He was alive during the Krogan rebellion 700-800 CE, because he says himself "right after the war (the rebellions)" he was forced to kill his father and leave Tuchunka. So really quick let's put this into perspective, the year of ME3 is 2186 CE, this knowledge already puts him at least between 1386-1486 years old, older than any asari by far.

Since Grunt is bred to be perfect, I imagine he is stronger, tougher and faster than Wrex. However, as someone stated in the comments below, the experience gap between them is way too large. I imagine Wrex would win; but if Grunt managed to overpower him, it'd be Grunt's.

Examples-- in Mass Effect 3, during Priority: Tuchanka, Wrex headbutts Wreav when the latter is asking why they should trust Mordin, (responding that Wreav should trust Mordin because Wrex does-- Wreav was questioning Wrex's authority as clan leader in questioning Mordin's presence, thus Wrex was reminding Wreav of his place), and in Mass Effect 2, if the player takes the Renegade interrupt, *Shepard* can headbutt Gatatog Uvenk to shut him up when he starts trash talking Grunt (ironically, the interrupt comes right after Uvenk starts with 'Aliens don't know strength!')-- this leads the krogan shaman (who is present to see all this) to laugh and say 'I like this human! S/he understands!' Shepard was asserting his/her dominance over Uvenk by telling him to shut the f**k up! about Grunt. Basically, in krogan society, its a way of stating who is the bigger badass and asserting the claim-- hence why Grunt and Wrex are doing it to each other here (each one thinks he's the strongest, so they're trying to impress it on the other; although admittedly, its more good natured here than in the other examples). Chris Bowman Grunt is a guy made from best genes of many clans. During the battle he could learn the fighting style of the oponent very quickly. Wrex can win because of his extreme experience, but i'm not entirely sure. That confrontation would be a very long, spectacular and epic battle no doubt. Grunt is a gifted rookie but Wrex is a true master. You don't survive 900 years of non stop fighting OR lead the most savage race in the galaxy without being the best of the best. Grunt could definitely one day surpass Wrex since he is the most genetically perfect Krogan ever, but Wrex is the one with experience and talent.
If wrex and grunt headbutted at the same time, a small black hole (about 7 feet in diameter) would form, leading straight to our current universe, but it would take us to a point further into the future, after the reapers Damn shame there's no DLC of it yet
So just by reaction Grunt lost the raw "BANG" aspect of this contest, as wrex nearly knocked him to the floor. This makes sense, not only is wrex much older, but given that grunt is maybe a few years old tops, and a near mature krogan, a race that is said to live 1000+ years, being made to be the best krogan still takes the time to mature and fight your way to that point. I'd just like to point out that if you do the math, Wrex is over a thousand years old (active on the tail end of, or soon after, the rebellions). Being imprinted with mass amounts of knowledge doesn't make up for a millenium of down-in-the-trenches combat experience, and whether or not Grunt is younger, Wrex is still perfectly healthy, so that's not really a handicap either.

Wrex has years of real world experience and the advantage of being at the top of the social structure, Grunt has the advantage of being tank bred and given proper nutrition that Wrex may have lacked in his early years and being genetically engineered to tend towards the stronger side of the krogan build. it's a good question.
Grunt and Wrex are both boss. You're looking at the present and future leaders of Clan Urdnot. Grunt may not have all the accolades and great stories to tell that Wrex has, but he's just barely getting started. By the time they're both dead, my guess is that Grunt will be on par with Wrex in nearly every way. Their personalities are both on par right now. Picking which one I like better is like picking which testicle I like better. I think I'll take them both, thanks.
Ok so normally I have a favorite in a situation like this but I'm stumped on this fight. Grunt is the Caption America of Krogen he's faster, stronger and heals faster then Wrex and has memories from Krogen warlords but Wrex is AT LEAST 800 years, may be a better fighter and is biotic soooooo ya no clue they would probably leveled that apartment if they had fought.
Agreed. Though he was not my prefered team set, Grunt made an excellent front liner while Garrus or Thane and my infiltrator laid done cover fire with snipers.

I like to think that right now Wrex has the experience over Grunt, but over time Grunt would become the ultimate fighting machine. Pure Krogan - be in awe. I hope see Grunt in a future game, mature with his head plates full formed.
elock1277 If you don't talk him down on Virmire in ME1, Ashley shoots him in the back, and he dies on the spot. If you sabotage the Genophage cure in ME3, he tries to kill you but is shot and killed with a pistol. I was just poking fun at how the games are inconsistent when it comes to characters having some specific powers that would normally prevent them from dying that easily, yet they can get killed with a single shot from the weakest pistol in cutscenes. Grunt, on the other hand, can get shot in the gut by Shepard mutliple times in ME2 to force him to stand down, and he will barely feel it.
@@NoelistAvenger Cutscenes doesn't count. To put down a krogan you need to make a lot of damage in every primary and secondary (and sometimes terciary) organ or use bombs.

Agree, it's really what's the person enjoy personally, alot of characters have different personality which is one of the reasons why alot of people enjoy Mass Effect cause aleast you care about the characters, to me it's comes down to Jack, Garrus, Wrex, & Mordin, and I understand why you went with Mordin cause almost every character has a badass in their own way.
Shepard knew a fight between Wrex and Grunt would wreck the citadel so he stopped them so as to not endanger his plan of using them as WMD's against the reapers

Very true, but the thing is that Mass Effect has many characters that are arguably the best character of the series. Certainly Shepard, but I know many people who would argue a case for Garrus, Tali, Mordin, Legion, Liara, and even Javik and Jack. For me personally it comes down to Mordin, Legion, & Wrex, and I think Mordin takes it by a hair. But if someone were to name any of those guys, I'd say they made a good choice.

I'd just like to point out that if you do the math, Wrex is over a thousand years old (active on the tail end of, or soon after, the rebellions). Being imprinted with mass amounts of knowledge doesn't make up for a millenium of down-in-the-trenches combat experience, and whether or not Grunt is younger, Wrex is still perfectly healthy, so that's not really a handicap either.
This needs to be a fight on Screwattack's deathbattle.

honestly, good question. Wrex has years of real world experience and the advantage of being at the top of the social structure, Grunt has the advantage of being tank bred and given proper nutrition that Wrex may have lacked in his early years and being genetically engineered to tend towards the stronger side of the krogan build. it's a good question.
Grunt isn't even fully grown yet. Wrex takes it right now in my opinion, but in a few more years, Grunt will be unstoppable.

Grunt may not have all the accolades and great stories to tell that Wrex has, but he's just barely getting started. By the time they're both dead, my guess is that Grunt will be on par with Wrex in nearly every way. Their personalities are both on par right now.

Ok so normally I have a favorite in a situation like this but I'm stumped on this fight.
Grunt is the Caption America of Krogen he's faster, stronger and heals faster then Wrex and has memories from Krogen warlords but Wrex is AT LEAST 800 years, may be a better fighter and is biotic soooooo ya no clue they would probably leveled that apartment if they had fought.
I'd have to go with Wrex. Experience counts for a lot. Grunt might have the memories of a bunch of warlords but he didn't fight their battles himself.
I wonder why you guys keep forgetting that Wrex is also a biotic, while Grunt's not.

Wrex definitely has the strength advantage, but Grunt probably has the stamina.
Agreed. Though he was not my prefered team set, Grunt made an excellent front liner while Garrus or Thane and my infiltrator laid done cover fire with snipers.

This is the one fight every mass effect fan should want to see turn into a several hour brawl that ruins half the citadel.
I don't want to have to buy new furniture. Why the hell not? If we're all heading into the breach after this party, odds are we won't come back anyway.
I like to think that right now Wrex has the experience over Grunt, but over time Grunt would become the ultimate fighting machine. Pure Krogan - be in awe.

Grunt is tougher. He can get shot with a pistol in a cutscene, and survive.
Krogan have super regeneration, look at ME1 Wrex, the fool can take on an army and not die.
elock1277 Yes, but even for Wrex, getting shot by a pistol in a cutscene is a death sentence.
elock1277 If you don't talk him down on Virmire in ME1, Ashley shoots him in the back, and he dies on the spot. If you sabotage the Genophage cure in ME3, he tries to kill you but is shot and killed with a pistol. I was just poking fun at how the games are inconsistent when it comes to characters having some specific powers that would normally prevent them from dying that easily, yet they can get killed with a single shot from the weakest pistol in cutscenes.
Grunt, on the other hand, can get shot in the gut by Shepard mutliple times in ME2 to force him to stand down, and he will barely feel it.
@@NoelistAvenger Cutscenes doesn't count. To put down a krogan you need to make a lot of damage in every primary and secondary (and sometimes terciary) organ or use bombs.

Agree, it's really what's the person enjoy personally, alot of characters have different personality which is one of the reasons why alot of people enjoy Mass Effect cause aleast you care about the characters, to me it's comes down to Jack, Garrus, Wrex, & Mordin, and I understand why you went with Mordin cause almost every character has a badass in their own way.
Shepard knew a fight between Wrex and Grunt would wreck the citadel so he stopped them so as to not endanger his plan of using them as WMD's against the reapers

Very true, but the thing is that Mass Effect has many characters that are arguably the best character of the series. Certainly Shepard, but I know many people who would argue a case for Garrus, Tali, Mordin, Legion, Liara, and even Javik and Jack.
For me personally it comes down to Mordin, Legion, & Wrex, and I think Mordin takes it by a hair.
But if someone were to name any of those guys, I'd say they made a good choice.
