jason please try this dock with a female to female riser cable or adapters to see if this dock could work on other small factor pc"s other then the mini pc its designed for at this docks price and specs it would be awesome to use on older desktops that cant use bigger graffic cards , please test this out when or if you can , and ty sir for your videos
It really depends if beelink will continue to support this formfactor, but I can see it for homelab enthusiasts. Since it comes with dual 2.5 gb ethernet ports you could run some pretty sick VMs off of this. Does the pcie dock have to run a GPU? could you say install an HBA and connect 10 hard drives to it? If yes, this mini PC + dock combo can do a lot of things. Also since the mini PCs run on laptop chips it should be rather power efficient. I can use it as my main gaming PC with a GPU and when I eventually need to get a new PC I can use the mini PC in my network rack to run something. If the GPU dock becomes obsolete, I could still convert it into a NAS or something.
I think, if you are a big mini pc enthusiast just buy a mini pc with vega 8 graphics or iris xe, but for this price, instead of buying a dock, just build your own budget pc edit: (by budget I mean like an rx 7700-800 xt pc)
as someone who i guess is their key demographic. it interests me because i want to switch from laptop to pc. at this price point, i can get more performance at a lower cost than a laptop also its pretty future proof u can swap gpus at the drop of a hat. i also get equal performance to a built pc at the same price point without having to build anything its pretty much plug-and-play. I was going to just settle and build a small pc until i saw beelinks dock setup.
What's the best way to add an external GPU to the Minisforum MS-01? The Gen4 M.2 is already used by the SSD, so I am hoping to use the PCIe Gen4 slot. How about the Beelink EX dock with a PCIe Gen4 extender cable to my Minisforum MS-01. Can it work?
I can see me removing my gaming PC for this, using this mini PC allowing me to create a minimalist setup in my living room. My wife really doesn't like my gaming tower, it's a beautiful white gaming tower... But still a tower.
I am attracted to this simply because of the small footprint. The exposed gpu makes me nervous (dust, damage). I would prefer an enclosure. I’m going to like, subscribe and watch your Minimalist video. Cheers.
2:04 I'm gonna say it: companies need to go back to standardizing the color of USB SS ports, or labeling them. Maybe all the ports. There are so many new devices that still come with USB 2.0, as well as so many options of USB type-C, and users shouldn't need to keep documentation nearby just to see what the ports are. Different versions of USB - 2.0, 3.X (insert confusing info here); HDMI versions; Gb, 2.5Gb, 10Gb, etc. ethernet - the list goes on and on, and you generally can't identify these things by looking at the ports themselves.
I think you're confusing it with cdkey open marketplaces, a few of which have found their users using stolen keys or payment methods - the sponsor of this video is not an open marketplace, they are simply selling OEM keys at a discount. Hope that helps!
And for what it's worth, I've been using them as a source of cdkeys even before they sponsored me, and I've had no problems with the dozens of keys I've purchased.
Thanks for watching! What do you think is the intended use case of this device?
With a different price range I would think for someone who will have more money to upgrade later. As it is now, makes little sense
You sold me!! ty

i guess the price point doesn't seem outlandish to me as i am shifting from laptops which are overpriced as hell.

Honestly after trying to use a 4060ti and the m.2 egpu dock i ended up buying every part needed to build a desktop using my first tower
