      @@faithfultotheend5202 You seem to think that you would have to be brainless to think that way. Some intelligent, widely admired people who chose not to eat meat- Pythagoras, Socrates, Leonardo da Vinci, Voltaire, Newton, Benjamin Franklin, Nikolai Tesla, Albert Einstein, Gandhi, Albert Schweitzer, George Bernard Shaw, Tolstoy, Thoreau, Saint Francis of Asisi, and many more. Some on this list switched late in life, but stayed on it to the end. Ben Franklin switched at age 16.
      "Nothing will benefit human health and increase chances for survival of life on Earth as much as the evolution to a vegetarian diet." -Einstein (Of course today, he would be vegan. So would the others on this list.)
      The famous Professor of Physics Brian Greene is vegan. You may have seen him on PBS hosting science shows for the layman. Jane Goodall recently went from a long time vegetarian to vegan. Greta Thunberg is vegan. Wikipedia has a more complete list.

      @@someguy2135 You can pick and choose what part of my comment you want to respond to, if you want, but my main point was a lack of compromise, instead the husband completely caved to her threats. She shoved it down his throat. He was FORCED. I have nothing against being a vegetarian, I have considered it myself. I very rarely eat red meat but God gave us free will even Adam and Eve were vegetarians at first. My big issue is the lack of compromise. God does not program us to be certain ways. We don't get struck by lightning bolts from the sky when we do something he doesn't like. The life we live is our legacy, the name we make for ourselves now is what we will have when we pass over. And that is what counts with God. And that is what I strongly feel also. God bless.

    • @someguy2135

      @@faithfultotheend5202 Kudos for significantly reducing your purchases of red meat. That helps our environment, and (everything else being equal) reduces the number of innocent sentient animals being bred into existence to suffer and be needlessly killed long before their natural end of life. May I ask why you rarely eat red meat? For me, it was the health concern I had. I later learned all of the other reasons to boycott all animal based foods. Beef and lamb are the most damaging to our environment, and climate change. The huge number of them produce a huge amount of methane, which is 80 times more potent than CO2 in the first 20 years.
      "While the wildfires raging in the Amazon rainforest may constitute an “international crisis,” they are hardly an accident.
      The vast majority of the fires have been set by loggers and ranchers to clear land for cattle. The practice is on the rise, encouraged by Jair Bolsonaro, Brazil’s populist pro-business president, who is backed by the country’s so-called “beef caucus.”
      While this may be business as usual for Brazil’s beef farmers, the rest of the world is looking on in horror.
      So, for those wondering how they could help save the rainforest, known as “the planet’s lungs” for producing about 20% of the world’s oxygen, the answer may be simple. Eat less meat."- CNN
      Another reason they burn the Amazon is to grow soy. "More than three-quarters (77%) of global soy is fed to livestock for meat and dairy production. Most of the rest is used for biofuels, industry or vegetable oils. Just 7% of soy is used directly for human food products such as tofu, soy milk, edamame beans, and tempeh." -Our World in Data

    This woman is proof that sometimes it’s okay to be a “crazy” or “militant” vegan. If she didn’t go to such “extreme” lengths like raising money to buy the cows or lecturing her husband, all these precious individuals wouldn’t be alive today. She saved and continues to save so many souls by not respecting other’s personal choices. Because of her being a “militant vegan,” all these precious beings get to raise their babies and live their lives free from harm. I don’t think that’s something to be condemned.

      There's two important points you left out though:
      1. This study looked at vegans AND vegetarians as one group (which isn't really ideal).
      2. The vegetarian/vegan group had a much lower rate of heart disease, which the study's lead author herself concluded that the benefits of the decreased case of heart disease outweighed the much lesser increased risk of stroke.
      Also worth mentioning, she explicitly stated that much more research needs to be done and that while the study demonstrates correlation, it is not sufficient to prove causality.

      It's no point saving a few hundred cows at the most, when millions are killed every month. We need to curb the demand by stopping advertising like it's done for tobacco.

    I love this gal and her loving husband. Who cared enough to listen and work it out. And he looked genuinely happy and sounded actually relieved. This is an example of a partnership. One that I want desperately. Good on them! I am not vegan. And think there is a need for protein by animal meat. But I also do not believe in corporate animal farming. Even ranches like theirs. Or I should clarify once ranches like theirs. Animals should be gotten by the out dated practices of Hunter gather systems.

    This put a big smile on my face! If a couple of Texas cattle ranchers can go vegan and turn their ranch into a sanctuary, there may be hope for humanity. 😊🙌🌱

    I went from 203 to 185 in 3 months after transitioning into Veganism, just doing running and trekking.
    Joined a gym, got back into strength training, and I’m now 160 with a new bill of health.
    Losing fat and the weight was easy, getting bulked is my next goal, however, it’s a challenge to increase your protein intake without hurting your pocket book.

      I am looking into Keto.
      I have to do the calculations on reducing my caloric intake, increasing my fat intake, and avoiding carbs.
      Thinking about it just now, I heard whilst on Keto, one meal a day is a viable enough.

    Wow, usually it's the Hindus and Buddhists who are this enlightened...Great to know that others are also seeing the light of day and attain a higher level of conscienceless....Awesome sanctuary. Thanks for saving these cows.

    • @lauratanln
      @lauratanln 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I am from Asia but I don't agree Hindus and Buddhists are enlightened. Most of these people who turn vegetarian do so for religious reasons, are not vegan and not for the animals. Most of them even eat meat by claiming they are in a "different" sect. Even monks, especially Thai monks.

  • @kanrup5199
    @kanrup5199 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    huh. well thats hopeful what they did.
    If you want proteins, theres stuff like chickpeas, mung beans, all kinds of other beans, various kinds of peas, many kinds of legumes and lentils, many kinds of nuts like peanuts, almonds and cashews, mushrooms, potatoes, (I think grains and leafy food also give proteins), soya beans the stuff tofu is made out of (but there might be some hormonal health concerns that was raised about this one you might want to check). These are some of the natural stuff.
    The trick is to make use of spices, salts, oils and herbs to make them taste good in preparation.

    What a lovey story. I've looked through most of the comments and noticed how positive they all were. I think the majority of people care about animals and what happens to them. I think it can be daunting to begin with to make the initial change but once you've made that commitment you realise there's no going back.
