I agree. The movie actually shows Tom Holland working on the fluid in chemistry class. Tony commented on the tensile strength being off-the-charts. Andre Garfield stole the recipe from Osborne Industries. I would have given the plus to Tom Holland. That being said, Toby was my favorite.

In my opinion, the Raimi films are pretty much the best comic to screen versions of Spider-Man and its villains I think we’ve seen.
I love the idea of Garfield being the college aged Peter Parker who's still a dork but had small confidence in himself because hes been spiderman for so long, he got shafted by the script imo
Shafted by the studio* they tried, and failed, in putting all their eggs in one basket, trying to catch up to the MCU by making a Spiderman film which would lead into a sinister six film and stupid sexy aunt May prequels instead of just making a good Spiderman movie and building up from there naturally. Shame too, he was definitely better in the role than Tobey, in my eyes, and while I DO love Tom in the role, I wished we could have gotten at least a trilogy for Garfield. He was endearing, he was the sassy Spiderman I grew up with, and he ACTUALLY had chemistry with his costars. Sony did him dirty, and fired him not because the movie under performed but because he bad-mouthed the studio interference that kept the movie from being stellar. Good on him, and boo sony.

I think had Marc Webb and Andrew Garfield gotten in the MCU we’d be getting great Spider Man movies. Tom Hollands Spider-Man isn't completely comic accurate but in terms of the core values and characteristics of Spider-Man, Tom Holland really nails it. As Peter he's nerdy, awkward, smart and as Spider-Man he's full of quips which are very comic accurate and he's more confident behind the mask. And I like his journey of that he gets his suit made for him and gets over his head and over-relies on the tech but gets it taken off him and has to learn not to rely on everything Stark put in. But Far From Home has him making his own suit and webshooters and learning that he doesn't have to be like Iron Man and doesn't have to try living up to his legacy
I have a soft spot for Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man, despite all the flak he gets from his theatrical run. Though most of my love comes from the first Amazing Spider-Man than the sequel. I do hope that he get a fair shot in MCU Spider-Man 3. He's a great actor and can be well integrated with the MCU version 😀
I think Andrew’s one is great, I would say that I might find him most compelling as a character so far. I really liked both of those movies. I would like it if they were just able to make the Sony movies separate from Tom Holland’s Spider-Man since they seem to have a very different feel where I’d prefer it with Andrew Garfield continuation of his since I feel like it has the closest tone and think it’d be cool to have Andrew Garfield be at the Mentor point and have Miles Morales trained by him and later in the MCU have a multidimensional Avengers threat that involves that universe as well and have those universes merge in a way that it causes Miles Morales joining that universe kinda like in the comics.
I think the reason people (including me) give Garfield’s Spider-Man a hard rap is because he lacks that wallflower nature that the comic, Maguire and Holland versions of Peter Parker have. Garfield’s Spidey is as cool as a cucumber long before the spider bites him. As Spider-Man Garfield is great, but he never feels like a different person when he takes off the mask. It also doesn’t help the writing makes him a jerk and a stalker.
Has anyone read Ultimate Spider-Man, I think alot of people forget 616 Peter and Ult Peter were very popular and Garfield Peter is very much based on Ult Peter which is why he's so different. Casuals so fixated on old school Peter dont even think about Ult Peter's similar but also different origin and nature.

Thank you for mentioning the visuals of Mark Webb's films, especially in TASM 1 were fantastic, every frame looked like a comic panel put through a gritty but cool filter.
For me, it’s still Maguire. His films just handled the duo-identity perfectly, with Spider-Man’s life constantly affecting Peter’s and vice versa. At least you guys had valid criticisms of his quips, while some just love to pretend they weren’t there. Perhaps they didn’t work for you, but they always did for me. Peter has never been a stand up comedian. He just has a quick mouth.
He did the best he could with what he had. His movies being bad weren’t his fault it was the studio. Even though I like Holland the best I do think that Garfield was given the short end of the stick with his movies.

I'm going to be "that guy" for once here: Um... actualllllllly... the original suit in the comics was black and red but during the time, highlights to black areas of a costume in comics were shaded with dark blue. As time went by, the highlights, and subsequently, the black parts of the suit just kept getting coloured with lighter and lighter shades of blue.

Indeed, the same thing also happened with Batman. Originally his costume was gray and black with blue highlights, but over time the blues became more prominent to save on the ink. Eventually his costume just became gray and blue, and stayed like that on-and-off ever since.
Garfield has the quips for sure! Also the emotions, man that guy can act. He also had the best chemistry with a Spider-man love interest. God I hope these 3 come together for a movie, it will equal Endgame hype!

I like Tom the best because he like… embodies being a kid in that he’s both smart and dumb at the same time. He’s also awkward, but its funny watching it on screen, not just weird. Him and Zendaya have a good chemistry it seems to which is a plus.

Tom Holland didn't get a flashy creation scene like Garfield, but he should've gotten the point on Web Shooters. He made them himself from the ground up (webbing and all) before he met Iron Man, where as Garfield needed to get Oscorp's webbing to get anywhere.
My main problem with the quips in Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man is that he tells them where he shouldn't be telling them. Like when the Rhino is mowing down traffic and running over pedestrians, does Spider-Man save the civilians or tries to stop the truck? No, he just goes to the window to tell a couple of jokes. Even after he save Max Dillon, he just talks to him for nearly a minute while Rhino is still rampaging through the streets killing god knows how many.

You guys forgot best romance: Andrew Garfield. Say what you want about the movies, but dang, Andrew and Gwen Stacey were a fantastic couple onscreen and a joy to watch. This is how I've always seen it and explain it too. Also how I view the Batmans. Bale was the best Bruce Wayne and a great batman, and Pattinson was an amazing batman but a shitty Bruce Wayne, and ... Affleck is a good mix of both even tho I hate his batman lol.
The black and red Far From Home suit is a definite throwback to the OG Ditko design. Spidey's suit was originally red and black, with blue highlights on the black bits, which then evolved into blue with black shading. Like Batman.
One aspect of Spider-Man that they having covered yet with Tom Holland is him being a photographer. As far as I know we haven’t had any instances where Tom’s Peter has showed that he’s a photographer.
He's less a photographer, more of a film maker in the MCU. That updates his hobby very well, and he's not a creep that photographes girls from a far like a stalker anymore.

MCU Spidey is crazy strong even compared to comic Spidey, he wipes the floor with Falcon (who’s matched him in the comics) and Bucky as a rookie and he holds his own against Thanos and could pull the Gauntlet off his hand which is super hard. Comic Spidey has lifted a building and beat Firelord tho.
If you’re talking about him missing a web then you must be talking about him holding the boat together with his webs not by using his body which doesn’t count. When he does hold it he holds it for a couple seconds and if any more he would snap in half but good thing Iron man helped.

Tom Hollands Spider-Man isn't completely comic accurate but in terms of the core values and characteristics of Spider-Man, Tom Holland really nails it. As Peter he's nerdy, awkward, smart and as Spider-Man he's full of quips which are very comic accurate and he's more confident behind the mask. And I like his journey of that he gets his suit made for him and gets over his head and over-relies on the tech but gets it taken off him and has to learn not to rely on everything Stark put in. But Far From Home has him making his own suit and webshooters and learning that he doesn't have to be like Iron Man and doesn't have to try living up to his legacy
I have a soft spot for Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man, despite all the flak he gets from his theatrical run. Though most of my love comes from the first Amazing Spider-Man than the sequel. I do hope that he get a fair shot in MCU Spider-Man 3. He's a great actor and can be well integrated with the MCU version 😀
I think Andrew’s one is great, I would say that I might find him most compelling as a character so far. I really liked both of those movies. I would like it if they were just able to make the Sony movies separate from Tom Holland’s Spider-Man since they seem to have a very different feel where I’d prefer it with Andrew Garfield continuation of his since I feel like it has the closest tone and think it’d be cool to have Andrew Garfield be at the Mentor point and have Miles Morales trained by him and later in the MCU have a multidimensional Avengers threat that involves that universe as well and have those universes merge in a way that it causes Miles Morales joining that universe kinda like in the comics.
I think the reason people (including me) give Garfield’s Spider-Man a hard rap is because he lacks that wallflower nature that the comic, Maguire and Holland versions of Peter Parker have. Garfield’s Spidey is as cool as a cucumber long before the spider bites him.
As Spider-Man Garfield is great, but he never feels like a different person when he takes off the mask. It also doesn’t help the writing makes him a jerk and a stalker.
Has anyone read Ultimate Spider-Man, I think alot of people forget 616 Peter and Ult Peter were very popular and Garfield Peter is very much based on Ult Peter which is why he's so different. Casuals so fixated on old school Peter dont even think about Ult Peter's similar but also different origin and nature.

Thank you for mentioning the visuals of Mark Webb's films, especially in TASM 1 were fantastic, every frame looked like a comic panel put through a gritty but cool filter.
For me, it’s still Maguire. His films just handled the duo-identity perfectly, with Spider-Man’s life constantly affecting Peter’s and vice versa.
At least you guys had valid criticisms of his quips, while some just love to pretend they weren’t there. Perhaps they didn’t work for you, but they always did for me. Peter has never been a stand up comedian. He just has a quick mouth.
I think Andrew Garfield was too popular seeming, Tom is alright though, but it being the 3rd generation of Spiderman ruins it for me

Um... actualllllllly... the original suit in the comics was black and red but during the time, highlights to black areas of a costume in comics were shaded with dark blue. As time went by, the highlights, and subsequently, the black parts of the suit just kept getting coloured with lighter and lighter shades of blue.
Steve Ditko himself said it was always supposed to be blue but he didn't have enough blue ink for AF#15

Indeed, the same thing also happened with Batman. Originally his costume was gray and black with blue highlights, but over time the blues became more prominent to save on the ink. Eventually his costume just became gray and blue, and stayed like that on-and-off ever since.

I like Tom the best because he like… embodies being a kid in that he’s both smart and dumb at the same time. He’s also awkward, but its funny watching it on screen, not just weird. Him and Zendaya have a good chemistry it seems to which is a plus.

Tom Holland didn't get a flashy creation scene like Garfield, but he should've gotten the point on Web Shooters. He made them himself from the ground up (webbing and all) before he met Iron Man, where as Garfield needed to get Oscorp's webbing to get anywhere.
My main problem with the quips in Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man is that he tells them where he shouldn't be telling them.
Like when the Rhino is mowing down traffic and running over pedestrians, does Spider-Man save the civilians or tries to stop the truck? No, he just goes to the window to tell a couple of jokes.
Even after he save Max Dillon, he just talks to him for nearly a minute while Rhino is still rampaging through the streets killing god knows how many.

If you’re talking about him missing a web then you must be talking about him holding the boat together with his webs not by using his body which doesn’t count. When he does hold it he holds it for a couple seconds and if any more he would snap in half but good thing Iron man helped.
