If daddy is busy take bus take train or take taxi.

From what I heard too, the driver customised his newly bought M4 coupe and injected methanol, which is highly flammable. Even if the crash happened without the methanol, there will still be a higher chance of death due to the speed of the M4 coupe which was speed around 220.3 kmh in a small and narrow road. The impact would've caused the death.

Some say its drunk driving, some say its racing, some say the car is faulty or it could also be that there's sudden health issues that impeded the driver's ability to control the car. Or it could also be other possibilities like passenger influences or whatnot. Just wait for the investigation to be over. Lives are already lost, don't jump to the conclusion when people are mourning the lost of their loved ones.
The lucky part is not because of CNY holiday, as they purposely chose CNY holiday when all shops were closed to perform car speeding. The actual lucky part is no other innocent people around to get involved.

There is nothing wrong with the M4. There is nothing wrong with the road. But this road is certainly not designed for ~200kmph speeds. According to my younger sister whose colleague 's friend is a specialist in BMW cars, this BMW car is a second-hand car but it won't explode easily even when it crashed into a wall. Even if this is the case, the driver and passengers will be able to escape through one of the car doors, so it is suspected that illegal modifications have been done to the BMW car or else it won't explode or catch fire easily. This is what my younger sister has told me about what her colleague has told her.
Its all a marketing gimmick by BMW and the likes. Notice tbat the blaze/explosion was not on impact. If the impact damages any part of the fuel line which is under the car, its carpow*&%^#. With heavy electronics and massive wiring, electrical fire is not impossible. Many other possibilities if its not a straight forward vehicle-still-upright-on-road collision.

Driving in Singapore is getting out of control. We need to start a petition and have stronger law enforcement. I often see cars racing well over the speed limit at night and almost had a few drive into me when crossing the road.
In my own district, a few motorcars and motorbikes love to rev their engine very noisily near to midnight and sometimes after midnight. I don't know why I seldom hear it until now after Tanjong Pagar's tragic accident? Are they so worried, temporarily or permanently?
Please let this be a lesson to everyone to drive safely and not speed. This is also a reminder to myself. I admit i enjoy speeding on the road while driving as well but the risk is just not worth it. You endanger not only your own life but the others around you who share the same road.

In my much younger days, I too was guilty of fast driving in my modified BMW M5. Not much later, I was blessed with a divine nudge to stop my dangerous ways when my Porsche Boxster lost rear traction and slid down a 15' deep trench along the road. The car suffered only cosmetic damage and thankfully I was not injured. When the police arrived and wrote up a speeding ticket, he asked if I wanted to accept the ticket or not. I acknowledged my wrongdoing and told the officer that not only will I accept the ticket, I will also make a copy and frame it as a reminder not to drive fast ever again. Sad to hear the five young men in that burning car passed away. No judgement from me on what they had done, because I too was once in their shoes, with the immaturity of not knowing any better. This wonderful life we each live is full of lessons to be learned, and hopefully we could realize the lessons and make improvements to better ourselves, gaining higher wisdom and maturity in the process. It was 1997 in KL. 3 cars loaded with 19/20 yr olds in party spirits after a 2am supper were speeding downhill Bangsar. The 1st car, a BMW, spun out of control at the sharp left turn to PJ hit curb + wall + overturned. The other 2 cars rushed to help the 4 trapped inside but due to the explosion/intense fire, they could only helplessly watched them burned alive inside the car. The driver tried to crawl out of his window but did not make it. At the funeral wake, it was heart wrenching to see them sobbing hysterically + some fainted when the trauma was unbearable. Let these incidents be a grim reminder to all us.

One of the victim run a korean restaurant in the area and seem like they have bunch of friends hanging out at the restaurant, then suddenly the 5 victims get into the car and drove off for some reason might be showing off his modded BMW or driver is drunk (not sure how you can get drunk from an korean restaurant). After the crash, one of the 26 year old female who is the fiancee/girlfriend to the driver tried to open the car door in flame to save her man, but got burned really badly like 80% of her body so either she heard the loud crash from the restaurant then run to the site or she is with the group of friends outside fliming and watching the speed show.

There is nothing wrong with the M4. There is nothing wrong with the road. But this road is certainly not designed for ~200kmph speeds. The Traffic Police should start tightening enforcement on speeding and drink driving. Long suspensions, jail and caning should be made mandatory in order to keep our roads safe.

According to my younger sister whose colleague 's friend is a specialist in BMW cars, this BMW car is a second-hand car but it won't explode easily even when it crashed into a wall. Even if this is the case, the driver and passengers will be able to escape through one of the car doors, so it is suspected that illegal modifications have been done to the BMW car or else it won't explode or catch fire easily. This is what my younger sister has told me about what her colleague has told her.
Its all a marketing gimmick by BMW and the likes. Notice tbat the blaze/explosion was not on impact. If the impact damages any part of the fuel line which is under the car, its carpow*&%^#. With heavy electronics and massive wiring, electrical fire is not impossible. Many other possibilities if its not a straight forward vehicle-still-upright-on-road collision.

Driving in Singapore is getting out of control. We need to start a petition and have stronger law enforcement. I often see cars racing well over the speed limit at night and almost had a few drive into me when crossing the road.

Please let this be a lesson to everyone to drive safely and not speed. This is also a reminder to myself. I admit i enjoy speeding on the road while driving as well but the risk is just not worth it. You endanger not only your own life but the others around you who share the same road.

2) Witnesses say they already speeding and made 2-3 rounds around the same road prior to the crash. Don't believe.
3) Video clip showing them speeding on a narrow road at 197KM/hr (According to a redditor who did the math judging via distance of the road, how many seconds it took before the crash, and area of crash site etc). Don't believe.
4) Driver endangering the lives of his passengers and bystanders. Could have very well killed someone crossing the road. Don't believe.
5) Driver literally crashed the car at full speed making it burst into flames, while his passengers were in the car.

In my much younger days, I too was guilty of fast driving in my modified BMW M5. Not much later, I was blessed with a divine nudge to stop my dangerous ways when my Porsche Boxster lost rear traction and slid down a 15' deep trench along the road. The car suffered only cosmetic damage and thankfully I was not injured. When the police arrived and wrote up a speeding ticket, he asked if I wanted to accept the ticket or not. I acknowledged my wrongdoing and told the officer that not only will I accept the ticket, I will also make a copy and frame it as a reminder not to drive fast ever again.
Sad to hear the five young men in that burning car passed away. No judgement from me on what they had done, because I too was once in their shoes, with the immaturity of not knowing any better. This wonderful life we each live is full of lessons to be learned, and hopefully we could realize the lessons and make improvements to better ourselves, gaining higher wisdom and maturity in the process.

It was 1997 in KL. 3 cars loaded with 19/20 yr olds in party spirits after a 2am supper were speeding downhill Bangsar. The 1st car, a BMW, spun out of control at the sharp left turn to PJ hit curb + wall + overturned. The other 2 cars rushed to help the 4 trapped inside but due to the explosion/intense fire, they could only helplessly watched them burned alive inside the car. The driver tried to crawl out of his window but did not make it. At the funeral wake, it was heart wrenching to see them sobbing hysterically + some fainted when the trauma was unbearable.
Let these incidents be a grim reminder to all us.

One of the victim run a korean restaurant in the area and seem like they have bunch of friends hanging out at the restaurant, then suddenly the 5 victims get into the car and drove off for some reason might be showing off his modded BMW or driver is drunk (not sure how you can get drunk from an korean restaurant). After the crash, one of the 26 year old female who is the fiancee/girlfriend to the driver tried to open the car door in flame to save her man, but got burned really badly like 80% of her body so either she heard the loud crash from the restaurant then run to the site or she is with the group of friends outside fliming and watching the speed show.
