This is the song that introduced me to the B-52s. I was in Brazil in 1985 meeting the family of my future wife and this song was getting heavy radio play there. I taped the song off the radio and must have played it 500 times . I sill love this song, the B-52s and my Brazilian wife I have been married to for 32 years. When I hear this song it reminds me of my fist trip tp Brazil and my introduction to the B-52s. It will always be special to me. Eu Adoro B-52s

This song was such a big hit in Brazil that it was exclusively add to the Brazilian edition of the 1998 compilation "Time Capsule". I have the Japanese edition that comes with a DVD but it's a bummer it doesn't have "Legal Tender".

Ricky Helton Wilson would have turned 68 today, born March 19, 1953. Ricky died from AIDS. It's truly sad that so many gifted, talented artist' lost their precious life to this rarely talked about past global epidemic that has claimed 32.7 million beautiful souls. We miss you Ricky.

Klaus was a countertenor singer who just started getting attention starting in 1978, and who sang backup vocals to David Bowie on SNL in 1979. He was so early that AIDS was still called "GRID" ("Gay-related Immune Disease" at the time.

I listened to this song constantly as a youngster in a midwest town and felt almost scared to share it with anyone lest they not like it. I watch the video now almost 40 years later and I can still connect to that aspirational, confused kid who felt so energized by this.

Even in 2019, this has aged remarkably well! Has the styles of its time, but is still stylish. And it's so unbelievably positive and light hearted, it almost hurts... because this kind of attitude has become very rare these days.

eu nasci em 1977 , vou fazer 45 anos em junho desse ano e quando eu era criança eu delirava essa música e na juventude eu lembrava da minha infância e agora em 2022 ouço as vezes essa múisica e fico em boas lembranças e inspirações

I always felt, if you listen closely, there is an undercurrent of a hard rocking song there. Much of this bands catalog had that undercurrent. Fabulous.

Not punk nihilism, but despair nonetheless, because there might not be a future. There's a dark edge. That shabby Southern chic and retro hairdos spoke of having little, being poor, and life being all downhill after brief youth. No future on both personal and existential levels.

I absolutely agree. I found I feel the same way about of really good songs that got way overplayed back then. New order True Faith Bizarre,Love triangle and alot of the cures and Depeche modes top songs And they my favorite bands I revisit the albums and appreciate all the other stuff now. Whammy is a fantastic album and cosmic thing has some great lesser known ones

Nasci em 2001, mas tive a honra de meu pai ter vivido a adolescência nos anos 80 e apresentar para minhas irmãs dos anos 90 e posteriormente para mim esses sons incríveis que para mim são um dos melhores do mundo. Sinceramente, embora tenham muitos trabalhos incríveis, para mim, nada supera o som dos anos 80. Incrível. Essa música foi uma parte da minha infância e ''por acaso'' em 2022 conheci outras canções dos ''Tutus'' que eu nunca tinha visto antes. Grupo talentoso, com muita presença de palco que me inspirou a criar várias melodias este ano 🥰😍

Eu adoro esta musica dançante ouço ela direto dia e noite antes de dormir, eu tinha meus 21anos hoje tenho meus 58anos essa musica eu curti no ano de 85 .a gente quando é joven tudo brilha como ouro puro paixão saudades muito linda essa musica. Tenho até vontade de chorar com o tempo acaba a grande alegria fazer o que a Deus pertence.
Quero me especializar nesse estilo de música pra ouvir. Curto heavy metal, mas, ultimamente eu quero conhecer e me aprofundar no new wave e talvez nos seus subgêneros. Sem contar tbm nos filmes dos anos oitenta, é claro. Esse som é bom demais, "chocante".
Eu tb curto Heavy Metal & Rock e sei valorizar o que realmente é Música. Esta por sinal é uma delas. Por isso estou aqui apreciando o q é ÓTIMO e sem moderação!

Ricky Wilson was such a genius guitar player. So simple but hard hitting.
