- How to Add Printers to Chromebook the Easy Way!
There are many advantages of using a lightweight laptop like a Chromebook. Sure, they are somewhat different from Windows 10 laptops and MacBooks given their web-first roots. However, they can easily handle simple tasks just like the competition - even printing.
You can print from your Chromebook using most printers that connect to Wi-Fi or a wired network. Currently, Chromebooks don't support Bluetooth printing.
Tip: You can also use a USB cable to connect your printer to your Chromebook. When you use a cable, you'll see a notification. Follow any onscreen instructions. Your printer won’t need to be connected to Wi-Fi if it is directly connected to your Chromebook.
Pairing a printer with your Chromebook is fairly simple, but the method is slightly different. Here’s how to set up wired and wireless printers to print from a Chromebook.

While Google’s Chromebooks are all about online services, sometimes you need a good old-fashioned printout to accompany your digital adventures.
Printing from a Chromebook has gotten a lot easier over the years, but it still isn’t always obvious how to get started or which paths to embrace. Follow this guide, and you’ll be churning out paper from your cloud-centric computer in no time.
ADD A CURRENT WIRELESS PRINTER
Provided you have a reasonably recent printer that’s capable of connecting to the internet, you should be able to add it directly to your Chromebook without the need for supplementary services.
First, make sure the printer is on and connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer. The procedure for connecting a printer to Wi-Fi varies from one model to the next, but there’s generally a “Wi-Fi” or “internet” option somewhere on the printer’s display, either as an icon on the main screen or as an option in its settings menu. This should walk you through the process.
Chromebooks are a new type of computer designed to help you get things done faster and easier. They run Chrome OS, an operating system that has cloud storage, the best of Google built-in, and multiple layers of security.

Awesome. Now just explain how to find all that information...lol
Exactly!! Where do you find the printer address????
Right
Literally 😂
look at the printer it should have everything on it
My offnova printer does not have address on it. How else can i find it? Ir is no where on the printer or the instructions
My Lenovo Chromebook C330/S330 will not connect to my Canon MX492 printer. The printer model number is not listed as a choice.
HOW DO I FIND THE PRINTER ADDRESS
EXACLTY
where to get the printer address?
To find address and name of printer. You can find those by having your printer print out a “network status sheet”. It’ll show you “device name”. Then 3/4 down the sheet it’ll show you “IP address”. Use those two
Go to “settings” then “network settings” and it should give you the option to print it out
@@andrewmitchell3816 thank you so much! this helped a ton!
Where to find settings on printer when printer is not hooked up to computer???
Thank you so much man
you were the most helpful part of this video. Thank you.
At Google, we make everything hard.
😂😅🤣🤗👍
yup lol
yes they do
Thanks for this video. I have a Canon Pixma MG2522. It has a USB cord. Will the Acer Chromebook 311 connect with it if I plug in the USB cord to it?
Did you get it going? I have the same printer and acer laptop
@@jayvila1337 did you all get it because im stuck
Need to know where to get the printer information required to type in the blank spots. Thank you for your effort.
if this is the easy way im scared to know the hard way

Where do I get the printer address?
Thank you and Happy New Year ✨🌸🌺
Same to you!
THank you it worked 😊
You're welcome!
We can't add a wotrd non wifi printer ? Correct ??
Everything about this printer has been a pain. Out of all the models, the MG2500 is not compatible to automatically setup on my Chromebook. In order to do the advanced setup, I need the IPP, or where do I find the server address? I've had printers before in the past and never had this much headache. Also, these videos are not any help. The creator never responds. Most of them were done years ago. If anyone can help answer my questions I would appreciate it.
I am having the same issue ..what happened to the days when you could just plug your printer in and just get to printing.
Thanks!
Glad to help, and thanks for the support!
how do u find the address of the printer? i have a canon one
ikr
Go to settings on your Canon printer and go down all the way to machine information
I found the address on my HP laser jet 4250 but it won’t display it. Please help.
THANK YOU SO MUXH
Glad it helped
My Canon LBP7100Cn was just not in the list of canon models I could add, so I couldn't add it >.< See, on a windows machine you just manually download the damn drivers. Where's the drivers for crhomeOS?
It keeps saying I cannot connect my Chromebook to my new Canon Pixma MG 2520 because of the OS. What can I do?
i have the MG2522, and Chrome doesn't support it either! :(
i thought i had to update it, and it still doesn't support it. We might as well just buy a new printer.
you can try to bug it out, but im sure the same result will happen.
You have to have a printer that is compatible with Chromebook. The Pixama Canon MG 3620 three in one is compatible.
@@kitvargas142 Thats what i have but i cant connect it either bc I can’t answer any of those questions for address… HOW can you do a tutorial video and leave out the most important part dude lol
I have the same printer did you know where to find the address
How do you even find the printer address? I have a Canon pixma mg2522.
Same
Did you figure it out?
@@-Agent_47_ lol nope I never figured it out. I just got a different printer that is wireless. Lol
Utterly unhelpful video. If I had the IT skills to understand the terminology in this video, I wouldn't need this video
Menu different to my chromebook.
Thank you, my printer HP is finally connected on my Chromebook in few seconds. In France chromebook are not yet common.👍
I have a other problem with my external webcam Aukey USB, my first Chromebook CB5-312T no problem but my other recent Chromebook CB 315-3HT 64bits does not recognize the webcam, if i buy an adapter USB C to USB 3.0 OTG it's possible to resolve the problem ?
What kind of explanation is this. Showing where to find the printer settings everybody do this. Show us how to actually connect a real printer trough LAN and WiFi connection.
Thank you Sir, Quick and helpful presentation 😎👍
Glad it was helpful!
I have no idea how to answer questions that appear after I click "add printer."
same
1:05 Once you get here; Name: type any name you would like. Address: type your printers IP address. To find your printers IP address you might have to search on your printer for Network Summary mine was in IPv4 Address, yours might look different?
Considering there's a lot more to setting up printers, it would be great if these videos actually went through the different nuances. As an IT professional myself that's in the Office Equipment arena, there's a lot more to setting up more sophisticated equipment than simply typing in the main features...
For an example, I am an authorized Xerox dealer, and you can't just walk through and set up a Xerox machine using the basics from Chromebook.
How is that easy??? Any chance of an explanation of everything you just said???
Thank you very much i connected my printer via usb to my chromebook and it was very easy 😁following your awesome video. Thank you.
Glad it helped!
Can you help me? I enter printer name and Model and still not able to print from my chrome book. I also entered IP addy, nothing :(

How do I know what my address is 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️

Chromebooks are garbage. They make everything harder.
Sounds like made up bs to me.
No lie. Just take your Chromebook back and get a refund. It's trash -- stop being cheap and get a windows laptop.
Thanks!
You bet! Thanks for the support.
