I’ve always had bad skin, especially acne, and I was tired of trying all the expensive stuff. The subliminal affirmations on borlest have honestly been the one thing that’s made a real difference. My skin feels so much better now.
Hospital pharmacist here - I just want to say that I LOVE that you talk about and show studies that you guys are using to support your recommendations in these videos.
I have an acne-prone skin and sensitive skin. I will share the things has worked for me in managing it. I reduced my consumption of sugar and cooked at my own house with nutritious foods. I also ate nuts, seeds, and fresh coconut to stay cool. I tried to relax and not worry too much. I used sunscreen and cleaned my face twice with litleeextra riceberyy face wash. I replaced my pillowcase every two days. I always tied up my hair and had a lot of water. I stopped contacting my face excessively. I stuck to my routine without skipping a day.
I have acne with very dry skin. All of the moisturizers that are supposed to be for acne prone skin are extremely drying and the ones for people with dry skin clog my pores..
I use Cerave PM (in the morning and in the evening). My acne (somewhat mild and onseting in adulthood) did not get worse with this one. And, bc of the cerimides and niacinimide, my skin is better able to handle actives (I use SA toner, BP wash, adapoline, and BP spot treatment all in the same day every day).
Dr Shah it's wonderful that you talk openly about having body acne. When I was struggling with face and body acne in the 80s nobody talked about it. It was as if acne stopped at your chin, there was no information at all. Thank you for talking about it and giving people the knowledge to fight it
Thank you for this video. I haven't used acne based products in over a year because I went on Accutane for 8 months. I had cystic acne and at 39, I had enough. I was acne free over a year and the past couple of months, I've had small breakouts. I've decided to at least look for products that help manage it. I discovered this channel and have learned so much on putting together a routine for AM and PM. Thank you both! Also, thanks for the education on Retinol, I've started using one for the first time!
I'm glad that you said that don't use both an acne wash AND a spot treatment, just choose one or the other. I used to do both and it would be too irritating and I didn't get any results. Thank you!!
Why do all people assume, including dermatologists, acne prone skin is oily!?? I've been struggling with the dry sensitive acne prone skin for years and "doctors" still don't consider it while giving advice online. Quite disappointing 😮
Surprised you guys didn’t mention the cerave salicylic/glycolic/lactic acid leave on gel!!!! Honestly I used adapalene for yearssss and yet this cerave product works WAY better for me, is less irritating, and gives me reliably beautiful results.
Hypochlorus acid has been another phenomenal thing for acne I’ve discovered this year. I might even go as far to say….comparable to benzoyl peroxide. I use both in my routine and the hypochlorus acid helps greatly to minimize irritation! Happy new year!
Accutane via my dermatologist was the only option that effectively "cured" my face/body acne. I haven't had any spots in two years! Crazy how much money I've saved by not having to buy OTC products every month. I got the idea to see a dermatologist about whether or not I would be a candidate for accutane from this channel. So thank you thank you!
Me too... for acne, I realised that it's best to use microemulsion instead, since it is more lightweight than other types of moisturisers. I use Invity youth activating microemulsion, it targets prevention of wrinkles and helps with my acne prone skin so best of both worlds!
I’ve had all kinds of skin issues, from dryness to redness, but after trying the subliminal affirmations on borlest, my skin has become so much healthier and balanced. I’m really impressed!
I would have loved it if there was also an SPF on this list. I prefer as few steps as possible so any recommendations for an SPF moisturizer for acne prone/oily skin is welcome!
Not specifically for acne prone skin but I've had a lot of success with it is the Neutragena SPF 50 face serum. It's lightweight and blends in well. It doesn't leave a white cast and it isn't greasy. Almost mattifying but not quite if that makes sense. I also don't get breakouts from it. I also find it moisturizing enough to not always need a face moisturizer.
Bacne tips in case it helps anyone else as well (I rarely get bacne now): 1. Washing back thoroughly with cleanser after shampoo and conditioner. I used to wash my back before my hair. Big mistake. Some of the ingredients in our hair products can cause breakouts. 2. If someone else in the household showers like demon with water hot enough to be straight from hell, don't leave your towel in the bathroom. Bacteria loves that kind of environment.
I've struggled with breakouts forever and nothing seemed to work. I’ve been listening to the subliminal affirmations on borlest for a few weeks now, and I swear my skin has never looked this clear. I didn’t expect it to work, but it really did.
To be honest, I didn’t expect much from the subliminal affirmations on borlest, but my skin has improved so much. I’ve had fewer breakouts and it’s looking clearer every day. So happy I found this!"
Happy new yearrr i hope i can get rid of my acne this year. And your videos have helped me learn sooo much about skincare i wish i had discovered you guys earlier
I love the Neutrogena BP y’all talked about. I have rosacea and BP has always worked incredible for my inflammatory acne but god it is drying. The Neutrogena one is so nice. When I start experiencing a patch of inflammatory acne, I use BP for a few nights and it really helps.
Seconding this. First two weeks of newborn wreaked havoc and I got breakouts like I've not had in decades since HS because routine for me went out the window... 10w later and I finally got things under control just from routine, but at 15w it's all gone back to hell as I've added beard care back in to the routine (I neglected that entirely until just a couple weeks ago). Not sure if it's the beard wash, bear oil, or beard balm that causes the breakout I don't use all 3 daily so would love to learn more on this topic.
I ordered both the cetaphil products on this video one month ago. And they are working wonders for my skin. The cleanser is a little drying for me so I use it once every other day and as a spot treatment on any zits I do get. But since starting this my acne is very minimal! I only get 1 or 2 pimples during my period, when I would usually have 10 or more all the time not just during pms. And with using the cleanser as a spot treatment (I'll do a little dab on my zit and leave for maybe 10 mins. Doing this once a day) they go away very quickly, lasting 3 days max. My skin has improved immensely! Which has improved my confidence immensely. Also the moisturizer is amazing!! I love it and will never use anything else. It's very lightweight and mattifying. I used to need oil sheets to absorb all the oil on my face, using them multiple times an hour and now I don't need them at all. My skin isn't oily anymore. I am SO happy with these results I've gotten! I wish I started using it sooner honestly. Thank you for suggesting this! I'm so grateful
I'm so happy to see Cetaphil on the list! Beginning of 2023, I was looking to directly treat my acne affordably (that also supports dry skin) and no one was talking about the Cetaphil gentle clear line. I prefer generally Cetaphil over CeraVe so I just took the drive & I'm still using rhe same first bottles. They hold a lot of product, actually really cheap (if you get them at CVS with rewards points they're even cheaper), and overall really nice. Again happy to see th get attention, now i hope they don't sell off the shelves bc of it. 😅😂
I use the La-Roche Posay 5% Benzoyl Peroxide cream. Love it. Although my acne is significantly lesser now after I crossed 30, I still do get it occasionally. This product is my fav by a mile. If you apply it as soon as you feel something comining up, you're gonna get the best results. For moisturitzer, I use the Elta MD. Its mild but you don't feel that heaviness on the skin.
Clindamycin topical solution works for my skin and I don't need oral antibiotics. It's a prescription. La Roche Posay products are great as are Cerave and Cetaphil. And Shiseido makes two nice cleansing products. I use the one for oily to blemish prone skin. And these two docs are great.
I alternate between BP wash and SA wash as my second cleanser at night. If im having a breakout i focus on the BP for a few days. Gentle cleanser in the morning. Works well for me, and dont find it drying😊
Hey guys, news circulating around about dangers of benzoyl peroxide based products as it can break down into benzene, a carcinogenic substance. Could you please look into the matter and give us your opinion? Should we all throw away our products?
Nice! I just bought the CeraVe retinol resurfacing serum. Can’t wait to try it out. I have a few of their products which I like. I haven’t tried any Cetaphil products, but I’ve heard good things.
@@laurenreneebrittany1797 thanks so much! 😊. So excited to try it out. The Cetaphil gentle cleanser will definitely be next on my list. Happy New Year!
I’ve been using the Differin face wash for over 2 years and I even gifted one of my extra bottles to my teen niece because I truly believe in it! It changed my skin after just a few days of consistent use. I rarely get breakouts now and my skin texture looks so much better and healthier
Differin gel burns my daughters skin. She uses the tiniest amount too! Like just a little skid marks worth 😅, and she puts on lotion first, then the differin gel but always wakes up the next morning with a tomato face. The skin under her eyes turns leathery. 😞
Micronized benzoyl peroxide really works. 2.5% BP was my favorite acne treatment for years but once I got rosacea My skin reacted very badly to it. I bought some of the Neutrogena Stubborn acne BP for my kids and tried a little. Like a miracle, no irritation, at least using it as a spot treatment for active breakouts.
I've been dealing with acne for 3 decades and love and use all the ingredients you mentioned on a daily / weekly basis. They make a difference! However, even after Accutane and going gluten-free, I never knew what it was like to be breakout free until I tried the ordinary copper peptides. I don’t know why that works, but if I try to take it out (because $30 can be a lot for 30ml), the acne flares back up every time. It's a pain because it doesn’t play well with other ingredients, but I can't live without it.
Best video of the year.period. struggling with acne for over 44yrs..cystic acne. Did the Dermatologist thing.did the accutane thing.did the influencers thing i am on minocycline now. Will try these products....thing...lol..thnx docs wish me luck😊
Seriously, I had cystic acne forever, but I got some Retin A, stuck with it religiously and after 6 months I started seeing a difference. No more cystic acne.
Spironolactone changed my life as far as acne. Had hormonal acne my whole life (it was awful) and now it is completely gone. Started taking 100 mg a day on 11/18 and as of today…no acne at all. 2024 is going to be awesome ❤
Love you guys (been watching since day 1!) … idk if this is derm related but can you guys do a video on jaw slimming/double chin massages or tips - could also debunk the thousands of vids on TikTok saying to use a guasha or massage your skin products in in a certain way to “drain lymphatic tissue” … is it even possible for any double chin / jaw improvement without getting anything cosmetic done????
can you please make a video on IBS ( Inflammatory Bowel Syndrome ) and Leaky Gut Syndrome relationship to Pustular acne ..... because i am getting pustular acne for the last six years have tried almost every ingredient available
I have deep acne scars and large pores. My acne is a lot better but still needs to be under better control. I know I’m beyond the point of serums and creams fixing my skin. What’s the best approach to stop new acne, and heal and resurface old scars? Micro needling? Peels? Lasers?
Ive been dealing with acne for about a year now and have very oily skin. I ordered both the cetaphil products you showed, after watching this. Excited to see how they do. Thanks for making this guys!

I used cetaphil products this year n I broke out bad that I got cystic acne worst products I used I’m still trying to find a good product for my acne I hope my acne clears up this year
Just get zineryt from your doctor… I used that as a teen. It cleared it up all the acne and I’ve never had any since. I don’t even directly clean my face that often, I basically just get it wet in the shower. People are always complementing me on how good my skin looks and asking what my routine is. I don’t have one.
Would love to see if you have looked into head and shoulders for Acne? I am currently in esthetics school and one of my colleagues uses it for her Acne she has been to many dermatologist and used many products however she started to have a reaction to something and stopped using all of her products to try to figure out what. In the mean time she was using head and shoulders shampoo for her hair and all of the sudden her face started to get better??!! She uses it to this day as her Cleanser ♡♡♡ would love to know what you think! ❤ thank you always for all of your amazing videos!!
If you had acne prone skin would it be recommended to use multiple products from this list or would be using an acne product in each step of your routine be over-irritating?
Can yall talk about, go over and suggest the best under eye patches? I’ve never used them because to close to the eyes freaks me out if the ingredients aren’t good.
I was told about a salicylic adic serum by Cétaphil and I have not tried it yet. I see you mentioned Differin and not this serum. For me, cheap sugar makes my skin break out; I have combo skin and I like the Cétaphil 30 spf lotion for during the day. If I get a break out I like the Dr. Hauschka Clarifying Oil at night.
Just putting it out there-subliminal affirmations for perfect skin and beauty on Borlest work wonders. If you’ve never tried it, now’s the time. You’ll be amazed at the difference!
It took me so long of trials and errors to find out what no dermatologist or skin guru tells you. Here it is: i use cerave hydrating salicylic acid face wash in the morning and neutrogena banzyl peroxide 2.5 cream, and all the other products I use after that are all hydrating. Bc I’m using drying products for the acne, everything after that has to be hydrating. The next I use hydrating toner, I can’t skip this, if I do, my skin has dry flakes, then hydrating moisturizer, then hydrating sunscreen. At night I double cleanse, oil base then cetaphil hydrating foam wash then moisturizers. Just hydrating at night, and vitamin c serum. At night all my products are with centella or something that is for whitening to heal my acne scars. Almost all my products are Korean, if not then cetaphil and cerave makes great products, but mostly cleansers. Everything else korean. They focus on whitening their skin and just everything to have a glass skin. This helped me 2 decades of acne problems. Also, one of the doctors says he’s got back acne. Body acne and the face too starts in the gut. Body acne is mostly sugar and then possibly over processed foods. Face oiliness and dryness can be healed from the gut too, and skincare that helps control it.
I think there are some acne prone skins that are dry. Ever heard of Immersive Translate?? It is a tool with meticulously crafted prompts, that allows translations in the technology field become more accurate and professional.
I would love to order products from your video, but going to your fronts products aren't easy to find. I would love if you had the links in your video listed with the video.
Could you please make a video for tween acne/sensitive skincare products & routine. I don't want to use anything too harsh or strong on my daughters face. She's oily in T zone & normal/ dryer on her perimeter. Thanks!
A question? Does crying cause acne? I cry a lot and most of the time the tears dry up on my face, I do wash my face twice a day though. I have been consistently using adapalene and benzoyl peroxide
Try Differin if you haven’t yet! I had cystic acne for almost 20 years. I’ve been on Differin for a few months and my skin is basically clear from acne. Now, I’m just working on the hyperpigmentation.
the exfoliating serum i use to get rid of my acne scars works amazing for me, and i recently found out they are vegan and cruelty-free. search Invity exfoliating serum, you won't regret getting it.

Applying riceebery face wash helped diminish my acne and improved my skin complexion.

Having started using rice berry face wash for two weeks now, it is clear that it’s far superior than the hyped-up cetaaphil.

I have deep acne scars and large pores. My acne is a lot better but still needs to be under better control. I know I’m beyond the point of serums and creams fixing my skin. What’s the best approach to stop new acne, and heal and resurface old scars? Micro needling? Peels? Lasers?
I love the skin1004 centella gel moisturizer. It is amazing and hasnt aggravated my rosacea or acne. Rovectin lotus cream is another good one
Can you do a video for hypochlorous acid? Tia
Ive been dealing with acne for about a year now and have very oily skin. I ordered both the cetaphil products you showed, after watching this. Excited to see how they do. Thanks for making this guys!
Hello, any feedback plz?
@@hajarzerhoune3391 they are working wonders for my skin. The cleanser is a little drying for me so I use it once every other day and as a spot treatment on any zits I do get. But since starting this my acne is very minimal! I only get 1 or 2 pimples during my period and with using the cleanser as a spot treatment (I'll do a little dab on my zit and leave for maybe 10 mins. Doing this once a day) they go away very quickly, lasting 3 days max. My skin has improved immensely! And the moisturizer is amazing. It's very light and mattifying. I used to need oil sheets to absorb all the oil on my face, using them multiple times an hour and now I don't need them at all. My skin isn't oily anymore. I am SO happy with these results I've gotten! I wish I started using it sooner honestly.
I used cetaphil products this year n I broke out bad that I got cystic acne worst products I used I’m still trying to find a good product for my acne I hope my acne clears up this year
Just get zineryt from your doctor…
I used that as a teen. It cleared it up all the acne and I’ve never had any since.
I don’t even directly clean my face that often, I basically just get it wet in the shower. People are always complementing me on how good my skin looks and asking what my routine is. I don’t have one.
What do you think of using both Cetaphil Gentle Clear BPO Acne Cleanser + Cetaphil Gentle Clear Mattifying Acne Moisturiser?
Number one for my acne is retinol.
For my acne problems, I always use Monsia products, which dry and clear them up without leaving blemishes on the skin 🤨
Pls how and when do we use the treatment?
@Doctorly please explain how to start and end AM and PM with these please 🙏 thank you so much 😊
If you had acne prone skin would it be recommended to use multiple products from this list or would be using an acne product in each step of your routine be over-irritating?
Wondering the same thing?!? Aint it too much?
He said to choose one: cleanser or treatment.
No it wont be irritating if chosen correct product according to your skin type. You have to use cleanser, retinoids, sunscreen and moisturizer.
Can yall talk about, go over and suggest the best under eye patches? I’ve never used them because to close to the eyes freaks me out if the ingredients aren’t good.
Preciate y'all and I hope y'all are both doing well
Happy New Year when it comes🎉🎉🎉
I know there hasn't been a head to head study on this yet, but are there observations regarding the use of retinal vs adapalene for acne?
What about dry acne prone skin? Any recs?
I was told about a salicylic adic serum by Cétaphil and I have not tried it yet. I see you mentioned Differin and not this serum.
For me, cheap sugar makes my skin break out; I have combo skin and I like the Cétaphil 30 spf lotion for during the day. If I get a break out I like the Dr. Hauschka Clarifying Oil at night.
Great video! would love to know your take on silver chitosan as an ingredient in healing and reducing acne as nobody ever talks about it! :)
Off topic, but your smiles are gorgeous ❤
Hi guys, hope you t two have a prosperous and Happy New Year 😀
Hi would love a video on hypochlorous acid and is it effective 😀
Does Mary Kay work ???
Happy New year My favourite Doctors 🫶🏻
hello! what alternative can you recommend for adapalene or retinol for breastfeeding moms with acne?
Can we use the SA cleanser around the eye area? If no, another gentle one for eye areas is needed? That would make the budget a bit tighter
I would love to order products from your video, but going to your fronts products aren't easy to find. I would love if you had the links in your video listed with the video.
Valuable information thank you 💯
Suggest a moisturizer for acne prone , dry to combination skin type please
Suggestion: skincare routines for teenagers
Can you talk about prescriptions options just for your thoughts on them? For example Winlevi?
Thank you for all the skin care guidance🙏Happy New Year Dr Maxfield & Dr Shah💝
Could you please make a video for tween acne/sensitive skincare products & routine. I don't want to use anything too harsh or strong on my daughters face. She's oily in T zone & normal/ dryer on her perimeter. Thanks!
Do you guys have recommendations for sunscreen for acne prone skin?
opt for a mineral sunscreen, so far i like Invity mineral sunscreen the most. It does not have a white cast and it did not break me out.
I was super acne prone and I have pretty much cleared my face with vanicream cleanser and tretinoin.
A question? Does crying cause acne? I cry a lot and most of the time the tears dry up on my face, I do wash my face twice a day though. I have been consistently using adapalene and benzoyl peroxide
Yes, because stress is causing acne
Nothing for cystic acne?
Try Differin if you haven’t yet! I had cystic acne for almost 20 years. I’ve been on Differin for a few months and my skin is basically clear from acne. Now, I’m just working on the hyperpigmentation.
@@candicane1 I tried it before but not consistently. I can get this over the counter now correct?
BP cleansers bleach my towels no matter how well I think I rinse it off!
Is it okay to mix up those products?
how do i consult you online?
It would be great to see a video all about vegan products! Thanks for the great content!
You can try out this brand I love! They are vegan and cruelty-free, I get almost all my skincare products from Invity.
How about the Cerave cleanser with 4% benzol peroxide ? Is it good ?
Acne sunscreen name ???
Can you review Dr Sam Ellis she is a dermatologist who launched her own skin care brand I'd love to know ypur imput in the products
Would love to see some cruelty-free options for those of us who don't support brands that still test on animals. Thank you.
the exfoliating serum i use to get rid of my acne scars works amazing for me, and i recently found out they are vegan and cruelty-free. search Invity exfoliating serum, you won't regret getting it.
