    In three years, I went from having absolutely no experience in 3D Animation to working at DreamWorks Animation Studios teaching just about all of the 3D software used to make movies! After 2 years there, I left to try freelance / independent content creation on TH-cam for awhile, before I head back to Feature Film!
    This is my journey- the entire process from when I decided I wanted to be an animator until I eventually get there, and everything along the way that will make it possible.
    Whether you're chasing a similar dream, or just interested to see where mine takes me, subscribe to follow along with the incredible journey that it takes to become an animator!
    You will not be disappointed.

      "Be smart about the planning stage: not all tasks take the same time to complete". Great talk, Guillermo!

    1: Get A Calendar
    2: Not all stages are equal in animation: spend the most time blocking and planning
    3: Get to know you tools more (learn hot keys and shortcuts)
    4: Know your limitations (don’t be afraid to pass of work to other people or say no)
    5: Set daily goals of what you want to get done

    4:45 “The less you are improvising as you go along.” YES! This right here! I’m an animation student and I definitely learned this the hard way/towards the end of this semester while working on my film. I noticed that if I spent more time on preproduction especially the story boarding/animatic part, I wouldn’t have to improvise so much on my film. Thank you for posting these interviews, and I’ll be sure to check out the rest!

    P.s. why do we all suffer so much in those crunch days? I'm a 1 man team and I always end up working OT and pounding energy drinks to stay functional 😅😅 this may be topic for another video.

    Hi Sir Wade, this is great to see people from the studio itself and talking about so many useful thing which we know but never think about. I am learning so many things from this channel since I have subscribed. The question about the universities or the studio is the important question for me and I can relate to it as well.
    FYI I am going to use your technique for interview in my interview(using FK and IK) if you allow me to ;P..
    Thanks for the learning.
    Love from India.

    Hey Wade. I'm new to the whole animation thing. I am thinking of changing my minor to animation with a major in MIS and software development. Anyways, I am a self taught music producer of 10 years and have worked with a few multi-platinum recording artists. Mostly in rap and pop/edm. If you ever need some music for anything, like your channel or some animations you make, anything, I can help out. All copyright free. I make pretty much any genre. I've played the guitar for 25 years and piano for 20 years. So I can record live music as well (i have a dedicated studio at home). Anyways, let me know if you're ever interested. I know there are a ton of places to get non copyrighted music. But, alot of it is looped, generic, or, used on every channel in the world lol. Anyways, great video. I've just found your channel and it is very informative and entertaining!

    Good stuff, Wade. Thanks for putting this together! May I respectfully suggest a high-pass filter on your dialog at 120hz. Cheers!

    • @SirWade
      @SirWade  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm still learning audio, what does that do? :) Is that to help with the room noise-fuzz?

    • @cessers
      @cessers 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In this case it would reduce the bassy air conditioning rumble. Again: great content regardless! Did you animate the lower thirds yourself? They're expressive and fun!

    Long story short - when I miss a deadline I move the deadline myself to the next day... then to the next day... to the next day- until its done! Thats not a time management technique.
    Sounds like a lot of time wasted when you could just be doing it.
