Using the show as a podcast is even more comedic having watched so many of your videos, like when a car drives past and you pause I can tell the exact look on your face 😂😂, or a bird making noise, loving having the option for both, thanks Yowana!
So true!! I often have listened to the videos as a podcast in the past but always have to glance at the screen to see the car-driving-by-in-the-middle-of-my-fire-biz-shoe-soliloquy face. Classic.
To me, I don't think you should have to justify entering agreements or acquiring goods from companies. Everyone gets value added to their business. You are benefitting from Tracksmith and I guarantee they are benefiting from sending you gear/clothes. And the Hobby Jogger effect for shoe companies is on clear display in the Supwell app. I know I have purchased shoes based on your recommendations (or not bought them based on your recommendations). I may not keep them all since you and I have different running styles/speeds, but I've kept some. Keep up the great work and can't wait to hear about your weekend race!
Again: love your content! Was out of country for a couple weeks and came back and watched embarrassing much of your videos since I’m back. Thanks again. Hope you are doing well. Great effort on that ultra! Life is humbling sometimes but makes you better.
I loved these shoes ! Ran my first half marathon in them without even testing them. Gave me zero issues. Also I can’t wait to hear the Nike Streakfly podcast 😂
Hope you are crushing the ultra and keeping warm in the Tracksmith merino. Glad you got such a great drop from them! Have really enjoyed following your training for the ultra and appreciate the amazing work you do for us Hobby Joggers.
You do you, Yowana! Thanks for sharing your honest opinions on shoes! Those are hard to come by on TH-cam these days. Happy for the success of your channel!
I have run two marathons in EP4s. In April, 4:00 at 66 degrees, rain, and high humidity, and in October, 3:48 at 60 degrees, overcast, and low humidity. After April, one ankle felt like I had a minor strain, for a couple days, but no swelling. After October, no pain post race. I also ran 25K, 5K, and half marathon races in them. I'm 6'2", 187 lbs. They are certainly fine for marathons at my pace. Based on my 25K, I felt like they really like going faster than my marathon pace, 8:00 pace and below. I guess I have to run my next marathon at 8:00 pace :)
Yo bro I was listening to this episode on podcast while running this morning and during your running segment it felt like you were running beside me and when you did strides it kinda compelled me to follow suit, hahahabang! 💥
Hahaha I love that! Thank you for sharing. Also thanks for coming back and leaving a comment on the video 💪🏽 one of the things I feel is missing from the podcast format is that people can't comment on it
Saucony Endorphin Pro 4 has actually been one of my Favs FUN shoes this year! REEEAAALY looking forward to seeing Saucony's improvements on their lineup next year- especially after some TRE vids recently! AND...GOOD LYCK YOWANA (I'm FULLY CONFIDENT you will make a BANGER out of your first ULTRA!!!
The advantage to developing some relationships with the brands is that you could get shoes in advance of release and release your reviews right before or right as they come out. It's also good for the brands. How many Novablasts is Asics selling because you gave it a glowing review? Also, 27 Amendments. Good luck and stay warm on the Ultra. :)
I don't have a history with Saucony but they became a Top 3 brand for me recently with the Tempus, Surge 3, Hurricane, Endorphin Speed 3 & Kinvara Pro. Be careful if you go after Wolverine World Wide 😁
@@MargaretMook I pretty much exclusively run all of my miles in the EP2 and EP3. I take the EP2 to the track and use it for intervals on the road as well, EP3 for the more steady stuff and my weekend long runs.
The furry windshield for mics are designed for outdoors whilst the normal windshields are to prevent plosives, if it helps Congrats on the Tracksmith drop btw - I'm of the opinion that the sum of all the little moments are what make up life
I had lots of fun with my pair of Nike Invincible 3 . And I didn't regret replacing them with the Puma MagMax Nitro. But the Invincible has a bit better stability in the heels and it is easier to keep running fast when doing turns ... the MagMax flaw is to really only in the huge wider base to stabilize the huge and soft foam. The ZoomX has a wobbly feeling in the heel when running quickly but is stable, no ankles falling inwards. The MagMax is awesome, but I need to reduce the speed when turning... here is almost summer time and the weaknesses of the Nitro foam is that it gets even softer with heat.
I just ordered this one!! Excited to get it and start using it!! Thanks for all the previous input, super helpful on the decision making Edit: you’ll do great on the Ultra. Way too much preparation not to.
As a bigger runner the Nike invincible 3 is always my go to! I’ve tried different shoes and didn’t brands just to try something different and nothing has worked for me. I’ve tried Brooks Ghost Max 2, Novablast 4, Nimbus 26 etc
Ride 17 works better for the heavier runners. You just do not have enough weight to compress it ;) My weight ranged from 200 lbs (91 kg) to 185 lbs (84 kg) and I always felt compression and bounce in the Rides.
Loving the Onyx Drip! Their cafe at HQ in Rogers, Arkansas is incredible. If you're ever in the Ozarks, you gotta check it out. One of the most expensive coffee roasters around, so I often get their blends tho I'm usually a single origin guy all the way. Their Tropical Weather blend is straight fire.
I’m a big fan of the channel. Thanks for what you do and keep doing it. So far, not as big a fan of the Pro 4 as I’d hoped I would be. I feel the same way about the Speed 4. They’re both not as fun or lively to run in as previous versions. I’m loving the superior bounciness of the Hoka Mach X 2 for speedier efforts. Can you recommend a race shoe that has similar characteristics to the Mach X 2?
Thank you! And either the Cielo X1 or Rocket X2 from Hoka would be perfect. If you want more of a cushioned ride the Cielo and if you want streamlined and fast then the Pro 4
It's our third year getting it! Such a fun holiday tradition. I use the Chemex every morning. Would love to experiment with other methods but I stick to that bc it's so simple and reliable
There's quite a difference in tites for running..some restrict your stride and others just disappear when running..cos I run in tites 5 months of the year I have sorted out them into categories depending on how cold, windy it is and how fast I want to run..belago socks are good for cold weather..I use cheap knit gloves to start but I always end up with them in my pockets..my hands and feet usually get too hot so I under dress at the start knowing I will get too hot..it does help to start running on the treadmill to get warmed up before starting outside..
@supwell my favorite right now spyder from Dunhams..especially good when it's cold and windy..relatively cheap compared to the usual suspects..I race in them at every race that's around 30f..they don't restrict my legs..
@@supwell I hope to see the gara carbon at 1st. I bought it thanks to you at 170€ and smashed my pb. Insane shoe. For my stride it is superior to everything else on the market even if I still need to try metaspeed sky/edge paris.
I’ll do your winter running for you if you will do my summer runs for me… Some tights are constrictive at the hips (like my CwX), but some are not for me at least (WOLACO)

Love the pod idea boss
I love my EP3's so much, still have a pair I haven't ran in yet....wondering if the EP4 is worth trying or just sticking with what I know I love.
Same
I have 1 pair of the EP 3 with no miles on them and 2 pairs of the EP 2 in reserve, which I like even better. They are my favorite shoe for speed.

Pro 4 really shines when legs get tired and many a forefoot striker becomes a heel striker haha - Which is good for ultra running I guess
Get some gloves made with GORE Windstopper!

Sounds like it would be great for Fartleks
Are you going to go back and upload the podcast of that 27miler in the streakfly?? 😂

The casual Onyx Advent Calendar midway through. What're you brewing with?

There are still 3 slots left! I've only done the cloudboom strike at 5 and this at 4 - stay tuned 😉

Don't feel slower w under armor cold weather tights but I'm also not as fast as you haha
Why are these short reviews/videos? Can we get some longer/more detailed vids?
Didn't you come from like a thousand miles further north than where you are now? Cold?
lol i lost all of my massachusetts blood when i moved here in 2019
Always love a fresh banger badaBANG
Is this best race shoe ranked or just the overall best race shoes for 2024??
i'm going to do all of the top 5 and this one was ranked for me at 4 - cloudboom strike at 5! the rest coming soon
Young Viking Speedwind Coldtoes….
I found the Saucony Pro 4 disappointing compared to the pro 3. It lost its 'snappiness' or 'pop' like the 3 :(
Incredi-pun.
Podcast ready now?! Let’s gooo!
