used on dry pavement because the diffs are locked..
The Ridgeline and Pilot are AWD. It works from 1st to 3rd gear. Anything faster and the system decouples and becomes FWD. The VTM 4 is just a Variable Torque Management system to help in more sticky situations. It basically changes the traction control to torque the wheels that aren’t freely spinning.
I have a VSA light and triangle with the! Started showing up this morning. When I stopped it and put it in part now it won't go back in to gear it's stuck in park. I have to use the key pushed down on top of the steering column to unlock it. Any ideas or suggestions? I'm sitting at AutoZone and I just realized the brake fluid was a tiny bit low and definitely needs to be flushed but I can't do that right now I'm out of town. Maybe buying a break switch and replacing that? Thanks in advance if you can help anymore I appreciate you.
good info on the 4wd. I have a 2006 pilot exl and this vehicle has NEVER been stuck in the snow and I live in Cleveland. It is a tank. And I've never used the VTM-4
And that fix is certainly better than putting the black tape over the lights...lol. A very nice looking Pilot! You should have no trouble selling it. 👍👍👍
i have honda pilot 2013 and i have low tire pressure in front 2 tires and my abs , vmt4 and low tire pressure light tutn on after fillup air vtm4 and abs still on
I was going to buy one with p0730 and some cat oxygen codes. It wouldn't go onto third unless you release and had gone past 3k rpm. Should I have bought it? Or was it a doomed tranny?
Most of the time its a problem with the variable timing solenoids. The oil pressure switches go bad on them an cause tons of misfires and poor drivability issues. I haven't done one on a pilot lately. But just did a Honda Crosstour and a Accord with the same problem.
when going over 60 in a 2012 honda pilot, sometimes vtm4, traction, and abs light come on. After you turn the car off and drive down the road, they disappear. Anyone know the cause. Might be an abs sensor but who knows...
Thank you so much jay for another good video. Appreciate it bro 👍 always and all the time you best 🙌 nice car and much love from Morocco brother. Good luck ^-^
I want to find one of these to keep for myself, the only thing to watch out for , is the timing belt. Make sure It has been changed! Besides that, heck of a car !
Not right with the VTM-4. The pilot is AWD. That button is just for being stuck and locks the rear wheels. It's basically a diff lock. It sends max torque to rear wheels. I'm only pointing this out because I know people think it's the only way to activate 4wd and that's not how it works.
C'mon Jay. What’s a few harmless lights?LOLSeriously, if it’s keeping the 4WD from working then they have to be addressed, especially if it’s for sale. Dod you have to adjust the valves? Honda Tracy needs to with the 21st century.
I like the Honda pilots, one of my best friends actually has a 2010. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve always relied on Toyotas only because my sister has one and we’ve driven hers for 15 years. You’re gonna probably be keeping me Company because I’m going on vacation tomorrow, since you are friends with me on Facebook y’all seen that I’m going to visit my dad in Los Angeles. Check out a whole compilation video that I have done which I think you’re actually gonna enjoy. I'm very surprised at the mileage on that.It looks pretty good. Thanks for the 4x4 drive info.I didn't know about that at all.
Maintenance is key for these pilots. I have 213k on my 03 and it looks just as good as this one
Don't be surprised, lol. I have 223K, and my Pilot looks mint.
You hit a home run with my 2011 Pilot; it WORKED! Thanks!

Nothing wrong with a simple fix 🙂👍

Thanks for the great information 👍.Mine Tailgate wiper blade also stops working Do. you have any idea why that stops?
And that fix is certainly better than putting the black tape over the lights...lol. A very nice looking Pilot! You should have no trouble selling it. 👍👍👍
Lights on for a reason! Fix it the right way or not at all!
Nice Honda! Hey Jay, did they maintenance the timing belt? It's a super nice/reliable vehicle!!

Have you had any 2009-2015 pilots (or any 3.5 v6) come in with fouling spark plugs due to the eco system running on and off on 3 cylinders!

You do a very good job working on the cars bro keep up the good work I always watch your TH-cam channel thumbs up 👍

How much yo sell your Honda Pilot for
How much u asking for it?
Already sold. Video is a week old, sorry
Had exact problem with an Acura m.d.x. a cruddy battery terminal.

Most of these older, first-generation Honda Pilot's are already in the scrapyard.
These things litter the roads here.
Thanks for the tips man!
Good information!
4wd button is like a lock AWD is always on.
Hay Jay I will buy the Kenwood stereo off of u if u would sell it
I was unable to locate a stock headunit so this one will be sold with the car :/

That's dumb you can't use 4wd in drive.
Its not meant for fast speeds. (most 4x4 systems arent anyway) use your low gears for more power and traction. Works like a charm
Jay jay if you ever get a Toyota Prius in inventory Owo for me please like I do when I first start my videos
