I was a kid when these first came out. My dad brought home two of them. One auto and one with a clutch. Had some of the best times of my life with them.
a trick i have done before is have a running bike with the back tire up off the ground butted up to the back bike tire you want to try to start. get the running bike to turn the other tire and boom it works. also have done it with a front wheel drive car with one wheel off the ground....you dont get nowhere near as tired as you do pushing one..lol
I had a mid 70-s Honda Seventy. After about 40,000 miles (Approx) My family worked in the woods so we wore out several of these Bikes. they were fun to ride, and easy to repair. Have fun!
upside downdog they are pretty cool. . Very, very retro looking. They are kind of pretty in that , "so strange that it's cute way" . . But I definitely like them . PEACE, Eric the Eturn
Stephen Butler I am pretty sure the Chinese do but I want a Japanese built Honda. I am funny like that, my Japanese built Nissan pickup is better than the US built Renault owned newer ones by far.
upside downdog my BiL had a Nissan pick up. It was one of the ones that got bought back from Nissan, cos the chassis was eating itself and snapping in half under light load. Hence to say, it put him and me off Nissan.
I live north of Houston 50 miles. When it rarely snows here we have large snow flakes like that I've seen them even larger than that.....about the size of a silver dollar! .
Kurt Young I live in New England. As of right now, we're getting hammered with almost a foot of heavy, wet snow.. For lack of a better phrase,It sucks.. lol
I have real soft spot for these bikes, I learned how to ride on one of these back around 1977 when I was 13. Good times, I lived in the country and all of us kids had dirt bikes from little 70's like this right up the CR 125 's
Me too ! I put a LS2 out of a 2007 Corvette with a turbo into my nifty Nash Metropolitan convertible with a Continental kit spare tire on the back bumper, it's tubbed out and has wheelie bars and steering brakes like a sand rail ! I like to race AC Cobra 427's and teach them a lesson!
I like the vintage bikes n cars, they got personality to them ya know,.. NEw vehicles are nice and all but ridiculously priced. $58k for new GMC xcab??? I'm not paying that much. Just as well build an old c-10, or whatever I want. My point being the ole classics I prefer..
For sure, and yeah the prices of current vehicles are insane... The thing you get with the new ones though is the creature comforts and sleek updated interior
As you guys said "We're going to go get a flywheel puller and hope it works," I thought "It helps to have the proper tools!" ..... and then 30 seconds later you guys said it haha. Going through the same thing with a '79 Kawasaki KE100.
I've always done up old peds. Dad taught me a cool trick for removing the rust. Get citric acid and soak the parts overnight. Sometimes best with a sacrificial annode in the dip tank
Ike, keep that "rat rod" look maybe treating the rust with Ospho then clear-coating with a satin finish. I like "Tina", short for patina? Perfect rat-rod name!
you know, I have no idea about anything mechanical at all, and yet ever since i found this channel a couple years ago i think, i just couldn't stop watching, keep the crazy awesome builds goin guys
I like the idea of restoring one and leaving the other factory but I also think it would be cool to see both of you restore them and see which one comes out better.
By far the funniest thing I could ever done was get on the CT70 realize there was a bunch of stuff where his foot wanted to go and just shoved it out the way like I'm enjoying this moment
I still ( I'm 58 ) have my 1972 Ct70 same color as yours and I also have my original 1970 CT70 in the green, the 72 is an auto/no clutch to shift and the 70 uses a clutch. Planning on swapping the engine out on the 72 with a Lifan 150cc, they bolt right up with no mods, so they say.
That's cool,.. I found an early 70s in papaws barn a week ago. It didn't know that's same as u r working on until I seen that mustard yellow frame. It was my uncles' bikes, decent shape except motor was run dry on oil. He got it with break'in still in?? Run it hot to cease it so papaw would get him a 3-wheeler. I'd have beat his ass for that, but everything else is surprisingly good. My fam has always been into bikes & quads, hell granny had an ol'panhead chopper when she got with papaw,🤭 no kiddin, she was mean mamma'jamma,.. Dad had the Harley dirt'bikes, my number of bikes... Ike the caddy500 for$500 motor only. It's sittin in an old Galaxy 500 for sale also.. Yeah I know Chevy-Chrysler in a Ford?? One of my uncles built it before he was murdered { pussy shot him in the back} anyway the car set in an old barn 30+years. It's not cherry but fixable..
I had one of those and a couple z50's great fun. That 70 would run about 42 mph wide open all day long on a gallon of gas. Street legal and climb any hill the bigger dirt bikes were climbing. The hubs tend to stripout because they're aluminum.
Nice video. Love the ct70. Had one when I was 13, now building one basically from a frame and a box of some misc parts. I bought some used wheel assemblies off ebay. The hubs were great, but the wire lip in the tires rust fused to the rims. Lucky your rims came off the tires 😊
You guys should soak your parts in a bucket of Chemtool for about an hour then take them out and rinse them off. When you take them out of the Chemtool hit them with a light brush the parts will be so clean. You will see everything come right off.
Crack the door, put a small box fan pointing out lol what I do when it rains. When I had a garage. Now I got a metal barn that's supposed to be a garage but parents have it filled with their crap til their house gets built.
I hear Isaac about those tires... I once saw an ad for "specialty" tires in a motor-enthusiast mag, and when looked at the tread-pattern I said "Hey... This is the same pattern as the Goodyear Viva 3 Wal-Mart sells!".
Those are dope ass tires!! Look like the vintage style chopper tires everyones running me included im running a 21” avon speedmaster up front and shinko e240 classic
The OEM puller for that was a bar that threaded into the flywheel and had a stop inside. So when you tightened the bar it would screw into the flywheel and press against the end of the crank backing off the flywheel. Also I am surprised you didnt ask honda dealer to search for the tires and rims.
I’ve noticed that the 73 (k2) generation of the CT70 is really really rare to see. I used to have a light blue 1973 ct 70 three speed with an automatic clutch and loved the thing to death! Until my dad decided to strip the bolt that held the woodruff key between it and the flywheel and destroyed the engine.
Hey Ike, john I made my own racing mower but mine is a 18hp twin cylinder briggs its fast 6 speed but after a month i blew up the transaxle today you guys made it look fun so I had to do it
I like the trail 70 too in fact if I can find a blue one in restorable or descent shape I'm buying! Been wanting for awhile but after watching your vids I'm getting sooner than later! lol my 08 klr650 has the same type setup on the rear sprocket also so that shows how well engineered the Hondas were in the 70s!
Do I smell some rivalry between u guys? Now when u both have a Trail 70? ;D Cheers guys, you're amazing! Love what you are doing and how you are doing it :D
A tip you guys may know already I like to use a heat gun to warm up an engine thats cold to help it start easier. I would love to get one of those old Honda's but to expensive. Some day maybe Ill run into a good deal and buy one. .
This is awesome. Finally instead of saying. LOOK AT MY 3,000,000 MILLION DOLLAR LAMBORGHINI. Look at my more affordable more reliable more cost-effective car/truck.
I used to loose footage all the time on my gopro. I looked into it and something about the sd card becoming corrupt... anyway put it a freshy and it stopped losing footage.
I would be lucky for finding such a bike... we here in germany are lucky if we pay roundabout $1500 for an old but complete "ST 50 Dax" (german version of the Trail 70) and much more for rare exemplares like the ST 70 "White Dax", which are priced around $2500! So, what lucky guys you are in comparison to us ;) but as i always say: "if it is a hobby, it costs much of precious money!"
Hey Ike and John yall might want to be careful push starting your ct70s you could blow the transmission. I have a Baja 90 atv that was swapped to a 140cc full manual and I blew the transmission up in it from push starting.
I love Ike's idea of John's bike being restored and just cleaning his up and making it a survivor bike. Very cool idea.
I was a kid when these first came out. My dad brought home two of them. One auto and one with a clutch. Had some of the best times of my life with them.
wish you had home videos of those bikes new back in the day got to be better than watching the monkeys intro
The CT70 boys are gonna ride!
They're multiplying!
CarsandCameras 46th!
CarsandCameras u guys are the best hope we can meet
You guys should come ride the tail of the dragon at the Smokey mountain crawl June 8-10. It’s a small bore ride!!
Kill it before t
It lays eggs!
No offense John but i like Ike's better.
They always look better as a survivor, the looks tell the story👍
a trick i have done before is have a running bike with the back tire up off the ground butted up to the back bike tire you want to try to start. get the running bike to turn the other tire and boom it works. also have done it with a front wheel drive car with one wheel off the ground....you dont get nowhere near as tired as you do pushing one..lol
as long as its a real skinny girl on back your all set,
l have a ct70 that makes the green one look good,
Mustie1 I love all your vids
You the man mustie
Mustie1
Holy shiz... It's mustie1!!!
i have a 70 too
it s really good bike
MUSTIE MUSTIE MUSTIE!!!
I had a mid 70-s Honda Seventy. After about 40,000 miles (Approx) My family worked in the woods so we wore out several of these Bikes. they were fun to ride, and easy to repair. Have fun!
Those are cool. I wish Honda still made that line.
upside downdog they are pretty cool. . Very, very retro looking. They are kind of pretty in that , "so strange that it's cute way" . . But I definitely like them . PEACE, Eric the Eturn
I'm sure some Indian company are still building these under (some loose) licence.
Stephen Butler

I drive my '84 daily. 350k miles +. It has a full box frame, Hardbodies didn't.
I live north of Houston 50 miles. When it rarely snows here we have large snow flakes like that I've seen them even larger than that.....about the size of a silver dollar!

me and my buddy are putting a 3 hp Briggs and straton engine on a pedal bike. and you guys inspire us every step of the way
alex wood sweet
When i read the title i was humbled to see another barn find ! keep it up yall
D MTB I think Isaac knows every motor head in a 25 radius, I think. That helps with the barn finds!
I like the vintage bikes n cars, they got personality to them ya know,..
NEw vehicles are nice and all but ridiculously priced. $58k for new GMC xcab??? I'm not paying that much. Just as well build an old c-10, or whatever I want. My point being the ole classics I prefer..
BlkiceMike Exactly!!
For sure, and yeah the prices of current vehicles are insane... The thing you get with the new ones though is the creature comforts and sleek updated interior
Barns find them
That garage space is getting packed!
I had one of those over 45 years ago! Great little trail machine.
Great show guys! Just polish them up and ride them, so much fun those bikes.
FallenDj122 That’s the best comment of the day!!! ❤️
FallenDj122 thanks for watching
Awesome video! We just got a 76 CT70 barn find for $400 bucks! Cleaned the tank and it fired up after a few kicks!!
The green frame has a sweet colored patina
yea it does, I love green, an that color scratches that itch lol
Leave them both as survivors! Love the show. Shame on you for leaving the rail out 😂
Ike do a full resto on yours to make them both absolutely perfect then take a cruise to the beach would be epic!
When you mounted that headlight assembly that bike took some life !!!!
Christopher sanchez it looks way better. Lol
I like the idea of restoring one and leaving the other factory but I also think it would be cool to see both of you restore them and see which one comes out better.
I like the resto and survivor idea
That beach trip sounds epic.
By far the funniest thing I could ever done was get on the CT70 realize there was a bunch of stuff where his foot wanted to go and just shoved it out the way like I'm enjoying this moment
These are the modern day Grom... sorta haha. Awesome video! love the series
Just saw two of these in Raleigh Craigslist. Pretty tempted to pick them up.
Ike, we all know you like that patina, keep it that way buddy. 👌
Hey just a little information about the ct70's only changed colors through the years the 69 model is gold and the 77 is orange
Awesome find.
Hey guys! Do roadtrip whit this two!
I love all the chevy I see on your videos
I HATE BEES!!! I would have jumped farther than Ike did lol
Cool bikes.
cant wait to see the finished bike! You have to do the road trip
I'm with Ike on the restore and survivor combo.
I agree with Ike’s idea for the bikes, but I think you guys should also do some light modding on them (mostly for convenience).
These are your channels best videos. U guys just hanging out doing what you like without all the go power sport crap. Oh and ct70s are awesome too
I wish you guys did more videos!
That's cool,.. I found an early 70s in papaws barn a week ago. It didn't know that's same as u r working on until I seen that mustard yellow frame. Love your vids. 2 problems with them. We need more. They need to be longer. That will be fine :)
I like the survivor bike and restored bike idea
I had one of those and a couple z50's great fun. That 70 would run about 42 mph wide open all day long on a gallon of gas. Street legal and climb any hill the bigger dirt bikes were climbing. The hubs tend to stripout because they're aluminum.

if the ones mean green the other one has to be mellow yellow
Joe yes
They call me Mellow Yellow!!
Haha that’s perfect Joe
Very cool that Ike was able to find one of the 70s so quick. And for a decent deal. . Keep it up. Peace, Eric the Eturn
You guys should soak your parts in a bucket of Chemtool for about an hour then take them out and rinse them off.
When you take them out of the Chemtool hit them with a light brush the parts will be so clean.

Nice to see another video

I think you guys should do a restored one and a CaC beast creation one...suicide shifter white walls mini ape hangers...like a old school "chopper"
I learned to ride on one these. It was a red one early 70's year model. I think they called it candy red.
I think you should both restore them , don't let Ike take the easy CHEAP way out :P
U meet the nicest guys on a Honda
Valve adjustment on these things is critical set to specs and be amazed at how much better they start
Those are dope ass tires!! Look like the vintage style chopper tires everyones running me included im running a 21” avon speedmaster up front and shinko e240 classic
SlammedHemi Love the vintage look myself. Looks friggin great

I love watching your channel I have several builds and it's great to see like minded projects keep it up
You need a cabinet sand blaster. So damn handy to have. Cool video.
Ok now i want one to go along with my qa50
Just found your channel and ive been inspired to start building go karts and mini bikes! Thank you guys
That green frame would have been cool to use
Hey Ike, john I made my own racing mower but mine is a 18hp twin cylinder briggs its fast 6 speed but after a month i blew up the transaxle today you guys made it look fun so I had to do it
It seems more and more people are finding those things and fixing them up. I had a red one when I was a kid and traded it for a moped.
I have wanted one of these since I saw the roadkill episode about them, I am so jealous.
u guys should get one of those fans built in the wall that pull in fresh air and push the fumes out that way yall can paint inside your shop
Emenar Garage doubt his dad wants to encourage spraying near his cars
Dude that in looking forward to that beach vlog
I like the trail 70 too in fact if I can find a blue one in restorable or descent shape I'm buying! Red Beard’s Garage vs. Cars and Cameras build-off!!!!!
Meanwhile... Chrisfix just picked up his own Honda for 300$. A Del Sol to be exact
Liam Watts yesssssss
This is awesome. Finally instead of saying. LOOK AT MY 3,000,000 MILLION DOLLAR LAMBORGHINI. Look at my more affordable more reliable more cost-effective car/truck.
Come to Wilmington! I'll take you guys out on the beach in my Jeep.
So glad your doing motorcycle stuff, even if they're miniature lol the old honda scooters are cool too, try to get some of those
You got your dragster sitting out in the rain really
I love those Trail 70. Ike got the better deal.
I had a Mini Trail 50 eons ago. I would love to have one of these.
I used to loose footage all the time on my gopro. I looked into it and something about the sd card becoming corrupt... anyway put it a freshy and it stopped losing footage.
yep

Keep the bike the way it is looks cool grate find ike
Take the exhaust of the yellow trail 70 and put il on the blue one to stay authentic !! 😃
I'd say restore them both "carsandcameras" style
Awesome honda content 🖒 cant wait to see more
I think Ike should restore his too.
Do mini bike Monday
Bring back ikes adventures please
John sounds like my grandma... "Oh dear"
I had one just like Ike's 👍💯 . Just in white.
I like that Ike is leaving his CT70 vintage.
Hey Ike and John yall might want to be careful push starting your ct70s you could blow the transmission. I have a Baja 90 atv that was swapped to a 140cc full manual and I blew the transmission up in it from push starting.
Y'all have 2 now..?
Are you sure you didn't just forget to hit the record button? lol I have done that a few times myself...
That does happen occasionally
It is easier to blame someone else.
Haha ike called you out. You cant lie to us John!
