Thank you for doing these vids on the EQ 2 classes. No one else has any thing for the classes really, definitely a good that needed filling.

I tryed out a coercer and they are pretty fun, I just wish having a charmed enemy they would hold aggro or use abilities. I know it's just a cc but beside that it's almost pointless.

Yeah - absolutely - CC is not as glorious as in EQ1

They are one of the hardest classes to play

Power regen is very noticeable when just farming group content for XP and for raids even in T5 there is already fights where you def want it running. In combat power regen is capped at level * 1.5 every 6 seconds with half coming from your stats and the other 50% from group buffs. You will notice very quickly that your power bar goes low if you group without a bard or chanter. You also missed two of the biggest damage abiities for illusionist. Theorems and Prismatic Chaos, the latter one you want to rotate on two different scouts preferable or fighter. Alternatively a summoner melee pet or last resort a sorcerer. I thought the two damage abilities would be worth mentioning in your guide too as its two kinda unique abilities in the game and the Prismatic Chaos you put on other players, will count as your personal DPS.
For Coercer, they can use a pet using the "charm" ability at level 10. This is mostly useful for solo and group content, but some raids have mobs you can charm and use. The risk with charm is obviously when it breaks you need to be quick at mezzing it and recharming, especially if its a high level pet.
Both Enchanter AA's got changed last year (at least on live at level 120+) so brainclot is to my knowledge only a thing on illusionist nightmare DoT and only something to worry about when the class AA tree unlocks. You want the dots to tick for full duration, but with the change overriding them isnt the worst thing in the world any longer.

Awesome review! Thanks for the callouts on those abilities. I know little about enchanter as it's one of the one classes I never really played.

No pressure, but any plans to make content on how to excel at these classes?
I'm only level 22, illusionist, but finding that it's not what I expected (aka, folks are claiming mezz/cc isn't all it's cracked up to be and I'm essentially a nerfed mage).

While the CC elements of Illusionist are not what they are in terms of EQ1 enchanter, they are an outstanding class. You can do great DPS on an illusionist while providing amazing buffs to the group as well as Manatap and so many other great utility spells. You aren't going to be doing the damage of a necromancer, but you will be doing quite a bit of damage while also providing great utility and support. If you want to be a top DPS, may be better to roll a sorcerer or summoner.
In terms of rotation type videos, yeah I can do something for that in the future! Great suggestion.

    De hate = drops aggro?

Unfortunately the game has greatly diminished the importance of enchanters. Crowd control was critical in EQ1 but does not exist in EQ2. As long as you're okay with that then go have fun.

Good video...but, playing the Coercer is so sad. Daybreak destroyed Charm. It's literally ruined.

Possess essence comes in a few expansions. But yeah charm is not like eq1 at all!

@@bear.necessities Yea, it's not even like EQ2 before they changed (ruined) it. Not being able to hold any type of agro with a charmed mob that also loses all innate abilities to become just a basic melee creature...that's devastating and sad.

not to throw shade but is there really any reason to play a coercer on tle servers? illusionist on paper seems way more useful for lowerlevel tle groups

Coercers become the beasts of mana feeding later. Early on, illys are quite a lot better.
