    So if I plan on never grouping and leveling up from 1 and trying to see everything the game offers at least as much as I can, give me 3 or 4 classes in order of most solo efficiency you recommend? Including old raids. Based on your video, I'm gonna say Necro, monk, SK and possibly Ranger? What is your take?

    • @legendarybloodlines
      @legendarybloodlines  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Thats basically correct. Sk will be the best for that especially since you can feign death in plate. Necro is much faster but you'll die alot more. Monk is an amazing class and you trade the plate of sk for stuns and mobility. Monk has the best feign death in the game and can even group feign death. You want the most hardy go for sk. You want speed go for necro. You want a combo of both go monk.

    • @SpartanWarrior76

      @legendarybloodlines Thanks I appreciate it. I have all 3 classes actually but none are above level 30. I have a 61 Fury i played alot few years ago before quitting and enjoyed that one too.

    • @SpartanWarrior76
      @SpartanWarrior76 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Also one last question. I really like Aoeing. Efficiently I might add. So I take it the Sk would probably be the best in that category too correct?

    • @legendarybloodlines
      @legendarybloodlines  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SpartanWarrior76 the sk and monk both have a ton of aoes. The monk has alot of aoe stuns. You'll have so many buffs as a monk or sk you'll need a whole bar just for your buffs lol. Fun classes. Fury is great too I had a max level fury for years. But when I tried a warden I never went back to fury.

      @SpartanWarrior76 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @legendarybloodlines yea I keep hearing about Fury. Well at least I can betray my Fury to try someday. So not the end of the world. Ok thank you for heads up.

    I decided to download this game again. I haven't played in probably 10 years. I stumbled across this video and was very impressed with how you presented each class. You could tell you were describing the classes from the lenses of "play what you want and enjoy" but keep this in mind also. Love how you put it together. Anyways, glad to be back, I'm going to sub and check out some of your other vids while the game downloads. Cheers

    If you solo, or rather molo (solo with a merc), there is hardly any difference between classes. It breaks down to what graphics you like.
    First, on LIVE, with a merc, you can almost 1 shot most mobs, regardless of level. As long as they don't one shot you or the mobs are too high, you'll do okay. For example, my 43 bruiser just (like 10 seconds ago) wandered into Unrest and was attacked by two level 72 mobs and survived the run to the zone.
    The only thing that matters is that you push the buttons when they are not grey to do damage. I've NEVER had to use Feign Death on my monks or bruisers, ever, on LIVE. The fights are too short.
    Second, again, on LIVE, death has elaborately no meaning. If you die, you get a death exp penalty that you have to pay back. It's not a lot and you will easily get it back within a few kills.
    Third, no fight lasts long on LIVE servers. None. Root does nothing, as the mob dies too quickly for that to matter. DoTs don't matter, the fight doesn't last long enough for the damage to matter.
    Fourth, on LIVE you will NOT find groups until level 130 (as of July 2024, with the latest expansion). I've paid for a subscription for the last 3 years and the ONLY groups I have found have been on the recent Origins server. On LIVE, I have not had one group. Ever.
    Fifth, on LIVE, you will be WAAAAAY behind the curve if you want to raid and haven't been playing forever or you're not willing to pay a lot of real-life money. The top raiders, let alone the top tier of raiders, have been a part of the game for 2 decades!
    EQ2 Origins could be fun, but it's gimped by a half-ass attempt to recapture 2004/2006-ish, but with corporate greed running it. At least it's not a gimme' like LIVE is, but it's completely, 180 degrees opposite in that it's too tough

    Back in the day, Coercer was my main. I must have been one of the most in demand classes in the game after awhile…i remember just being the man because of the agro shifting abilities. But when AAs came out, and I went fully down chronomancy, I sought out all the damage proc and mana regen proc gear, starting with sheldraks dagger, and became one of the highest dps parsing toons in the server, while being able to stunlock/mezz adds, while providing mana regen, while making sure the tank retained all the agro (thoughtsnap, anyone?). Glorious days, those.

    I know you said monk and shadow knight were your favorite. But from your personal opinion playing in a traditional server mostly played solo hardly grouping. Which would you play mostly played outdoors and some dungeons? Monks OR Shadow Knight? Thanks Legendary!

    • @legendarybloodlines
      @legendarybloodlines  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Both will be good its basically your flavor choice... plate and spells and lifetap or leather and stuns and self heals... they play very different as the monknis more finesse and the sk more a bully. They are both great for outdoor and dungeon play. You can get so good with a monk and sk you can do most heritage quests solo.

      @@legendarybloodlines Thanks for getting back to me. I really appreciate you indept knowledge it really helped me out to pick a class. Since I use to play EQ1 for almost 8 years or so? Playing EQ2 is so much different and very easy by comparison. But it is a very fun game.
      Started with a Troll defiler, they are fun but not my style I think I will try out the Monk, thanks once again.!

    I went back to EQ1 and had a great time going from 1-110ish, at that point mercenaries started to be ineffective. I tried boxing a full group and did so for a while but kinda burned out negotiating six accounts.
    Question: does EQ2 truly allow a monk or SK to solo with a mercenary to whatever max level is or is it more like EQ1 where it’s pretty good but not okay once you get toward max level.?

    • @legendarybloodlines
      @legendarybloodlines  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Basically, yes... But you'll never solo raid content in eq2 unless you're doing something funky or waaaaay overleveled... Try soloing the heritage quest for the light stone in commonlands. With any class under level 100 it's virtually impossible

      @@legendarybloodlines Since this comment I've played a few classes to low levels to get familiar with the game. I enjoyed the Ranger quite a bit. I also used a lvl 125 boost for an SK and have had fun soloing through the first level worth of the signature quest line for the current expansion. SK is incredibly good.

  • @CrimsonNightsGaming
    @CrimsonNightsGaming 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Overall helpful information if not a little outdated. Like has been said before in other comments most classes are neutral as of August 18, 2010, in GU 57. With the alignment based being Pally/SK for Fighter, Swashy/Brig for Scout, Conjy/Necro for mage, and Mystic/ Defiler for Priest. Also, I would like to point out that at this point all of the classes are free to play and a little annoyed that you skipped over in my Opinion one of the best classes in the game being Channeler, but included info about the Beastlord, which was also a class added later on by the way. Overall, very helpful but please get the facts right, and as another creator in the Niche I hope to see you grow and flourish the game really is under rated and deserves more credit in the genre😄

      I have a level of 130 Guardian with ok gear, all group gear, some good , about 9720 resolve which you have to have to be able to hit things, and survive
      Guardians are rarely played these days, they are amazing tanks at 130 but almost no DPS, but they do have heals now with some AAs and Ascensions spells (extra spells on top of your class)
      At 130, I hold aggro with Reinforcement and my force taunts from Guardian epic 2.0 and some AA....my Templar does more DPS than my Guardian that's geared nearly identical

    There's some good info in this video, and I hate to be that guy, but you missed out on something big here - every Archetype has always had one Neutral Class.
    Fighters -> Warriors -> Both Guardian and Berserker have always been Neutral (can play as good or evil)
    Scouts -> Bards -> Troubadours and Dirges are Neutral. Priests -> Druids -> Warden and Fury are Neutral, and Mage -> Wizards/Warlocks are Neutral
    These classes have been neutral since launch. Later in the game's life, they made even more classes into neutral classes. In Origins, these will be neutral classes.
    I want to expand a little bit more too on a few
    Wizards are a little more Single Target Direct Damage based, Warlocks have a little more AoE and use more Damage over time spells.
    Warden is generally more defensive while Fury is generally more offense (which is basically what he said).
    Monk is also more defensive and monk skills do a little less damage but have lower cooldown where Bruiser is more offensive and bigger burst/single hits.
    Brigand generally makes the group do more damage to the mob where Swashbucklers can reduce the damage output of mobs a bit better.
    Dirges have better melee buffs and tank buffs where troubadours have better caster buffs, but they both buff everyone at least some.

    Thanks for the great video, one more question. I’ve never played EQ2 but EQ1 monk was my favorite from 20 years ago. What I found with monk at level 110 plus was that they were not viable solo and they weren’t optimal in a group. SK was better in every way. Does EQ2 give monk a better high level experience?

I've started a character on an origins server and that's fun cause I actually have to try(still not to crazy hard or easy). That's one thing eq and eq2 are famous for... class and race choices. I have literally made one of everything over the years. For eq1 its human bc of reputation and usually a pet class. For eq2 its either half elf or wood elf for good alignment or half elf dark elf for bad. I think monk and sk are so far ahead in eq2 for solo tho its kinda ridiculous. Feign death is key.
