So I went to the 1st annual Seoul Mechanical Keyboard Expo... and it was an amazing experience! The turnout was crazy, with about 4,000 people that attended, and got to meet lots of other creators, vendors and fans alike! Best of all, I got to meet the legend himself... Taeha! And we asked about Glarses lol.

It was super fun! Never went to a keyboard meet at this scale and the community, vendors, fans and other creators were so welcoming! I wish we can see some of the Korea exclusive brands make it to our shores!

Philippines hosted keyboards convention 2 years in a row now, You should try to check it out next time. they had a lot of fun activities in there too you it was a great experience having a big keyboard convention in the country

I would love to see an independent vendor / exhibitor showing off a really wide range of switches so you could get hands-on with more than you'd ever get a chance to in a switch tester, or relying on TH-cam videos for the feel / sound.
Surprisingly not a lot of switch manufacturers came other than Cherry. Hope next year we start seeing some component people come too
Wish to visit some of these expo one time.

Hi Scott! I don’t know if you take requests for video ideas, but I had a question that you might be able to answer even in just a comment.
I built my end game keyboard a while ago and opted to have it on my table with no desk mat. It sounded good for a while but then I kept experimenting with it, having its metal body resting on the edge of my mouse mat with its rubber feet not contacting the table.
Then I tried resting the entire thing half off the table and it sounded even better.
When I rest my keyboard against my legs, it sounds the best. Marbly, deep, thocky.
My thought is that the rubber feet dampen the vibration of the keystrokes, but if that were true, then wouldn’t a pillow or even folded fabric on the same table yield the same results? I haven’t been able to replicate the same sound profile with any combination of fabrics and materials ON my table, but was able to get the deepest sound on my thighs. Why and how can I replicate this on my wooden table? Thank you in advance and great video :)

Did you manage to touch the new enamel coating? From the looks of it, they seem to be very very smooth. But what I'm wondering is, do they still retain the cold metallic touch?
It was very very smooth. They said it was very difficult because they can't apply it thick. I remember it still feeling cold

The one on the left? Isn't that the G80-9009? Unique keyboard with a nice color way. This keyboard is the basis of GMK 9009 keysets.
The lack of 1800 / 96% makes me sad. Seriously why are there so many TKL's, but no 96? they're basically the same size!

a 1.5k keyboard? seriously, I don't see the why in any keyboards that costs above $300.
you gotta have margins to pay people for:
- the time taken to design the product
- the materials used to fabricate the product
- the novelty of the product; if there's a very short production run of a board, you gotta make profit somehow
