Cerave Renewing Salicylic Acid Cleanser
Considering, its around 10-15 bucks for a whole 8 ounces, really is an affordable face wash, especially because the small amount needed to effectively cleanse your face, really means you wont be running out of it anytime soon.
Does the Cerave Salicylic Acid Cleanser Clog Pores? Cerave SA Face Wash.
First off, what I have to give credit to is the fact that the renewing Cleanser is non-comedogenic, meaning it won’t clog pores.
Secondly, it doesnt have any of those mechanical exfoliants, those beads, which can be too harsh, and using them too often can leave your skin dry, raw, or red.
Thirdly: it has a ph level of 5.5, which is great since its closer to the skins natural ph, unlike some soaps that can be too disruptive.
Fourthly, it is enriched with vitamin D.
How Much Salicylic Acid in Cerave Cleanser?
This cleanser includes the words “SA” or salicylic acid in its name but doesn’t list it as an active ingredient on the label. Products usually include between 0.5 percent and 2 percent salicylic acid as an active ingredient, it’s possible that this cleanser contains less than 0.5 percent salicylic acid, since it doesn’t list it as an active ingredient at all.
How Often to Use Salicylic Acid Cleanser?
Now lets get into the first game changing tip which is frequency. Now most will go ahead and start using it once or twice a day. Nothing wrong with that. But starting at 2-3x a week and gradually increasing it after a few weeks to daily use will have your skin tolerating it better. There's no exact science, mostly just trial and error to see how your skin reacts. Those who say the product was too harsh, can benefit from this method instead of daily usage or twice a day usage. Remember, we want the most results out of it with the least amount of product used. If your trying to use it moreso for the body, than the CeraVe Body Wash with Salicylic Acid may be better suited as it works a little better on thicker skin.
How Much Salicylic Acid to Use?
A Coin Sized Amount Works Well. Youll find that in order to get the perfect lather, the skin has to first be wet. But to wet the skin, the hands need to be completely washed off and cleaned first before it touches the product dispenser and then the face. You can accomplish with about 1 full pump.
How Long to Wash Your Face With Salicylic Acid?
Timing of the actual wash. Now if youre in a hurry, and you dont have a 5 step skincare routine, you might be washing your face too fast. Or for too long for that matter. There is a sweet spot with this product. An appropriate face-washing session, should last no longer than two minutes. If youre going over 2 minutes, that excess scrubbing, rinsing, and cleansing may disrupt healthy sebum production and dry out your skin.
Should You Use Sunscreen With Salicylic Acid?
The fourth game changing tip is the use of sunscreen after this product, in your daytime routine. Because salicylic acid thins out the surface of the skin, sunscreen is a necessity with it, as your skin may be more vulnerable to sun rays. So After you apply your salicylic acid cleanser, you may apply a soothing moisturizer, wait about 1-2 minutes, and then top that off with a sunscreen.
How Long Does Cerave Salicylic Acid Take to Work?
And in terms of how long should you wait to see results, lets say if you wanted to switch back to your normal cleanser. You should see results at the 4 to six weeks mark. If you dont see any results at the 4 week mark, give it another 2 weeks for both noninflammatory and inflammatory acne.

Happy Holidays Doctor Thank You For Keeping Us Informed Stay Doing God's Work 🙏👨⚕️
Thanks doc. I really needed these tips.
So Happy I Could Help! 😀
A very mild wonderful wash! I have dry skin and it didn’t aggravate my skin at all. I took makeup off first then washed with this product. I also used CeraVE resurfacing cream and then CeraVE night cream or a night cream with hydralaunic acid . Love the CeraVE products! I also switch between the CeraVE moisture wash.
You are the best good video thanks 👍👍👍💜
Thanks for this review
Pls can it clear millia on the face?
I mean the cerave cleanser
I have the same issue with the pump tops. I remove the pump top and replace it with a push-in cap from some other bottle that fits. This also helps with portion control.
Great tip actually! Thanks for sharing. 😃
With mature skin it real did a number on my skin 😢 Dried me out and my lips were so chapped. I should not used it daily . I’m going to try it a couple times a week. I wish I had watched your video first 😅
Love you so !!!!! Merci 🙏🏼 ❤

Do I need to double clean or this works for removing makeup too?
One video on sa smoothing cleanser please sir ❤
Can this cleanser help hyperpigmentation on the cheek and under the chin? Can it be used on the body?
Is it suitable for dry skin for women?
Would this work for sebaceous hyperplasia? I have extreme stubborn bumps and even had helix laser twice, and there is still bumps. It’s a frustrating condition I’ve been battling with for years!
can i use for my combination skin?
i use it on my butt to remove dry bumps and prickly skin
Can I use it as a daily cleanser? Day and Night? thank you!
Yes, it's gentle enough for daily use.
Which CeraVe product u would recommend for my oily/combi skin with big pores? It has blackheads, rashes, comedones
This one or even better the smoothing sa one
@@optimizedbrain_ i tried, and it made my skin even worst, also clog my pores, and not only with me this happened...
@@optimizedbrain_any after products to use after using this? Cerave retinol serum? A specific cream?
I'm acne prone skin type and I've been using this for 3 days now and my skin is so dry is peeling ...I'm scared but hopefully will get better soon.
Try using it less times a week :)
Use moisturizer of cetaphill or cerave ,Also don't forget to use sunblock because this cleanser makes your skin sensitive.
@@neabostrom if i use this once a week, what face wash should we use the other days of the week? Can u pls recommend any?
Would this help with milia?
Yes, it may. I have a separate video on that I encourage you to watch.

I'm using this product for 8 days first three days were good my skin looks better and smoother after that my skin become dry also change my skin color from white to brown. What should I do?
Any new updates?
Can (SA) face wash reduce acne spot?
Yes!
Salycylic acid is before phenoxyethanol it must be 1% not less than 0.5 %
Would something like this be effective if you didn’t use it daily but maybe like half the week. I want to try this for help with sebaceous filaments and hyperpigmentation but I have dry skin and I’m worried it’ll make my skin even more dry
Can a 14 year old can use this?
I used ceraVe for 3 days when a lot of acne appeared on my face. Is this normal, doctor?
It could be your skin that's purging itself. Sometimes when starting a new routine, it's only normal for it do that for about two weeks and a half, so, keep doing what you are doing. If the acne doesn't go down, then find a new product.
@@user-pr5ve8ud7z Thank you. This is what turns out. Of course, today is the middle of the second week, and the pimples are gradually starting to disappear
Me too
I am afraid if it makes more acne on my face😢
How can found original Cerave sa cleanser?
Is it good for combination skin type?
Thanks for your question! Yes!
@@ArsalanAspires Can I use hydrating foaming cleanser instead of this? Or CERAVE SA cleaner
@@aditi_11 Either or! SA will be a tad bit more exfoliating.
Hi Dr.<
I just bought this. Hopefully, it'll get rid of my skin tags.
I might have Seborrheic keratosis because my tags are FLAT.
I will NOT put garlic and ACV on my face. LOL!
I had a roommate who used that product because he had acne, and the stuff was nauseatingly gross smelling. It has a weird medicinal scent that made me gag every time I used the restroom and smelled it. I like unscented products.
Are you sure it is the SA cleanser that smells? I use it and it is fragrance free, but it does have a very slight faint soapy smell when sniffing it up close.
Sorry to hear! 😦
It has the most faint scent to it. Litterally almost no smell whatsoever…
I wonder if it may have been a bad batch or maybe was super old and had gone bad? It should be unscented and doesn’t really have a scent to it
I have hyperpigmentation can I still used this product?
Yes!
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Thank you! 😀
❤️💖❤️🙏❤️💖❤️
I sawbit also has sodium benzoate which can give me a migraine and has been linked to HDHD in children.
I like this one better than another one of Cerave (2% SA). My skin is obviously smoother wo drying out.
I use once a day in the evening to clean all skin cares I put since the morning.
Do you use it daily?
Don’t know why but this cleanser makes my skin more dry and flaky😢
It might be slightly too aggressive.
@@ArsalanAspires thanks you so much of the reply .so shall I stop using this cleanser?
No thanks I want 2%, sounds like it won’t do shit
It comes down to preference.
I use Paula's Choice I Skin Perfecting. I think ceraVe is gentle and dries the skin automatically and I don't feel any tingling sensation in my face. As for Paula's Choice I Skin Perfecting, I feel a tingling sensation and it is 2% salicylic acid
TBH all these informations are common sense, wasted 8 minutes of my life for these "game changing tips"
Hey bro nice, you sound like a Joe Biden 😅
Would this work for sebaceous hyperplasia? I have extreme stubborn bumps and even had helix laser twice, and there is still bumps. It’s a frustrating condition I’ve been battling with for years!
