What blows my mind is that the B-52s were already 'old' when this album came out. They were so F-ing good. They were like the coolest people no matter what generation you were from. They just maintained soooo long, as if their core beings were just 'Cool', forever and always. Love them to bits!

Man, IDK. I respect their place in history but I don't think they'd be considered cool by modern standards, nor by people prior to the 80's, and probably by significant portions of the 80's audience as well if we're being honest.

They were different with they're own unique style ! With all the shit about nowadays, im sure they would be appreciated .

It's amazing how 2 women's voices intertwine with each others vocals so perfectly.
They have very similar ways of singing but they're different it's weird but it works so well.
I love the originality of the B52's no one is like them. They seem to genuinely love making music together & having a great time. It shines through on their songs. I've just watch a mini documentary with them. It confirmed my perceptions of them. Lots of smiles & laughing. The obvious take away is, they've been together forever that takes a lot of chemistry as a band.

This was part of the soundtrack of my deployment to the Persian Gulf during the first Gulf War! Hit Pearl Harbor, Subic Bay, Singapore, Phuket Thailand, Sri Lanka, Bahrain, UAE, Saudi Arabia and Hong Kong on the way to and from, very appropriate song. I remember it blaring from the 1MC (PA system for non sailors) as we were passing Catalina on the way to Hawaii while working up on deck. This was also a staple played during our Steel beach picnics on the weekends, where we set up the barbecue and a volleyball net up on the helicopter pad, or hanging out at a bar in Thailand. Many memories. It got weird one day though when the Cure's "Killing an Arab" came on after this song, one afternoon going through the Straits of Hormouz, manning a.50 caliber machinegun. The last time I saw the Music Video of this was while having a beer at the Enlisted club at ASU Bahrain about 2 weeks after Kuwait got invaded. This song always reminds me of my time in the Navy.

Saturday August 26, 1989. After decompressing from a long bus ride north from Tampa Florida and settling into my new home living with my adopted dad and his family, I was able to listen to this song on VH-1 on my dad's tv, and then go for a walk down Maple St. Got downtown past Blinker Custard and decided I wanted a chocolate custard cone. Best tasting thing I'd had all summer. The breeze was warm, but not hot. I could smell the Sycamore's sweet sap on the wind, pulling my memory back to early child hood, in this same town, 15 years prior. Waking up to this sunny day, I knew that what I'd left behind wasn't a loss, but a stepping stone into an uncertain, but hopeful future. Those next 33 years have been full of surprises, pain, joy, and wisdom building events and emotions. Keep going, it's worth it.

Dee Donner Ramone the first 10 years of MTV changed soooo much about the music business. It kind of restructured WHY bands toured and how we consumed our music. But in a way, with as much nostalgia as I feel for it, in hindsight it was probably the kick off of a slow decline that has by today rendered it a dinosaur. I hate consuming music through download because I always thought one of the coolest things about being a fan was getting to touch that album after you bought it, the artwork, photos, song info, liner notes ect. I miss that.

This was the last song Julie Cruise( she sang the Twin Peaks theme song 'Falling') listened to when she transitioned from this realm. RIP Julie - may you roam free for all eternity.
