    • @mehname8597

      People can donate if they want , it's completely their choice , the money saved those animals lives (= I think donating to farm sanctuaries is so important , farm sanctuaries like gentle barn and SASHA sanctuary are non profit organizations that rescue animals from slaughter. If we did not have any ,these animals would not have homes. It warms my heart hearing stories where animals are rescued from slaughter , even just one animal being saved from a brutal death is a victory. Some of these sanctuaries take in over 200 animals out of the goodness of their heart and when they are full it is harder to rescue even more animals. That is why I think they should make a little money , maybe allow people to visit the animals at their farm for a small donation? If a vegan restaurant was opened on a sanctuary or a gift shop that would also make sense! I know they don't want to profit from their animals but the money could be used strictly to keep the animals fed and housed (=

    • @yayad1nonly
      @yayad1nonly 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      MEH NAME yeah absolutely, I meant no disrespect but with sanctuaries, non-profit and funds; its just more trustworthy and more people would donate if there was a clearer explanation of how the money was being put to use. Maybe they don't get many donations and yes a small service or product would make a difference to get more support. It's just that some Texas land owners are well off and some aren't and there's always people that don't have much but still donate, so l just hope nobody is getting duped.

    • @deborahi7700
      @deborahi7700 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The point is these people "saved these animals from slaughter" from themselves?!? Gentle Barn and SASHA don't threaten to send their animals to slaughter if people don't pay up. As for making money for themselves, rather than relying strictly on donations, these people did a fundraiser saying they were going to do just that. They raised over $3,000 to start a sustainable veganic farm. They had big plans and they were going to take their produce to market and sell it. Only problem is, it never happened.

    • @deborahi7700
      @deborahi7700 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Speaking of people feeling duped....how do you think people felt who donated to this "sanctuary" two years ago after being told there would be no further breeding of the cows? Countless cows have been born since then. Those people could feel duped. Rowdy Girl raised approximately $13,000 to "save Oatmeal the blind steer from slaughter". She didn't rescue him. Those people could feel duped. You are right to ask questions. These types of videos are cute but the reality behind them is equally important.

  • @deborahi7700
    @deborahi7700 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Renee makes sure their feeding is done just right? Honey Buzzers, generic Cheerios, are not "just right" for goats! Her husband says his grandfather always "kept a few cows around". Renee told everyone he is a 4th generation cattle rancher. Which one is it? She's also told many different stories about how she got Rowdy Girl, her "first calf". She's said her husband gave her to him, she said she bought him from her husband, she's said she bought him from a neighbor. Even in this video, it's not quite clear. As it turns out Rowdy Girl wasn't even her first calf. If you go back on her facebook page, she had a calf before Rowdy Girl. Speaking of babies, why are there so many calves in the video? Legitimate sanctuaries don't allow their animals to breed! You gotta love the fake tears and drama, though! She raised $35,000 to buy her husband's 28 cows. No one sees anything wrong with that story? Rancher's wife? He worked at Dow Chemical. Why don't they say Dow Chemical worker's wife? The inconsistencies are everywhere!

      I know. There are a lot of respectable farmers out there. Personally, I’m not totally opposed to the killing, but I don’t like factory farming, which apparently 99% of farmed animals in the US are in. I get demand’s rising and there’s a lot of people, but factory farming is inherently cruel because it’s about efficiency and profit over the living conditions for those living there.

    • @user-iw4gz7vh4w

      @@photocannon4462 that’s a pretty over sensationalized topic. Livestock spend 98% of their lives on pasture. They’re fed grain the last 60-90 days, most of the time in a feed yard. I’ve seen the whole life cycle of the beef business. It’s definitely vilified by Hollywood and the news media

    • @photocannon4462

      @@user-iw4gz7vh4w Well I’m sure some do, and good for them, but I’m talking about factory farming. Maybe you’ve seen how the beef business works at one place, but what about the rest of the region? Or the world? And what about the other animals? I know there are many out there who work hard and care for the animals while they’re there, my dad grew up on a farm. There’s just also a lot of sketchiness out there and it’s sad we turn to factory farming to meet rising demand.

      @@photocannon4462 Nope

    • @photocannon4462
      @photocannon4462 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@susangeist1372 just because the Bible says we can eat meat doesn’t mean it says we can do what we’re doing to the extent we’re doing it today just so we can eat meat. But the problem with just advocating for animal welfare is that we don’t have the resources to give these animals enough space, because otherwise that’s going to cause even more deforestation. The demand for meat is only growing so how are we going to tackle this issue? Scarcity is when the demand for a good/service is greater than the availability of the good/service. There’s not enough resources to raise these animals in good conditions, that’s one of the reasons why we have intensive farming in the first place. And our population is only getting bigger so their population is getting bigger too (bc it’s unlike a natural predator and prey balance). Chickens are the most populated bird on earth, they even outnumber humans! They didn’t just coincidentally spawn so many out of nowhere, we literally made them. Doesn’t God want us to protect his Earth not destroy it? And I think the question we should all be asking is not what did Jesus do then, but what would Jesus do if he was living on earth today? We shouldn’t ask what would be the right thing to do thousands of years ago, we should be asking what is the right thing to do today. Because like I said before, the conditions since then have changed drastically and when conditions change that much, we’re going to have to change too. I have this feeling that whether we like it or not, even if people don’t start to turn to veganism, we’ll pretty much have to anyway because there won’t be enough resources to keep doing what we’re doing.

      They where not "made to serve man" I they are living beings where thoughts and feelings. If aliens created humans to eat it be the same issue. Animals exist for their own reasons they have a psychological center , they can suffer and they have a will to live, because these beings are so vulnerable we should be protecting them not harming them. Human beings are such pussy as bullies for slaughtering animals so innocent and vulnerable, they do nothing to us and we act like Nazis to them , have we learned nothing from the holocaust ? Will we continue to harm innocent animals for our selfish pleasure ? It's an insult to our sense of morality for us to keep on the cycle of suffering and slaughter.
      We do not need to eat these beautiful creatures we can have compassion and stop breeding them for selfish reasons . Bringing an animal into the world by shoving your hand up their vagina with bull semen and then using them and their baby for a sandwich is wrong you are violating another beings life.
      If we continue raising and breeding animals for food we will continue this harm to animals , our planet and our own health. Cattle ranching is so bad for the planet , we we all ate vegan we would have more land , water and be healthier.
      “As often has Herman had witnessed the slaughter of animals and fish, he always had the same thought: in their behavior toward creatures, all men were Nazis. The smugness with which man could do with other species as he pleased exemplified the most extreme racist theories, the principle that might is right”. - earthlings
      “It is wrong to harm others, and as a matter of consistency we don’t limit who the others are; if they can tell the difference between pain and pleasure, then they have a fundamental right not to be harmed. … Unless you believe in fascism, that might makes right - we do not have a right to harm others.” -Henry (Noah) Spira, animal activist and Holocaust survivor

    • @jtop2038

      I guess that would be an slow-thinking view. According to our Creator, animals were created to serve man's needs. I do not think abuse is a need. But when prepared and cooked right almost all are very yummy.

    • @mehname8597
      @mehname8597 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      +J top Yeah "slow-thinking " you mean enlightened and ethical thinking? Sorry I don't follow that Bible crap your creator doesn't make me want to take the life of other earthlings for selfish reasons . There is not need to violate another life and there is no need to cause such harm to the planet! I'm not religious but no God would want you to abuse his babies , he was to let humans slaughter them he'd make it so they didn't feel pain and have a consciousness. Humans are healthier without meat and if we really did need it I would of thought we would be eating bugs instead of animals so sensitive and intelligent like cattle .
      Meat and dairy is really demanding for resources and what is the logical equation ? Feed animals crops and get a small amount of edible flesh or eat the crops themselves instead of recycling them through an innocent animals body? I don't get that logic , we are talking about a sentient beings life , we are talking about breeding them , farming them , how do we profit from mass production of sentient beings without harming them? And if we don't need to why should we?
      The percentage of all greenhouse gas emissions from all global transportation, planes, trains automobiles is 13 % but the percentage of global greenhouse gas emissions from animal agriculture is 51%
      The number of people starving in the world is 795 million, the number of people we could feed on a vegan diet in the USA alone WITH what we feed livestock we forcibly breed is 800 million!
      Plants not only require less land, take less time to mature, use less water they also pollute less waste !
