We talk about every bait that caught bass consistently in 2022. best bass baits of 2022. 2022 best bass lures. Best lures of 2022. Lure Buyers guide 2022.
#Bestbasslures #bestlures #bestbaits #2022buyersguide #buyersguide #bassgeek #bassfishing #bassgeek #fishing #fishingvideo
Spinner bait, swim jig, craw style bait. Various trailers on the first two and various craws also everything from bandito bugs to z craws to un-named local goodies. All in all it's been a great year fishing. Broke several personal records and goals and set several more that I'm eager to achieve next year. May God bless us all in the next year.
Heck yeah man keep after it!
Was planning to post this exact thing on my instagram page in a few weeks. Mine this year was:
1. Jig (casting or skipping jig) with some sort of craw trailer
2. Chatterbait
3. Curly tail worm
I also had a lot of luck drop shotting a KVD dream shot and a 10000 fish shimmer shad(especially in the fall).
Will include more lures and more details(exact brands/colors) on my Instagram posts.
It’s dream shot is my favorite drop shot bait
Great video. Have to agree with you on top water this year. Spook and whopper plopper got the most action for me. 2nd was a Texas rig with a tequila sunrise worm. 3rd would be an underspin. #100%watchsquad
The ole tequila sunrise! That’s a great color
Great video. This year for me was topwater dominated. Whopper plopper / buzzbait produced up until 3 weeks ago. Next is zoom super fluke in any shade of white or grey. And last was spinnerbait in green back shad or bluegill. I had high sun blue bird skies and not even whisper of wind and the whopper plopper worked. Such an odd year. Occasionally a NED would work. Other than that wacky or weightless worms I couldn’t buy a bite.
That’s awesome on the whopper plopped! Great stuff!
Great vid Hank my best has been the dropshot and I ain't mad at it still learning 👍 and speaking of still learning there are way better things to beat off than paint brother 👍 and as always YOU ROCK 🤘✌️🎣💙
Hahahahahaha Yup!
Top 3 lure categories: Z-Man Chatterbait in all varieties: (Crosseyez, Freedom, Freedom CFL, and Jackhammer). Jimmy Houston Spinnerbaits, and Berkley Choppo produced all year. In past years Berkley Power worm and jigs. I didn't use any jigs or plastics this year.
All good selections.
One of the treble hooks is bent outwards on your spook. So I know you caught a bunch on those lures 😁 Thanks for sharing your favorites this year.
Hahahaha yup! Gotta replace that
The Ramsey’s swimbaits were my go to’s this year. You got me started using those and always pick it up first. Thank you! Been a great fish producer for me along we the Ledgeheads.
The can’t be beat combo right there
Hey Hank, great baits all around! You covered that perfectly man. For me this yr it was war eagle double willow blade spinner bait, strike king lipless& squarebill cranks & the yum dinger. In watermelon red flake. #100percentwatchsquad👊
Great baits love the finger and the war eagle
#100percentwatchsquad baby!!!
I had a great year on the water this year; from the bank and from the Bass Buggy! Smithwick Rattlin' Rougue was money all year long. For fishing steeper banks and some shallower underwater structure like humps and saddles, that Berkley Squarebull caught more fish than any other squarebill I threw. And I agree totally about the Bitsy Bug. I took the skirt off and wacky rigged a worm and just smacked 'em around timber. But the good ol' Texas rigged worm had to be by #1 performer this year. If I give you a Texas rigged worm and nothing else, I bet you'll still catch a fish on every fishery in the country, at any time of year, in darn near any condition.
I agree 100 on the trig it’s been a killer for me this year
Always great to see you upload, wish I lived closer for the Monday night live shows!
Me too I would love to see ya out there
Top 3 consistent baits were a buzzbait with a pit boss trailer, drop shot with various plastics, and a small swimbait. Great video Hank. Thanks man. ✌🏻🎣😎. #100percentwatchsquad
Thank ya and great info!
I have never used drop shot but will be in 2023.
Jerk bait (lucky craft pointer sp in clear minnow or pearl threadfin), rapala shadow rap shad deep (sliver/black or silver/green), rage tail cutter worm (green pumpkin), missile d bomb (Texas style with bead in green pumpkin)... Honorable mention: shakey head (missle warlock head with kvd finesse worm in magic crawler).
Man I don’t think there’s a bait in that list I don’t love
My most productive baits this year. Green Pumpkin Magic 10.5 Ol Monster, Biospawn Exoswim Pro Blue Red Pearl, and a Livingston Howeller Chartreuse Purple Back
Nice group!
Lot of baits I tried this year after watching your channel. (and caught fish). Need more time and $$ so I can try more! Great video!
Hahahabhey thank you so much
Id have to say the hybrid hunter was the best producing but like you I have caught a bunch on the gun fish, also just past couple months the ole ledge head has done good too. Keep em coming #100%watchsquad
It’s Ledgehead season
100% watcher bro! Your always bringing the juice, thank you sir.
Thank ya ver much
Loved the video Hank! First the rod and reel combos and now the baits video. So......when is the secret fishing spot video coming out? Lol. You Rock Hank and thanks for all you do to help us out with tips and info. #100%watchsquad
LOL I don't know about that.
Underspin with keitech or a biospawn swim bait has been good to me, the shakeyhead with a 6 sense worm in gill dust and I always throw a jig off some sort!
But I had one heck of a day on a jackhammer recently!
Heck yeah man!
Man, we had a real similar year, good ol keitech comes through year after year without fail, for yearly list though, Ripstop from rapala was my bait of the year, the strike king tour grade gold shiner spinner crushed it all year too, walking baits did me real well this year though also, it didn't seem to matter which one so long as she took a long walk
I just have never had much luck on the rip stops
Awesome video my best bait last year was a 1/2 oz spinnerbait a 1/2 oz chatterbaits the jackhammer and a jerkbait strike king and the new one from Berkleyand my favorite one from Rapala
Nice line up.
Sexy Dawg , Yum Dinger , Crosseye Chatterbait were the most consistent fish catchers all season . Strike King 1.5 Squarebill and the 6th Sense jerkbait were close behind
That's a good group right there.
@@BassGeek it all depends on the body of water I’m fishing. Best thing about my area is we’ve got everything from gin clear super deep to shallow weed choked swamps. Favorite bait depends on the body of water
man you doing good appreciate your work that bitsy jig is good and cheap. 100 % try.
Yes sir love the jig and cost
My two most consistent baits this year have been the chatterbait mini max and the big bite baits baby b2 worm
Yeah I like that worm
#100percentwatchsquad
Awesome selection. I already have the Scottsboro/Yum in the pro blue. I’m thinking the bigger spinnerbait is the next purchase.
I ain’t never beat off any of the paint on a lure but the video has to be a killer
Hahaha thanks and that spinner bait I’ve kept it secret for a lot of years
Great list of baits right there. I have not fished much trying to work on the house, but next year watchout...LOL #100percentwatchsquad
I know how that goes good luck next season
As always the info and you. ROCK!
As always YOU ROCK!
I'm going to pick up one of the hoodies sometime soon. In bright red.
I’m not sure If I have one in red.
This season it was the D&L 3/16 cumberland craw jig, Zoom trick worm Green pumpkin green and June bug, Buckeye baits shakeyhead jig 1/8oz with Berkley hit worm green pumpkin. Tournament winnings this year 3200.00
Heck yeah man way to go!
Gotta get you a coke bottle ring that is under the cap and slide it over your rod and down on to your A rig and squeeze it together. Makes storage a lot easier.
Yeah I’ve seen that and another trick I need to ise
Love your videos, keep them coming
Thank ya very much
Love these videos , I kept a log of all the fish I caught this year , the baits , areas, weather and water conditions , at the end of the year I'm going to break it down to see what my go to baits were , until then I'm going to go by memory , probably most of my fish came on a texas rigged big bite baits fighting frog in the tilapia magic color, second would be a jerkbait , I use a lot of different colors depending on weather conditions and water clarity but the biggest producer was the vision 110 jr in matte shad , by the end of the year I'm sure the jerkbait will have caught the most of my fish , 3rd was a chatterbait, the jackhammer stealth blade was on fire , although topwater didn't produce like it did the year before I caught some good ones on the lucky craft gunfish 115 in bluegill and the evergreen shower blows 105 in bone or black
Heck yeah sounds like you have had a great year
@@BassGeek location location location, living in middle Tennessee has done wonders for my bass game
Loved this video, good information!
Thank ya
Hey bass geek I know about he third eye dojo Ned and I love it I bought a lot at the Knoxville expo when I went and my partner didn’t know about it and I showed him and he orderd a lot of them and I showed him your video on them
Man I love that thing!
@@BassGeek yeah his dad was jealous of it
Do you have any advice/ tips on how to be the most efficient while night fishing? I’ve got a pretty busy life with 3 kids, pets, work, etc. I usually fish early morning starting around 4 Am. I would love to know how to attack those couple of hours where it is technically night still. I’ve caught some on a Spinnerbait, chatterbait, but I am always ready to learn more about this season.
My top 3 are ned finesse trd, whopper plopper 110, vision 110 Jr.
Great group of baits
Great info as always ! #100%watchsquad 💯
Thank you! You rock #100
Top 3 for me up north for smallmouth
Ned rig zman hula stick
Rapala x-rap
Swimbait rage swimmer and largo shad
Heck yeah the x-rap is so underrated
Saw your vid on using braid as a backing.
Q: If your using floro as a leader. How long should/can it be?
Novice - re-rigging/tying several of my baitcasters. Mono from reel for grip, to braid backing, to floro leader.
Keep up the great vid. Hope you like your new boat.
Fishin in Ar sucks. Later
Now I will say when using a baitcaster I never let the braid cast out. Pitching is a different story. But when casting I ONLY use braid as backing. So I’ll put 2 casts worth of FL on. Now spinning gear is different. I never let the leader get lower than 8ft. And most the time I keep it at 15ft
My go to are frogs by far anywhere anytime any day hands down
Nice frog bites are killer
Top five! Here we go bass geeks!
1. Zman The GOAT (TOP WATER RIGGED, buzzbait trailer, weedless 5/0 hook)
2. Zman Pink floating worm (weedless, whacky)
3. Megabass swim jig with Googan squad Bandito bug black and blue trailer.
4. Huddleston 68 (trout slow sink)
5. Lunker City Fin-S Shad 4" Pimp Daddy ( whacky rig, umbrella, 1/4 oz lead head, zibiki rig, weedless)
#100percentwatchsquad
You got some of my fav’s on that list
Morning dawn robo worm on a dropshot Berkeley Stunna in northern lights & z man Streakz smokey shad on a dropshot You Rock Hank!
Man drop shots are my weak point
@@BassGeek & everything but the dropshot & jerkbait are my kryptonite! Lol
Great video buddy #100%watch squad
Thank ya sir
1. Texas rig
2. Grub on jighead
3. Baby bass spook
4. Football jig
5. Squarebill
Killer selection.
1. Shakey head 2. Jig 3. Crank #100percentwatchsquad #tacklewarehouselinkclicker 💪🎣
Thanks and THANKS!!!! lol for all that support.
Love your Channel
Thank you very much!
This has nothing to do with the video or fishing, but I thought I'd ask you since you work in the field. I'm looking to start a career in IT. Not exactly sure what part of IT, but I was wondering if you went to college for it, or did you get certain certifications? How did you get started? I understand if you want to keep it personal. I'm trying to get the A+, security+, and networking+ certs hoping it will help me land a entry level position. Just wondering what you did to get started. When I heard you worked in IT it was very inspiring and was part of the reason why I started to look into what I needed to do to work in the field
I did go to college but just a small local community college. IT is a great field that I’m trying my best to get out of and just fish for a living 😂. However you really need to explore the different fields and TH-cam is great for that. I am a network guy and the certain your talking about are a great entry but if you plan on getting into networking the ccna is going to help better than anything.
Hank, great information! #100percentwatchsquad
Thank you #100percentwatchsquad
Great videos
Thank ya
My lucky baits where the redeye shad- squarebill 1.5 n war eagle spinnerbait
Theme some good’uns
big jig and chatterbait fan they are my go to confidence baits, I have a hard time when the water gets colder due to the fact that I a hard time slowing down especially with whacky and ned rigs, any tips on whacky and ned rigs so that i am not bored out of my mind lol here in California.
Yeah fish a 2.8 keitech lol. Honestly however use the ketech to locate fish. Low and slow then pick up the wacky and Ned to clean up
@@BassGeek good tip appreciate ya 👍
I caught my pb this year on a black and purple worm shakey head style. I had good luck with a green pumpkin Ned worm and a dt6 crank bait in a sunfish color pattern. #100percentwatchsquad
Great bait and color that DT6

I guess a crankbait didn't work this year. LoL. Could list your top 2 or 3 cranks please ..maybe your just one those guys that just don't use crankbaits
The crank bit was hit or miss and I fished more ultra clear water than in past years. So I’ll give ya my fav’s for winter. Rapala shad rap. It’s old school but it just works. The rapala DT series no matter the depth it’s a fish catching machine. The Spro rock crawler. Do just that crawl it across those rocks. Bonus the flat side cranks like the Spro Little John’s
Top water here in northeast PA was non existent this year ! Actually the last few ! Lakes that you could get a limmit on quick ! Now they wont hit it ! I'm talking numerous lakes ! Dont get it ??
That stinks. No top water makes me sad
Megabass flap slap. You have to burn it back. No slow retrieves
I love those things.
#💯watchsquad really appreciate you Hank you Rock.
Thank ya Mile and so really appreciate you sir
How often do you fish Norris lake?
Spring and winter some not as much as I would like
15 minutes into the video I’ve gone bankrupt 😊
Hahahaa sorry
#100%watchclub
O heck yeah #100
