Gravity: From Apple To The Black Hole | Malayalam Lecture By Vaisakhan Thampi

This lecture deals with the origin and evolution of our idea about gravitation for a layperson's understanding. Emphasis is on the development from Isaac Newton's revolutionary steps in formulating the science of gravity (where 'Apple' acts as a popular icon) to Einstein's reconstruction of gravity in the form of General theory of relativity (which predicts and explains a 'black hole'). Although graduate level students of physics are also targeted, mathematical rigor is deliberately avoided.

ചന്ദ്രനില്‍ ഗുരുത്വാകര്‍ഷണം ഉണ്ട്. പക്ഷെ ഭൂമിയുടെ 1/6 ഗുരുത്വാകര്‍ഷണം മാത്രേ ഉള്ളു. ഭൂമിയില്‍ 60 kg ഉള്ള ഒരു ആള്‍ ചന്ദ്രനില്‍ പോയാൽ 10 kg മാത്രെ ഉണ്ടാകൂ.
