I just hate to hear all the bs about it. It’s more the dread of having to listen to a bunch of people who assume they know what FFS is and does but have never used it. The truth it “true fishing is false fishing. 50% of what we thought we learned is just flat wrong.
#100percentwatchsquad I have about 40 spinnerbaits with boogered up wires from trying to change the inner blade, lol! But for me, May is when the bass are about fully set up in their summer pattern here in South Mississippi, so now is when I like a big football jig or a medium diving crank or squarebill. And of course, a lot of worms rigged a lot of ways!
Yeah down that way I would say so. Up here it’s the transition from spring to summer. Plus you get the shad spawn and the gills that are coming up here

May can sometimes be a tough month for me. That transition as they move from shallow to deep can leave me stumped finding them at times. That said, if there's a shad spawn, I love it. Add a fluke into the mix along with topwater and spinnerbaits.

I get more bites by fire ants than anything in may. They ate me up on 3 separate occasions yesterday because I was standing in their beds in high grass. All this rain in Texas has them on top of the ground defending their colony. I spend a fortune fighting them on my 8 acres.

Here in western Washington we had an unseasonably warm winter and spring. The bass are already getting into summer mode. It’s been a super weird year and all the fish seem to be confused lol

It was 94 degrees in Florida yesterday we are further along past the spawn than where your at I think, I am catching them on a green pumpkin red flake crawdad and A green chatter bait.

Ive started messing with a wacky rigged Strike King Shimmy Stick with a tiny brass finishing nail/tack, one with a tiny head, placed in the head of the worm like a neko rig. It makes the bait glide downward at an angle and it drives them nuts.
