I actually don't. The Precursors, by their nature, are meant to be lovecraftian, otherworldly entities. The less we see them and know about them, the better. A lot of people said the same thing about the Forerunners and Flood, but Greg Bear did a fantastic job fleshing them out in a satisfying way in the forerunner novels... but even HE kept the Precursors mostly mysterious and unknown. They make the Forerunner trilogy more Cosmic horror then sci-fi, and that's what makes those books great: exploring the Precursors in detail., ESPECIALLY having them as enemies in games you can beat, would seriously undermine all that.
I believe the Rampant Cortana fragments that were “budded” off from the original entered the Domain due to The Gravemind’s logical plague. Cortana spent 2 weeks in direct contact with the Gravemind, a being that is a corrupted Precusor.
Mabe the gravemind itself instructed the ramped fragments to gain control over the domain. Maybe the gravemind tries to infect all of "the created" with the logic plague in exchange for the cure to rampancy.

What I meant to say was that the Gravemind maybe has some sort of inprint of himself inside Cortana which Cortana wasn't aware of until she split into many entities in the end of Halo 4. This 'virus' the Gravemind may have left inside Cortana and was hiding in her since Halo2/3 may now be able to infect the Domain. Which I know is a wild theory and will probably never be confirmed… But in my opinion it would make a lot of sence for the Gravemind to do such a thing. Using the domain he could spread himself over the universe through all those AI's that are willing to join Cortana. The gravemind wouldn't even need a large Flood army with lots of biomass, when he can infect the AI. That way he'd truly exploid humanities gratest weakness in the Halo universe.
The halo array removed everyone known to access due to emergency wipe. However Cortana rediscovered the domain access codes and used it to enter forcefully against the defense of the domain left from the wipeout of halo. She was fragmented, but had the tactical advantage of numbering enough to trick the domain to see her as an authentic user, but having realized no body for it to either return to or operate separately for her home location. It couldn’t destroy live programs. She lived inside it and found it could be a central comms server for forerunners. She needed other ais to do the translating work on keeping track of everything within a sector. They were relay storage translators for software of the main ai being Cortana. She literally rebuilt it from the original port of data processing the forerunners used.
The Domain, known as the Orgenon by the Precursors and Ancient Humanity, was a quasi-sentient being that you could say is what the Precursors meant when they said “space is alive, but not as we know it”. It was the greatest invention of the Precursors and survived multiple universes, held unfathomable amounts of information and was the basis of the entire Forerunner society. It’s no wonder when the Flood Graveminds got intelligent enough to use neural physics that they immediately messed up the Domain and used it against the Forerunners, adding to the fact that even before that the Domain itself was displeased with the Forerunners and restricted them from accessing “human threads” (history, statistics, future predictions etc.). The Forerunners may never have been able to manipulate or create neural physics-based tech, but they could destroy it. Halo radiation turned all neural physics tech to grey slag, utterly obliterating living life forms (with neural tissue) and the Domain. Only fragments deep within celestial bodies or in alternate dimensions (like slipspace) were spared.
Cortana rebuilt it from the ground up. The fact the domain was empty may have assisted her in replacement of the domain original semi lifeform into a full one.
I'm really interested in the Domain now that you had a in depth look on it. Thanks for making another brain raddling video. I appreciate that you can find the time to be a youtuber while also being a full time dad.

i have a theory, MC travels to 07 to collect the index to direct the fire of the ring directly at the guardians, acting like an e.m.p to those constructs, (older halo models could narrow their fire to a single target, 07 is one of those older ones) then it is discovered that offensive bias resides inside the ring, through bias 117 gains access to the domain. it grants him power over the Promethean's, thanks to his forerunner geas (ghost memory of a past or present individual) and turns them against cortana

I always wondered how a single flood spore after multiplying and creating a Gravemind has been hinted at having knowledge of the ancient history of the precursors and forerunners if the gravemind for eg was created in a random world cut off from the rest of the galaxy, the only explanation could be is that the flood/precursors have a link to the domain (possibly through neural physics) that enables them not just access ancient memories but survive the halo arrays, I feel destroying the domain may stop the flood once and for all
Honestly a lot of this talk reminds me of stuff about the nine in destiny witch I guess makes sense to an extent considering we recently got information calling them a universe spanning consciousness made up of dark matter and dark energy. This seems very similar and given how neural physics function it could be very similar indeed.

Just a Theory! I think the Domain is a Precursor A.I. because it picks and chooses on what to do. It's already known that the Precursers link their structures with neural physics and so I think that they somehow did the same thing in making this A.I. But I dont think it's the only Precursor A.I., I believe the the Mantle of Responsibility is a Precersor A.I. too. what makes me think so is if the Precursors were able to create an A.I. that hold knowledge to be the honest to 'Precursor' truth, then I believe they created an A.I. to be for life. Why didnt the Forerunners be aware of it? To be fair it would be a Precersor A.I. infused with neural physics and would be incredibly more advanced than anything the Forerunners ever thought of. Why didnt the Mantle of Responsibility A.I. communicate with anything or let itself be known? The Domain was for knowledge and always actively seemed out knowledge to add onto the 100 billion years of info, why would the life A.I. need to do the same, it needs to focus on its purpose, being the Mantle it is.
Another thing I think is why does John literally have a supernatural force called "luck"? I think the Matle of Responsibility can do something similar to what the Domain can do, use neural physics to its advantage. I think the Mantle gives John that extra edge cause of the fact that the Precursors deemed humanity worthy of wielding it, why wouldnt the Mantle help humanity is some way? p.s. also think as to why the flood can never truly win against humanity and why humans are able to pull off "miracles " exactly when they need them to happen. I do believe with the firing of the rings, the force of the neural physics was severely damaged but if Precursors dont actually 'die' then there would be Precersors around and would possibly be able to fix the damaged neural physics in the galaxy without being noticed. I'm really worried that Halo Infinite will simplify its story too much. Obviously it needs to be, after Halo 4 was pretty complex, and then Halo 5 was an orgy of all kinds of shit, but I'm also worried that with the whole, "going back to halo's roots" thing that they're doing, they're going to end up throwing away a lot of this incredible stuff that Halo 4 set up, for an extremely simple storyline. Because they've said that this is both the conclusion to the reclaimer saga, and a spiritual reboot. But it's going to be difficult to give a satisfying conclusion to a story that involves all this lore and backstory, and deals with master chief' PTSD while also making it accessable to new players. I love Halo 4's story, and I want it to have the ending that it deserves and not oversimplified for the sake of introducing new players.

Doesn't the domain work on the same basis as Precursor Neurophysics? So even if it had been destroyed by the Halo array it would still exist, but the means to connect to it would be lost?

Wait, plothole: At first, it made sense for the domain to no longer be around, because the Didact was still nuts, and the entire point of his inprisonment was for him to meditate on his actions, using the domain, which the Librarian seemingly forgot was going to be destroyed. But once they fixed, or reset, or whatever, the domain, how is the Didact still crazy? How did his attempts to access the domain just fail??? It seems to me like the team working on the halo 5 story wanted to make Cortana the villian, but couldn't figure out how to do that without breaking their own lore, so they broke their own lore anyway. Honestly, halo 5 should have been against the Didact, gathering the Guardians to attack/control the universe, but this time Cheif doesn't have Cortana to help him. Would have been better, in my opinion.
It certainly feels convoluted. But I assume the Didact was cut off and couldn't reconnect. Contriving the Didact as a villain and then sidelining him DOES feel awkward (and no, I don't think he's dead)
@@chrissonofpear1384 But that's just it: HOW do you cut the Didact off from the domain? It runs on some kind of "space time" thingy, and moving the halos slowed it to near unusability, sure. But the Didact was imprisoned when the rings were not being moved, while the domain was present, so there is no explanation as to WHY he is still nuts. The problem: If the domain exists, the Didact wouldn't, or shouldn't, be insane. But he is, so it can't be there. But if it's not there, Cortana can't come back, but that's what they wanted to do, so they just "reset" it without realizing that this would make the Didact not an enemy of humanity. So, in short Halo 5 contradicts Halo 4. After all the bullshit, I'm kinda surprised they haven't retconned halo 5: guardians yet. They broke their own story, wasted everyone's time and money, and it REALLY was not the good a game. The changes to the Promethean forces were interesting, and if they fleshed them out more, they would have been more fun, but overall, the game was crap.
Assuming three centuries passed from firing of the Halos, I assume connection timed out, then maybe sealed it off. The mission to restore the Domain did not take place until three centuries had passed.

Did the Flood have access to the Domain since they were able to weaponise and use Precursor technology such as the Star Roads.
At least the Gravemind may have had PARTIAL access. At some point, they may have reached a level where they could tap in to activate the Roads.

Just a Theory!
I think the Domain is a Precursor A.I. because it picks and chooses on what to do. It's already known that the Precursers link their structures with neural physics and so I think that they somehow did the same thing in making this A.I.
But I dont think it's the only Precursor A.I., I believe the the Mantle of Responsibility is a Precersor A.I. too. what makes me think so is if the Precursors were able to create an A.I. that hold knowledge to be the honest to 'Precursor' truth, then I believe they created an A.I. to be for life.
Why didnt the Forerunners be aware of it?
To be fair it would be a Precersor A.I. infused with neural physics and would be incredibly more advanced than anything the Forerunners ever thought of.
Why didnt the Mantle of Responsibility A.I. communicate with anything or let itself be known?
The Domain was for knowledge and always actively seemed out knowledge to add onto the 100 billion years of info, why would the life A.I. need to do the same, it needs to focus on its purpose, being the Mantle it is.
Another thing I think is why does John literally have a supernatural force called "luck"?
I think the Matle of Responsibility can do something similar to what the Domain can do, use neural physics to its advantage. I think the Mantle gives John that extra edge cause of the fact that the Precursors deemed humanity worthy of wielding it, why wouldnt the Mantle help humanity is some way? p.s. also think as to why the flood can never truly win against humanity and why humans are able to pull off "miracles " exactly when they need them to happen.
I do believe with the firing of the rings, the force of the neural physics was severely damaged but if Precursors dont actually 'die' then there would be Precersors around and would possibly be able to fix the damaged neural physics in the galaxy without being noticed.
I have been told that the Primordial said he was the last of his kind. But the Precorsors didnt fight back because they couldn't, they didnt because they were fascinated in the retaliation, and if that was their response to the Forerunners, why would they give themselves away and ruin the ongoing research?
The Precursors are far to intelligent to take things at face value, let alone think that their words are empty honors. They are advanced enough to literally manifest meanings for their creations.

I'm really worried that Halo Infinite will simplify its story too much. Obviously it needs to be, after Halo 4 was pretty complex, and then Halo 5 was an orgy of all kinds of shit, but I'm also worried that with the whole, "going back to halo's roots" thing that they're doing, they're going to end up throwing away a lot of this incredible stuff that Halo 4 set up, for an extremely simple storyline. Because they've said that this is both the conclusion to the reclaimer saga, and a spiritual reboot. But it's going to be difficult to give a satisfying conclusion to a story that involves all this lore and backstory, and deals with master chief' PTSD while also making it accessable to new players. I love Halo 4's story, and I want it to have the ending that it deserves and not oversimplified for the sake of introducing new players.

Eck would you be able to do a video on the most advanced droids in the CIS or just star wars as a whole because I've recently watched some clone wars and seen that towards the end the CIS started making advanced command droids like General Kalani that aren't just vastly superior but also look REALLY cool and sound terrifying... I'm sure other powerful factions like the eternal empire or the infinite Rakatan empire has droids that most may not have heard of but dwarf that seen in the clone wars

I forget what novel it was that I read, where the Librarian travels to another galaxy and finds other Forerunners. These forerunners also had access to the domain but via organic means, they were not as technologically advanced. Ugh it’s so vague. Can anyone clear this up?

Doesn't the domain work on the same basis as Precursor Neurophysics? So even if it had been destroyed by the Halo array it would still exist, but the means to connect to it would be lost?
I guess so. A new 'template' for it to regrow was activated by Forerunner survivors after the Flood war though (before they left the galaxy)

Wait, plothole:
At first, it made sense for the domain to no longer be around, because the Didact was still nuts, and the entire point of his inprisonment was for him to meditate on his actions, using the domain, which the Librarian seemingly forgot was going to be destroyed.
But once they fixed, or reset, or whatever, the domain, how is the Didact still crazy? How did his attempts to access the domain just fail???
It seems to me like the team working on the halo 5 story wanted to make Cortana the villian, but couldn't figure out how to do that without breaking their own lore, so they broke their own lore anyway.
Honestly, halo 5 should have been against the Didact, gathering the Guardians to attack/control the universe, but this time Cheif doesn't have Cortana to help him.
Would have been better, in my opinion.
It certainly feels convoluted. But I assume the Didact was cut off and couldn't reconnect. Contriving the Didact as a villain and then sidelining him DOES feel awkward (and no, I don't think he's dead)

But that's just it: HOW do you cut the Didact off from the domain? It runs on some kind of "space time" thingy, and moving the halos slowed it to near unusability, sure.
But the Didact was imprisoned when the rings were not being moved, while the domain was present, so there is no explanation as to WHY he is still nuts.
The problem:
If the domain exists, the Didact wouldn't, or shouldn't, be insane.
But he is, so it can't be there.
But if it's not there, Cortana can't come back, but that's what they wanted to do, so they just "reset" it without realizing that this would make the Didact not an enemy of humanity.
So, in short Halo 5 contradicts Halo 4.
After all the bullshit, I'm kinda surprised they haven't retconned halo 5: guardians yet. They broke their own story, wasted everyone's time and money, and it REALLY was not the good a game.
The changes to the Promethean forces were interesting, and if they fleshed them out more, they would have been more fun, but overall, the game was crap.
Assuming three centuries passed from firing of the Halos, I assume connection timed out, then maybe sealed it off. The mission to restore the Domain did not take place until three centuries had passed.

Given just how dependant Forerunners were on the domain, I highly doubt it.
Especially since he had NOTHING BETTER TO DO.
I can't fully explain it. I just assume the Cryptum cut him off assuming nothing was left out there, after first attempt. Or he did so himself.
