This video was a life saver putting Capri Awning up for 1st time 1 hour before it was dark! instructions given with the tent are useless, am confident it will go up much faster next time, had torrential rain storm not a drop of water came in fabulous awning.
Really good informative video that installs confidence in erecting an awning. Much better than reading an instruction manual. I can't wait to get out there and set mine up. Thank you very much.
Just bought a Capri North and looking forward to matching it with our Swift Super Quattro when our seasonal pitch opens in April. This video is really helpful and don't see why I won't still be married after we've put the awning up. Thank you, I'll have the laptop at the ready when we start!!
Hi I've recently bought an Issabella capri, when the gentleman says the left and right are marked.. would the pole marked left be the left side of the caravan if you were facing the caravan or left if you were facing away? Thanks
Excellent and really well presented. Having been (when the kids were young - years ago!) trailer tenters, putting the awning up looks fairly straightforward? As with the trailer tent, I will not be doing it with my wife as divorce may be the result! When you first put in the roof pole clamps, are you estimating the mid points in the first instance? And, as a newbie, how long do you think it might take to erect our Capri North?
You will see that there are multiple seams in the "ceiling" use these as a guide. perhaps tracing one back from the centre pole position at the front of the awning, or just use the wheel(s) as a guide. Our old van has some nice dents in the side (from a previous owner) which mark the locations nicely!
I'd allow at least 2 hours for a stress free erection! but you will need a second pair of hands to get the canvas threaded into the awning channel. I recommend the Caravan Talk website/forum as a wealth of information on most queries you will have.
The centre roof bracket and pole will wither be on the middle seam or in the middle of the 2 seams depending on the size of the awning. Usually it will be directly on the middle seam. As a newbie, the awning time could take an hour +, however, this will be reduced the more times you set the awning up and could get it down to 20 minutes or less from start to complete finish.
Unfortunately this is not possible as this is a full awning and not freestanding . Maybe have a look at the Freestander www.isabella.net/uk/motorhomes/details/ventura-freestander-cumulus.
We have a Capri North. It has intermediate vertical poles on the front. How does the veranda pole work in this instance because the front of the awning cannot fold down over the vertical pole?
Thank you for your comment. The veranda pole can be attached either infront or behind the intermediate leg, just by moving it out a fraction. Then, the material can be folded over the veranda pole and in between the intermediate leg support. This allows you to still get the ventilation.
@@richardfromcornwall5492 “ Unfortunately we don’t have a photo available at present. It is possible to still use the veranda bar with an intermediate leg, by lowering the material over the veranda bar and the intermediate support . If you would like to call, we can talk you through it.” Tel.: 01844 20 2099
Apologies but I have another question! I have erected my Capri North with the help of my son-in-laws as well as an annexe. However, having removed the end panel, I now find it darned near impossible to get the panel back in? The zips seem all 'to cock'? Any suggestions? Also, as I look at the annexe, the bottom left, next to the caravan, the ground falls away a little so I've had to put extensions to the elastic in order to peg but this leaves a gap between caravan and awning/annexe? Any suggestions? Apologies for the lengthy question
This does seem strange on the annex, because you have got the tension onto the awning and annex, they can be difficult be should still line up. We tent to release the awning from the pegging points to give more movement, then should be easier to line the zips up and zip the panel back in. We can happily talk your through this if you would like to give us a call. With the ground running away, this can happen unfortunately, some sites will be worse than others, but you have done the right thing adding extensions.
Only took us 4 hours with 4 people!! Granted, my fiancée was playing with snails for some of it and we had sandwiches at one point. Blimey does it get hot in there!
We cross the rubbers over to create more tension onto the panels. Also, if when opening a door on the awning, we may angle a pegging point to again create tension onto the panel. Sorry for late answer. And thank you for answer help.
Great materials, very well made but come on what a faff, you could build a shed in the time it takes to put this up. You need some new thinking here on awning construction.
Thanks for the comment. We only actually peg the doors that are not in constant use. We don't cross peg the door you choose for going in and out of the awning :)

This has changed my life for the better ❤ caravaning!

Left and right as you look at it or in it ? :)
Hi Paul.
Left and right as you look at it..
Is it possible to rig it to attach to a Transit 4x4 van, I really like this.
Unfortunately this is not possible as this is a full awning and not freestanding . Maybe have a look at the Freestander www.isabella.net/uk/motorhomes/details/ventura-freestander-cumulus.
Thank you so much, I need to purchase flooring for my capri coal awning, could you tell me the floor dimensions/size please. Thanks.
We can check if you contact us with the size of your awning. www.isabella.net/uk/about-us/contact

IsabellaCamping Call me thick if you like but I'm afraid I don't understand? Is there any chance you might send a brief video or photograph please?

hi have just bought the same one .are they steel poles you are using and if not is it the same way to put up thanks 😃
Oh, one more question! Why do you cross the peg rubbers at the doors?
To stop the force of the wind opening the zip?
AllAboutChalford Thank you. Would you take a look at my other question please?

Thank you for the kind words. Maybe you could be interested in an air awning, for an easier construction? www.isabella.net/uk/air-awnings
You guys need a new lav mic 😊
You won't be able to open the doors cos you've pegged it ha ha ha
