Just got mine today. The product was packaged upside down, so my lid cover was broken in 2. Luckily it was a clean break so I could super glue it back together, but I'm still hoping they send me a replacement. Great review, subbed.
Nice review. The removable lid can also be a big plus like when you need to do some work/maintenance or cleaning. Then you have all the room and nothing is in the way. As for the lid damaging like that. Maybe putting a handle and some transparent adhesive foil on it could help?
The lid breaking is a known widespread issue. The cover material is getting damaged by the resin fumes. It is possible to contact anycubic and request a replacemement (They have actually changed the material of it on the newer batches). This is completely covered by the warranty so it ships to you for free.
Dude you scared me so bad..I unpacked mine last night and has the packaging in the trash bag to go out when I saw your comment about the bolt for the build plate being in the cylinder foam section. I went to check and nothing was inside? But it appears I have all my parts. The big bolt came already on the machine. Super weird LOL Mini heart attack!

I have now had mine 4 days and it was definately not worth the two month wait. Fedex delivered it in an undamaged box but deapite the nice packaging inside my cover was shattered and cracked. I taped it all back toghther and set off to printing. The provided sample print failed multiple times, then some of my own prints failed multiple times. I releveled the bed numerous times with no luck. Finially I put a machinist straight edge on the bed and found out that it has a bow of nearly half a MM in the center. Basically all 4 corners of the plate touch but nothing in the middle. I did get something to print just now by positioning them on the very outer edges and it worked verifying that my resin and 3 second layer times are not the culprit here. I have had so many failed prints now that I have just about worn out the Fep from cleaning out the vat a dozen times. Anycubic is so cheap that they have decided not to even send a single spare sheet with a 550 dollar printer, what an absolute joke. I also hate the way that the screen is held in with tape. my vat and film do not sit perfectly down on the screen in the corners because the tape seems to be a bit too thick around the edges. I have started a service ticket with Anycubic but I dont have much hope as their service lately has apparently gone way down hill. If they let me send it back I will box this POS back up and send it back to them stupid lift off monster cracked lid and all. They sure have gone downhill since the origional photon. For anybody on the fence about ordering this and waiting who knows how long I would say dont do it, wait for something else to come along, this thing is rubbish, real shame to I am an anycubic fan boy from way back but I am jaded now.
I think most companies are rushing to market and sending sub par products out. They all want to be the first to have 4k, mono, crappy plastic lid, that shatters with no frame..ughh it so disappointing but not surprising. I hope you resolve your issue with AnyCubic. Leave a comment here and let us all know how it goes! That bow has got to go!
@Will Huff To my suprise customer service replied to my ticket and assured me that they would be sending me a new cover and a new plate, but half of the email was chineese and half of it was english so we shal see. They asked to confirm my address so that is a good sign. Hope it takes less than a month. I should be able to surface the plate on a milling machine next week to get it dead flat and then hand sand it for some texture and hopefully that will do it...Happy Printing!
@@Will_Huff Well Despite several emails back and forth with my anycubic "engineer" that has been assigned to my complaint I still have no tracking number for any replacement parts. He just wants to send me an email asking me to complete a survey if I am pleased with his results....he is about to get a completed survey allright! Now yesterday I noticed that the acrylic cover...what was left of it is starting to craze all over. I have not wiped it down with IPA as I am framiliar with its effects on acrylic, especially less expensive extruded acrylic. The entire cover is showing signs of cracking but it is definately the worst down where the acrylic is closest to the vat leading me to assume that the fumes from the resin are attacking It. I am using elegoo ABS like resin which is of course common as dirt and I cant wait to see what other people experience with theirs!
@@DimensionMachine I’m seeing a lot of comments like this on several forums. I’m also seeing issues on the forum where folks are having UV light leaks, where the entire fep is being slightly exposed to create a sorta sludge on the bottom of the vat. I think Anycubic will be forced to deal with these issues. Keep us updated on your issues!
You never showed what was in the box for the... unboxing. This is my first 3D printer so I was really hoping to find out what was in the "Tool set" since that's all that's specified in the website. I'd like to know what else I need to buy before it arrives...

Sure. My point that was lost, maybe Anycubic should have spent a bit more time thinking about making the lid unique instead of following all the other companies who are adopting this design.

Relevel the bed again to make sure your home is correct. Also check your exposure time with your resin. And lastly I’d check and make sure you’re set to 100% on the exposure power level.
I’m not sure. Lots of people posting in other forums they are have the exact issue I complained about in this video. We will have to see what works and what doesn’t. Lots of folks pissed with their lids.
Seems they are building then shipping inventory at about 1000 units. If they are on pre-order then probably making new inventory. Best to send them email and see what their timeline is.

@@brandonoliver2818 It's not better. I purchased several new bottles of resin that were on sale on Prime day. I'll try and do a comparison video soon. The stuff from MonoCure is expensive as it ships from Australia and its added into the cost (from amazon), which is why its higher...but not better.. they do sell some interesting resins like Flexible and another one called Tuff, that makes prints less fragile. But they are even more expensive and maybe only for a special use case prints?
Mine did too. Make sure the name and password have the correct punctuation, make sure there is a comma after each line. Also make sure to reboot after you add the WiFi txt. mine would say fail..then after 5 min it would show the IP.
Anycubic makes a decent product but they are a terrible company to do business with. I've been waiting 37 days for 1kg of resin. They refuse to simply refund me for it and i get nothing but run around from them. They've seen the last of my money they are ever going to.

I have 3 resin printers with the lift off lids like that. The 2 older ones have gotten quite messy on the lids but none have cracked.

Spray some clear coat on the lids prior to use.
You can just print a handle and attach with double sided tape, did that for my sonic mini and AC Mono and my wash and cure. Keeps the cover clean.
I might do a crazy mod/video, where I'm going to build a robotic crane system to lift it up and replace it for me.

Your work around is the same I had to do with the Longer 3D Orange 10 before they finally added ChiTuBox support.
Lets hope Chitubox they are a little quicker with their updates in adding profiles of these new machines!

I could see the fold up lid being as much of a problem if you had narrow bench space against a wall. In that case the lift off could be better.

Just bought one, how do you hollow models?
Use Chitubox as your slicer and choose to hollow and choose thickness. Pop some holes in it for draining.

Anycubic has not official put them in the store yet. You can get replacement sheets you can cut to size on Amazon.

The beta version of lychee works with mono x and it's better than chitubox
Honestly. I cannot fathom why you would touch the screen with gloves filled with IPA or resin? Feels like something that could easily be avoided.
I think you misunderstood, I'm referencing the yellow enclosure not the touch screen.
