Lyrics:
And you can dance
For inspiration
Come on
I'm waiting
Get into the groove
Boy you've got to prove
Your love to me, yeah
Get up on your feet, yeah
Step to the beat
Boy what will it be
Music can be such a revelation
Dancing around you feel the sweet sensation
We might be lovers if the rhythms right
I hope this feeling never ends tonight
Only when I'm dancing can I feel this free
At night I lock the doors, where no one else can see
I'm tired of dancing here all by myself
Tonight I wanna dance with someone else
Get into the groove
Boy you've got to prove
Your love to me, yeah
Get up on your feet, yeah
Step to the beat
Boy what will it be
Gonna get to know you in a special way
This doesn't happen to me every day
Don't try to hide it love wears no disguise
I see the fire burning in your eyes
Only when I'm dancing can I feel this free
At night I lock the doors, where no one else can see
I'm tired of dancing here all by myself
Tonight I wanna dance with someone else
Get into the groove
Boy you've got to prove
Your love to me, yeah
Get up on your feet, yeah
Step to the beat
Boy what will it be
Live out your fantasy here with me
Just let the music set you free
Touch my body, and move in time
Now I know you're mine
You've got to
Get into the groove
Boy you've got to prove
Your love to me, yeah
Get up on your feet, yeah
Step to the beat
Boy what will it be
Only when I'm dancing can I feel this free
At night I lock the doors, where no one else can see
I'm tired of dancing here all by myself
Tonight I wanna dance with someone else
Live out your fantasy here with me
Just let the music set you free
Touch my body, and move in time
Now I know you're mine
Now I know you're mine, now I know you're mine
Now I know you're mine, now I know you're mine
You've got to
Get into the groove
Boy you've got to prove
Your love to me, yeah
Get up on your feet, yeah
Step to the beat
Boy what will it be

Yes 🙋🏾♀️
I thought I was the only one lol
🙋♂️😁🎶🎵🎵
Heck ya
It’s hard to explain how big she was/is. It was mania. Everyone dressed like her. Her songs were everywhere.
The Cyndi Lauper look.
When she's labeled as crazy or detached by some, tell me how you would handled being worshipped by the world for two decades? I like madonna. First crush.
It was worldwide mania
@@AlexRodriguez-qg3rz she was way beyond cyndi lauper
Far better than Taylor Swift
She was definitely one of the best in her day
Fantastic!!!
Old school Madonna..is the best Madonna
I tell my kids that all the time, Madonna just needs to leave us the memories of her from the 80's. She doesn't help herself by trying to mingle with today's young singers. She was a megastar in her youth that nobody can equal today.
Sure rite about tht
now she's madam x😊
She was fun and daring. She has gotten too full of herself now and her music has steadily gone downhill.
I'm nura
I love that she wrote this song in 19 minutes as a fuck you to producers and now it’s one of her most memorable songs.
Is this true?
Not true..her and Stephen Bray had a great relationship and the energy just flowed for this song.
Your joking.
❤ LEGENDARY ❤
Honestly Madonna's music brings back as close as you can get to the 80s...
I seriously never get tired of this song.

I agree bro. a time when Michael Jackson was still alive
Totally
I think you mean 'I was younger and life seemed simpler'. As well as some great music and films, 80s = AIDS epidemic, Chernobyl, more wars, higher crime levels, shorter life expectancy etc etc
@@caspar01Yeh the 80s were pretty shitty on a large number of issues
lets go.. come on hurry
Hard to believe the record label considered this a throwaway song. Turned out to be one of the biggest in Madonna’s catalog.
Shows you what they really know. Makes you wonder what else they threw away. Look at how much lame stuff we get.
@@jamesgoforth1606 SO MANY songs that record companies have wanted to trash, turned out to be SUPER hits. This is NOT a one-off thing. Shows just out of touch the company executives are - generally speaking - with the people they are marketing their product to. Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody springs to mind - EMI did NOT want to release that, and wanted it dropped entirely, and it went on to be one of the all-time defining songs, not just for Queen, but for an entire generation.

I’m not kidding, this music video makes this song 1000 times better.
I love that it was filmed when the Status of Liberty was scaffolded for a facelift before the 1986 Centennial of it.
It’s not really a music video it’s just a bunch of clips from her movie Desperately Seeking Susan

Madonna played a massive role in shaping and influencing 80s culture from fashion, attitude, and music. How many girls dressed like Madonna in the 80s, nearly all of them?
totally they did! lol
@Mr. Cairo I didn't say Madonna was the only woman to influence the 80s culture. But she certainly was a greater influence than all women you mentioned above. I think Debbie Harry comes somewhat close.
@@jzen1455 I don't think Debbie Harry comes that close.
WHY IS EVERYBODY ARGUING? Please, people. Stop.
@Mr. Cairo Whatever anyone's current level of popularity, Maddona's influence on the 80s will remain the same.
I remember when this song first came out it was huge. It’s the one that cemented Madonna as an icon and more girls started dressing like her.
It’s 1985, I’m 8 years old. Close knit council estate; three blocks of 16 houses. The first summer I really remember…..School holidays, sun is blazing on a Saturday morning. I go out the front, my neighbour but one, Dean (he’s about 15), also comes out the front, but with a ghetto blaster that he’s perched on the bin cabins. He’s blasting this song. I remember being bowled over by the beat, the rhythm, the energy and the voice. can’t really call myself a Madonna fan but this is my first powerful memory of popular music.
I agree
To all you Swiftees. Taylor Swift may be a billionnaire but Madonna in her day was huge. No artist now can compare to her popularity of the 80s.
100%
And she was able to relate/connect to more types of people. She was more real.
I totally agree. In fact, I think Madonna in this period sings rings around Taylor.

That bassline is amazing
Having worked at a disco as a dancer & being into electronic music gear at that time....this song is mixed using a device called a "sub harmonic synthesizer"....it's made by DBX & it halves the bass frequencies & reinserts them back into the track. Very very few songs are mixed with this device, very few individuals sound system can bring out those frequencies....This was the time when engineers developed low frequency effects, such as "Sensurround", another differing bass enhancing technology.
I so agree , it's wicked

One of them
I miss the 80s aka the best part of my life. Madonna the best female artist of the 80s as well....
Still a hit
One of the best pop songs ever made.
A humble suggestion to Madonna:
Album name: ‘Zephyr in the Sky’
An appeal by the fans to release a compilation of 20 masterpieces from Madonna’s catalogue personifying every emotion we have been through in this most dark age. And as we steer back to humanity and life. Search for the future.
A journey to the light, there is always a ray of hope and then the brilliant radiance of life.
Emotions and these songs clutch in perpetuity, the journey we continue.
Ray of Light
The deliverance of hope. The rhythm of life never seizes. There will always be that zephyr in the sky each night. Embrace it we can.
Masterpiece
Preservation of our most precious in peril. Our children, our people. Our kind. Caress them, protect them, enliven them.
Crazy
Souls without direction. Souls succumbing to the anarchy. Moments of lapse and dissolution of reason. There is always a method in any madness.
Miles Away
Separation - a reality, distancing in the new remote ecosystem - a way of life. Now from a far. Life anew.
4 Minutes
There were heroes. And there were those who saved the world, those who ultimately will and those who arrogantly don’t. We can all be heroes, for even more than a day.
Borderline
Barriers, walls, borders can neither prevent the triumphant human, nor conquer the invisible enemy. Humanity on the borderline of distraught. Never destroyed.
Die Another Day
Death can never be normalized. Not one, not a million. Fight. Death will come, in victory there will ultimately be death. But another day, its not our time to go.
You’ll See
Strength is personal, strength is contagion, strength prevails, strength is now our constant. You’ll see.
La Isla Bonita
My dreams are always my own and even I don’t control them. There will be sun again, there will be celebration again, we will hold hands again -into that beautiful sunset.
Ghost Town
The cradles of our civilization - devoid of voices, people, laughter, love. Ghostly in silence, our great cities shall live again - thrive they shall.
Like a Prayer
God. Life is a mystery, everyone must stand alone. You will hear the voice and I always hear you call my name. Forgive me. Pray.
Joan of Arc
You’re only human. Our weakness it can never be. A Joan in us all. New awakenings.
Sorry
Not so many need to be sorry. But sorry are those who remain bigoted in normalizing death and cheating life. They must be sorry. Usher in the preservers. Change.
Another Suitcase in Another Hall
In the anarchy of this world, don’t lose yourself. ‘I’ never goes out of fashion. You are not another brick in the wall.
Dress You Up
Making love, satiated the nights of darkness, all over, all over my body, mind and soul. The adrenaline of sex, of lust, of expressing it still.
Vogue
At night we lock the door when no one else can see. There was a time with my people around me. I’m good with me for now. I n deed to dance, you can too.
Human Nature
Express yourself don’t repress yourself. Humans we are humane but he not always is. The Emperors of yore and now shall not be remembered - not those who lacked humanity and mocked death.
I rise
I am talking about a revolution. A revolution of love. Of compassion. Of kindness. Our time is now and we shall not let the autumn leaves fall in vain. All rise and realize your own renaissance - for you and for the world.
I’ll Remember
I’ll remember the love. I’ll remember the love you gave me. Now that we’re standing on our own - we shall walk again together, we shall celebrate again together. Another circus, another show.
Music
Its about the music. Its always been about the music. Music helped me breathe this, live this, survive this. Music makes the people come together - yeah.
In gratitude, Madonna.

One of a 80s classic movie from MGM Studios!
I took my son to see Madonna at the Pontiac Silverdome, when he was 11 years old. In his profession, he met her a few times. He loved her until he died October 14, 2023. He was supposed to attend her rescheduled concert here in Michigan this month. He will be there in spirit.
So sad. Am sorry for your loss. Rest In Peace. 😔😔😔
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

*Fun fact* : The club in the video is the same club she requested her first single, Everybody, to be played. The crowd liked it and the dj helped her sign her first contract. This club is where she started defining a whole decade!

How old are you? 90?

PurpleRose7777 lmfao! Damn! Butt hurt, aren’t we?
PurpleRose7777 lmao! She keeps on. Must’ve been really butt hurt. I’m sorry, sweetheart
Madonna carried the 80s single-handedly!
The hair, makeup, fashion, aesthetics, music, music videos, dance moves and the rest!
Single handedly.... maybe for women.. but the rest of the world had Michael Jackson and Prince..better in every department.
@@garryfernandez6483 lol
Exactly ❤️❤️❤️
Cannot disagree
Madonna, still in love with that woman ❤ 🌹
"I'm WAITING..."
Madonna mid-80s = Queen of the Planet.
