I caught one yesterday from the bank on Philpott Lake Virginia, Steep deep lake , caught that bass on a neko rig in 2 foot of water. 1/16 nail zman hogz 3"
Another tip is to take the treble hooks off the blade bait and put a 1/0 octopus hook on it and fish around wood and bump it off bottom. Keeps from getting hung as much and they don't sling it as much
Im like you Hank i love my jerk baits. I also use spinner baits, jigs, underspins and still a little top water. And yes they do still hit top water this time of year lol. Thats my top 5. Keep sending the great video's you rock brother 🎣🔥 #100percentwatchsquad
I noticed you talked about a lot of baits but only a handful of them were favorites. I'll be here waiting for what is in store for spring. #100percentwatchsquad
#100percentwatchsquad I love a Smithwick Rattlin' Rogue. Great floating jerkbait. I've caught way more fish than I can count using them. I also have a few of the Perfect 10 deep diving jerkbaits that have gotten me some big bites from those deep girls.
Question: While fishing I usually see trees off the bank providing shade over the water. Are my chances better by casting in the shaded areas or areas where the sun is hitting the water?
Depends on the water temp and time of year. This time of year I like sun a lot. At times the big bass will sun by suspending up. I fish a lot of Northwestern banks that get the most sun. Especially if they have rock, docks, or wood
@@BassGeek Gotcha. Yeah don’t mind me and my questions. I started fishing as a kid but never had any luck. Picked up a rod now at 44 years old and in October 2023 I caught my first fish and have caught more fish each and every month since. I’m learning a lot still so that’s the momentum behind the questions. Here in Kentucky the weather is fluctuating and I believe it’s Spring and Winter playing that old tug of war game until the following season takes over. Right now we are averaging 40 to 60 degrees but what I don’t know is what temperature that would place the water at with and without sun. Having said that I appreciate any question that you answer. Thanks man.
That Destroyer spinhead/swimbait combo on the thumbnail looks like fire. I'm going to try that out this spring. Trying my best to be in the #100percentwatchclub! As always, great video, Hank!
Man, I wish I could get the fish around me to bite something other than a drop shot😂😂 Don't get me wrong, I like catchin em, and I've caught a bunch, but I would really like to experiment with some of this stuff lol
Hey Bass Geek great video once again! One a side note I GOT AN AMAZING NEW VIDEO IDEA FOR YOU , that I know your viewers and myself would love to see!! If anyone can present and explain how the ‘Sankaku T San’ rig works, it will be you! This one is right up your alley and would love to get your take on this crazy & seriously wacky looking Japanese stickish bait? Sankaku T San? What are you? Tell us Bass Geek, tell ussss!!!
Not really true. Open you mind. Most baits that are used via ffs have been used without it for years. Don’t let the BS close your mind on good baits and techniques
A grub is a terrible choice, it stinks and wont catch anything, so stop telling people it will. Please stop, it won't catch them 😉 not a good bait at all. I'll throw them so you dont have to😂😂
Great video Hank and Mike, excellent information, catch'um up.
Thanks brother

@@BassGeek warmer front with rain is coming Sunday I suspect Friday and Saturday will be decent for February.

Hank, please give your best advice for water that has depths from 2' to 200'
Man that’s not a simple question. If your used to fishing shallower lakes stop thinking about fish movement horizontally and mor vertically

I know when you get the flash mob jr kit that’s what comes with it is grubs
Yup some do.
Unfortunately I bank fish. So any ffs lures aren't an option on my end.
