I agree that commitment separates you from many people! But there are a few other things as well: a body that is incredibly tolerable of high mileage (not a given for most people). And a spouse that is incredibly tolerable and supportive of your high mileage (not a given for most people 😆). Don’t underestimate those two things! But they don’t take away from the work you put in. Keep grinding!

For reals? I didn't see anything about a Rocket X3 at TRE last week, so I assumed the line was nixed in favor of Cielo X1 2.0. I wonder why they didn't bring one to show. 🤔 Can't wait to see it.
I absolutely love the Rocket X2 and have been using it as my race shoe for everything up to half marathon distance over the past year. I’m planning on doing my first full marathon next year and am looking to get something more protective for that longer distance as I’ll be on my feet for about 3.5 - 4 hours. The Cielo X1 is my top choice at this stage, either the current model if I can get it for a good price, or the updated model in Feb next year. The updated model appears to have moved closer to the Rocket X2 in terms of weight, so it has the potential to make the perfect do-it-all race shoe, but the proof will be in the pudding as they say.
I know your not massive on strength training but i have been doing bw 90° box squats super setted with dumbbell stiff legged deadlifts then lunges after and it has changed my trail running my run starts with a 1.2 km 180 m elevation gain hill and i am crushing it like nothing after implementing that just twice a week
@@JDeezle21 Strength training always comes before endurance training! because the endurance training makes you weaker and so it increases the risk of injury. Also, you are not fresh, so it has a negative impact on quality and the load you can do of course. Doing endurance activities first and strength afterwards makes no sense at all, no matter the training/activity!
I’m currently a 22+min 5K runner and own the Rocket X2, Skyward, Cielo X1 and I love all of them. I prefer to use Cielo X1 on medium to long runs that involve some faster pace workouts. The rocket X2s feel great, with the right softness underfoot and yet you feel that it really propels you forward. I think I go at least 2-4 seconds faster per km in them for the same perceived effort. I also own the magic speed 3s and SC Elites 4 and the rocket X2 has lesser, but just right amount of cushioning when compared to the SC Elites.
I felt the bad shoe choice portion of this video. I took out VarporFly 3's on tired dead legs and man was that an awful experience when I couldn't pick up the pace. I love that shoe for moving quickly, but when I was slugging along it was a nightmare. No fault of the shoe, that was all shoe choice and my own mistake.

This is why I watch all your vids at entire length... There's always some sprinkles of knowledge sprinkled throughout, like when you say you can still make adaptations 10 days before race day. I'm currently in my taper and have tapered hard because of nagging pains, especially with my foot issues, but I still need to get some lightwork in leading uo to CIM and run more often during this taper at lower mileage.

Do you run first and then do this workout or do the workout and run afterwards?
