Ah the old "BackSlash " conversion, well at least that's what we used to call it back in the day . Looks much better than the ones i converted back when Mike's was still open and i think there was also a class for them , its been a decade tho. But then again we only had the 1st gen slash at the time so i guess alot has changed over the past decade.
Back in the day before the slash 4x4 I combined a nitro slayer and a summit for my race track to make a electric slayer and my race buddies and I named it the SLAMmit it still races today. It does pretty well against the slash 4x4s d since it heavier it can throw it’s weight around with them hahahah like a BOSS
what kind of body is that? i have a rustler 4x4 vxl that i converted to a ruggy and the body that i have on it rn doesnt really fit it well and the slash lcg chassis and the rustler chassis are the same width and i think that that body would fit my rugggy better
Why the heck doesn't Traxxas make an official Slash buggy, kinda like the Arrma 3s Typhon? Seems like a smart and easy thing to do. Don't they like money?
@@Nathan-qt2zi Bandit is 1/10. Slash buggy is closer to 1/8 scale. They could take a 4x4 Slash, mod it into a buggy and label as a Bandit 4x4, but they haven't done that yet oddly enough.
I hope Traxxas will release a Bandit 4x4. A bandit 4x4 LCG Ultimate would be absolutely amazing. Can you imagine? I can. It will probably happen at some point.
@@freddieparrydrums its quite easy, first you need a buggy body a Tekno 1/8 buggy body is a great choice, then you need 12 to 17mm hex adapters you can find them on Amazon or eBay for like 9$, then you need a wing mount Strc makes a buggy kit for the Slash once you buy all this then your done :)
What’s a good nitro fuel because I was using byrons but they don’t sell it no more in my area. So I just bought the traxxas top fuel and too many problems. Should I use vp racing or some other else
Why can’t I get a good tune with the trx top fuel any advice. Don’t tell me to get a different fuel cuz they don’t have byrons on their store. They only have trx top fuel only
VP is good. At least 20%. Try with new glow plug. Or colder plug for hot weather. Check for compression. You should get some resistance by turning the flywheel. And check to see if you’re getting fuel to engine.
How did you like the Sluggy/Backslash? Debating on doing this with my Slash 4x4 that has the STRC lcg chassis. Always wanted a 1/8 scale buggy but could never get myself to pay the price. Feel like it would be perfect with the chassis I have and getting the STRC conversion kit.
@@Nathan-qt2zi Actually, not really. While the Sl4sh & Rusty share a number of parts, there are also several different parts, including a considerably shorter chassis. The shorter chassis makes turning it into a buggy a somewhat more difficult process. Also, considering the rusty has an entirely different body mounts & shock towers, that also means that there is more work involved.

Are you donating the car or are you selling the car? Either way I like the buggy build, it drive so much smoother and it handles way better. Don't like the original shocks but this ones are great. Nice rebuild and clean up and stay safe you and your family 👍 keep up the great videos
My local hobby shop said that yesterday Traxxas had there meeting about the next car they are building. He is a traxxas exclusive dealer and that is what his traxxas sales rep told him because his sales rep had to go to the meeting so its possible!
Slash + buggy = Sluggy. It's so natural. Been calling mine this for years as well. Killer project dude. Very well done. Any slash is better with a rear wing. 2wd or 4x4, buggy body or not. Sluggy FTW!
Honestly you should just set the carb to factory settings, give the HSN an extra 1/8 turn rich, and see what the exhaust/temps look like. Better too rich than too lean. Every nitro carb is different, even two of the same model. You just have to adjust and test over and over until you get it right.

So I've been looking at creating something from a Traxxas platform. To which the rustler 4x4 seems to be reasonably close to the dimensions length wise as well as being l.c.g. by its design. Do you think it's possible to do like you've done with this slash but using standard 1/10 race buggy tyres and rims.
